A serious security and privacy issue I have never experienced anything like this in a hotel before. At around 1 a.m., while I was asleep, a hotel employee opened the door to my room and entered. I woke up to find a large man from the reception desk standing in my doorway. I was alone in the room and was absolutely terrified. He immediately left and apologized, and the next morning I went to speak to the manager. I was told that he had simply confused the rooms. I was also told that they had called me that morning, but I had not answered - and apparently this was considered sufficient on the hotel’s side. It was NOT sufficient. Someone working at the hotel was able to open the door of an occupied room in the middle of the night while a guest was sleeping inside. This is not a minor inconvenience or a simple service mistake. It is a serious failure of basic guest safety and privacy. What made the situation even worse was the hotel’s response. There was no genuine apology, no meaningful reassurance, no offer to compensate for the incident, and no solution offered to make me feel safe for the remainder of my stay. There is not even an additional lock or security latch inside the room. I understand that mistakes happen. But a hotel’s security procedures should be designed precisely to prevent a mistake like this from allowing an employee to enter an occupied room at 1 a.m. I am extremely disappointed by both the incident itself and the way management handled it afterwards. I would not feel comfortable staying at this hotel again. One star because I cannot give zero

Perfect location. The rooms look new, are clean and the AC is working perfectly. All the staff we interacted with were very kind and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for anyone and we will definitely be back.
As the famous saying goes, how much do i love thee? Let me count the ways. Mercure La Sorbonne, spending the last leg of my Europe vacation staying at your hotel is the best decision I have ever made! Located in a safe, lovely neighbourhood yet only 15 mins walk to Notre Dame and Lourve, its a beautiful decorated 4 stars hotel with services and touches of a 5 star! Ill opt for this over Ritz, Four Seasons, St Georges, Meridian anytime. Kenza is a gem; she proves Parisian hospitality warmth does exist! With her efficient service and recognition of my Accor Platinum status, she tried her best to render late check out, upgrade and better breakfast rates for me. We are given a gorgeous and comfortable bedroom; compact yet spacious enough for two shopaholics. Toiletries are Nuxe; so nice and organic and minibar with bottled juices are complimentary too. We felt like waking up to 7th Heaven everyday with nice pillows and bedding. It is a peaceful and quiet street but yet just 1 min walk away from lovely cafes and shops. I’ll strongly recommend all Accor members to stay in this hotel. Just two cents; perhaps a frosted glass toilet door for privacy and thicker bath towels. It definitely will luxe up the amazing experience at Mercure La Sorbonne Saint Germain! Merci Beaucoup to Kenza and the hotel team! A bientot!
Does not feel like 4 star hotel. Room, breakfast area are too small, with see through bathroom... Mercure brand hotels feel kind of cheap. Already stayed in 3 hotels in 3 cities, compared to Hilton Garden Inn which may not be 4 star, Mercure feels like 1-2 star lower. Without free coffee, hair conditioner....while Garden Inn has everything. My status just got upgraded by Mercure to Silver with late check out included, but I was told it's only 1 hour later than 12pm which is not very helpful. Overall, 4 star hotel charges much more than Garden Inn should be better not worse.
Our stay at Mercure Paris La Sorbonne was truly 5-star all the way. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They made us feel comfortable right away and were always available to assist with anything we needed during our stay. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the Latin Quarter, with easy access to so many beautiful sights, restaurants, and cafés. It made getting around Paris effortless. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a great place to relax after long days of exploring the city. The included breakfast was excellent and a real highlight of our stay. There was a great selection including bacon, sausage, boiled and scrambled eggs, pancakes, and fresh croissants. Everything was fresh, delicious, and well presented, and the coffee was fantastic. It was the perfect way to start each day in Paris. What really stood out was the overall experience—the friendly service, the convenience, and the attention to detail. Everything came together to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Paris!
