Our stay at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. The overall atmosphere was charming, and I felt completely welcome and at ease throughout my entire stay here. Not only is the exterior impressive, but the front desk, lobby, and staircase interiors are all beautifully refined. [Breakfast] Breakfast was served from 7:00 AM. Although the menu was the same each day, the sausages seemed especially juicy and delicious if you went early! The breakfast dining room had stunning decor, making us feel as though we were dining in a castle. [Room] Our room was equally wonderful. It featured warm wooden flooring, stylishly packaged toiletries, a coffee machine, a refrigerator, a hairdryer, and complimentary drinks. There were also about 15 hangers, so the two of us could organize our clothes comfortably without any hassle. [Terrace] Rooms with terraces appear to be located on the 4th and 5th floors. Mine was on the 4th floor, facing the street opposite, allowing us to fully soak in the quintessential charm of Paris. The terrace was spacious and equipped with two chairs and a table, where we enjoyed sitting outside and eating bought pastries. The entrance of the hotel was so picturesque that we even saw a couple having their wedding photos taken there. [location] The hotel is about a 10-minute walk to Palais Garnier, and places like Place de la Concorde are also within walking distance if you feel like walking. The surrounding area is quiet, yet there are plenty of restaurants around, and it did not feel dark or unsafe even when walking back around 11:00 PM.Another great feature was its proximity to Gare Saint-Lazare. My stay coincided with the period just before protests in Paris escalated. On the day of our checkout, the front desk staff thoughtfully informed us of the protest schedule, which allowed us to travel safely. They even offered to arrange a taxi for us—the hospitality and attentiveness of the entire staff were truly remarkable. When booking, I had made a specific request regarding the bed arrangement. Although they kindly replied beforehand that they could not guarantee it but would do their best, we were delighted to find upon arrival that they had fully accommodated our request, making our stay all the more comfortable. Since I thought this might be the last trip to Europe with my elderly mother, I planned a special, luxurious stay for us. Thanks to this hotel, we created unforgettable memories that were worth every bit of the investment, and I am deeply grateful. This is a truly wonderful hotel that I would love to stay at again whenever I visit Paris. Thank you so much for everything.

We spent the period 15-18 July at Alfred Sommier. Air conditioning worked flawlessly in this exceptionally hot period. At night we chose to sleep with open windows, it was extremely quiet and waking up in the morning with a view over Parisian rooftops already put us in a good mood. Breakfast in the shady courtyard was most pleasant, the buffet choice excellent. Room was spacious, reception staff day and night and concierge were at our beck and call, super helpful. We arrived at 11 in the morning and our room was already available so we were checked in immediately which was an added bonus. Internet high speed, absolutely no complaints. The location of the hotel is just around the corner of La Madeleine, Louvre, Concorde, and Harry’s Bar, everything within a short walk. Concierge offers to organise day trips into the vicinity of Paris all the way to see chateaus on the Loire. We came via booking.com, the price for our stay was more than reasonable. This hotel offers the unique opportunity to dwell in the center of a bustling city in an absolutely quiet atmosphere. We will be back in December, this hotel and we have tried a few in Paris, is now our official Paris-home-away-from-home.
We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a positive experience. The hotel is in a great location. I liked that the street was quiet but it was still in a very central location. They upgraded our room and it was beautiful. Very high ceilings with a modern bathroom and fresh yet charming bedroom.
Stay away from this hotel unless you enjoy feeling like you're sleeping in a sauna. Our room simply did not cool down. There is no way this hotel deserves a five-star rating, especially considering what they charge. It doesn't come close to five-star standards. The air conditioning doesn't work. The staff was unfriendly, clueless, and at times downright rude. When we complained about the heat in the room, we were told that "all hotels in Paris have problems with air conditioning." That turned out to be completely untrue! We moved to a nearby three-star hotel! Ironically, that hotel was better in every way! It was cleaner, more comfortable, the staff was warm and welcoming, and, most importantly, the air conditioning WORKED perfectly. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else. Don't let this hotel ruin your vacation the way it nearly ruined ours!
This was my first trip to Paris, and staying at this hotel made the experience even more special. From the moment my mom and I arrived after a long day of travel, the service was exceptional. We were tired, jet-lagged, and definitely not looking our best, but the welcome we received could not have been warmer. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner at check-in, and he was incredibly kind and welcoming. He immediately provided us with his business card and encouraged us to reach out directly if we needed anything during our stay. Check-in felt personal rather than transactional. The staff walked us up to our room, and we found a thoughtful surprise waiting for us—delicious macarons and a handwritten note that immediately made us feel at home. This was a special mother-daughter trip, and those thoughtful touches made the experience feel even more memorable and meaningful. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive. My mom and I do not speak any French, but that did not inhibit the outstanding service we received in any way. The staff communicated effortlessly with us and made us feel comfortable and welcome at all times. Our room was spotless, and we especially appreciated the turndown service as well as the additional housekeeping later in the day to empty trash and refresh towels. Those small touches made a noticeable difference and added to the overall feeling of being well cared for. The location was perfect—within easy walking distance of wonderful shopping, cafés, and restaurants, yet tucked away on a quiet street that felt peaceful after a busy day exploring the city. The building itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning architecture and charming windows that embody everything you hope for in an authentic Parisian stay. I will absolutely stay here again on my next visit to Paris. This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable, authentic, and truly welcoming Paris experience.
