My friend and I had a wonderful visit while we were there. They’re currently renovating and should be nearly finished, so we didn’t have lobby access, but our room was pristine and beautiful. Minimal but lovely. It had a gorgeous Swedish espresso machine with delicious high end espresso pods that use zero plastic, that I now want to save for to purchase for myself. The bathroom was stocked with lovely typology products. You’re steps away from a legendary French restaurant named La Closerie des Lilas, we stumbled upon it by accident and found out later it was frequented by Hemingway, Oscar Wild, Cézanne, Picasso.. a block away from the Metro. Across the street is the only bakery you need to go to - sadly we found that out on the last day. Also highly recommend renting a bike via Voi which are typically close by. You can do a plan for three days which amounted to like 3€ for 20min rides - incredible. The people who work at the hotel are very kind and helpful as well, happy to give recommendations and advice. Be sure to stay for more than 3 days!!! I was so in the moment I barely took any photos, but trust me!

We booked our stay starting from 26 June. We were informed about the renovation less than three days before our arrival. The hotel stated that the renovation works would only take place on the ground floor and that there would be noise and dust between 8:00 and 17:00. However, in reality, the renovation was much more extensive. Renovation works were also taking place on the floors where the rooms are located. As a result, there was a very strong smell of paint inside the room, which made it extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable to stay there. The hotel looked and felt like a construction site. We booked two rooms, and both were disappointing. The hotel staff told us that the rooms had been recently renovated, but the rooms did not look like the photos on the hotel’s website, which had not been updated. There was no fridge in the room, even though the website stated that there would be one. There were no bedside tables, cables were coming out of the walls, no cups for toothbrushes, and there was no TV in the rooms. In the room we stayed in, the toilet and shower area were in the same space, with a large window facing the street, covered only by a semi-transparent curtain. This made us feel that we had no real privacy and made us very uncomfortable. The elevator was tiny and kept getting stuck. The renovation workers even told us that we needed to push/hit the elevator in order for it to work, which was honestly unbelievable. During the day, workers were constantly present in the hotel, and every time we wanted to go up to our room, it felt like we were disturbing the renovation workers. This is not the kind of environment where guests can relax. To be fair, the reception staff were nice and seemed to understand how unpleasant the situation was. To their credit, when we asked to leave, they accepted it with understanding and we were not charged for the remaining nights. However, the hotel was not transparent enough about the real extent of the renovation, and the information was provided far too late. This caused us significant inconvenience and disappointment. What makes it even more frustrating is that the hotel charged the normal nightly rate for the one night we stayed, despite the fact that the hotel was clearly not operating under normal conditions. We stayed there for one night only because the renovation notice was given too late, and by the time I checked other options, many hotels were either fully booked or very expensive. On the day of arrival, I realized we simply could not continue staying there because of the strong smell, the construction works, and the overall condition of the hotel. I eventually found other 4-star hotels for the rest of our stay at a similar price, with much better value for money. Unfortunately, we did not receive the standard or experience we paid for. This hotel, in its current condition, is not suitable for a relaxing stay.
Before our stay, we received an email advising us that renovations were continuing on the ground floor and that there would be some noise and dust during the day. Based on that description, we assumed the disruption would be relatively minor and decided to keep our reservation. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. The renovations were extensive and directly affected our ability to comfortably and safely access our room. Walls and staircase railings were actively being painted, and we regularly had to walk up five flights of a very narrow, winding staircase without being able to touch the walls or use the railings for support. The stairs were uneven in places, and at times I genuinely felt unsafe and worried I could fall. This was made worse by the fact that the elevator was extremely small and did not work consistently, so we sometimes had to make the climb with luggage. The smell of paint was also very strong and unpleasant throughout the hotel. The hotel staff themselves were friendly and kind, and I want to be fair about that. However, our experience with some of the renovation workers and painters was very different. They appeared visibly annoyed when we needed to pass through areas where they were working simply to get to or from our room, which made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them by accessing a hotel we had paid to stay in. I was particularly disappointed that the hotel’s advance communication significantly downplayed the true extent and impact of the renovations. Had we understood that active painting would affect the stairways and railings, that there would be strong paint fumes, and that accessing our fifth-floor room could be this difficult, we would have cancelled when given the option. There was also significant noise at night from the restaurant directly across the street, which made it difficult to fall asleep. The friendly hotel staff were the positive part of our stay, but overall, the extent of the renovations and their impact on guests should have been communicated much more transparently. Overall, the experience put a real damper on our time in Paris. After long days exploring the city, it was disappointing to return to strong paint fumes, extensive renovation work, and the prospect of navigating five flights of narrow, uneven stairs without being able to properly use the walls or railings for support. A hotel should feel like a comfortable place to return to at the end of the day, and unfortunately, that was not our experience.
