Mercure Paris Bastille Marais Hotel

We had an exceptional stay. Every staff member went above and beyond, especially the manager Charly who helped us a number of times. Right next to Voltaire station and recently renovated. Rooms are very nice, good size in comparison to most Paris hotels. We rebooked the hotel when we returned to Paris because we enjoyed it so much the first time

Chose this hotel for the location right by the metro line. The beds are very comfortable, rooms had AC, it had a coffee machine and a water refill station in the lobby but the rooms are tiny and front desk were indifferent. Overall this is not a 4 star hotel.

​​FINAL UPDATE: > After dragging this out for 3 whole months, Accor Group officially refused to provide a fair resolution or a flexible voucher for my ruined engagement trip. Instead of taking real responsibility, they threw 15,000 points at my account at the very last minute just to try and shut me up, and told me to go to a French "Mediator" (MTV). ​They have officially lost a loyal Gold Member. I have terminated my loyalty to this network, moved all my future business to their competitors, and initiated a full credit card chargeback through my bank for services not rendered. ​If you expect a hospitality brand to care about your special occasions or respect your loyalty when things go wrong—STAY AWAY FROM ACCOR. 🚨 UPDATE (May 4th): > It has been 19 days since I filed a formal complaint about my ruined engagement trip, and Accor's management is still playing games. After 17 days of total silence, they offered a "compensation" that forces me to fly back to the same hotel I’m complaining about! ​They refuse to provide a global voucher or a status upgrade despite their clear failure. This is not loyalty; this is corporate arrogance. DO NOT TRUST THIS BRAND WITH YOUR SPECIAL OCCASIONS. I am now proceeding with a credit card chargeback. Avoid this hotel - Ruined Engagement Trip & Terrible Management I chose this hotel for my engagement trip, expecting a high-standard experience as an ALL Gold Member. Instead, it was a disaster. Not only were there significant service failures, but the management’s attitude was a disgrace. ​After the stay, they ignored my formal complaints for months. It took weeks of pressure just to get a basic response. When they finally answered, the manager, Solene, was dismissive and refused to provide a reasonable "customer recovery." They offered a voucher for the same hotel where I had a terrible experience – what an insult! ​If you are celebrating a special occasion, STAY AWAY. This hotel does not value loyalty, and their management lacks the basic skills to fix their own mistakes. A 4-star hotel with 1-star management. ​Zero accountability. Zero respect for loyal guests.

Honestly really pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Paris hotel rooms are small, but we did pretty well with the space we had in this room. It was clean, affordable, and good location. So overall I was quite happy. Edit: I initially forgot to add that the room is always set at 22 degrees which is far too room. We were sweating in that night. This really needs to change for me to book this hotel again in the future.
