Citizenm Paris Opera

Wow! Incredible. We only stayed here because it was a lesser expensive Bonvoy. WOW! this is nicer than most Marriotts. So clean. SMART rooms. Staff was so incredibly nice. Can’t say enough! Loved it! Breakfast was a little expensive but lovely. Stay here!

Read the others reviews before you book so you are not disappointed. The staff were very nice and speak French and English. Able to drop your bag before or after checkout if needed. The rooms are tiny, you will find no privacy in the room between two people, but the bed is huge and it is wall to wall. No coffee in room. Coffee for two cost me 8.00. There is a small refig in the room. The shower and the bath towels are huge. Breakfast is 21.50 each. There is a safe in the room. As a vegetarian i did not like the pictures of dead fish hanging on the wall in the room. There is a carre four one block away.

I expected much better from citizenM Paris Opéra. At check-in, no one informed me that housekeeping must be requested through the room iPad. I eventually discovered this myself and requested service. When I returned to the hotel around 3:20 p.m. after a long day, my room had not been cleaned. The front desk eventually offered only two options: wait until 5:00 p.m. for housekeeping (meaning I had to leave my room while it was being cleaned) or accept clean towels and no housekeeping. After waiting, the towels did not arrive until about 4:30 p.m. The most disappointing part was the manager’s indifferent attitude. A good hotel isn’t judged by whether problems occur, but by how they’re resolved. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below the level of service I expected. The rooms are exceptionally small, with very limited space for clothing and luggage. Travelers with more than a carry-on suitcase may find the layout inconvenient. Finally, the name “citizenM Paris Opéra” may create the impression that the hotel is adjacent to the Opéra. While the location is convenient, the Palais Garnier is approximately a 12-minute walk from the hotel. Based on my experience, I would not choose to stay at this property again.

This was the first time we tried a CitizenM property. We liked the location and the competitive rate. Yes, the rooms are cozy, but they are very comfortably and charmingly designed, and we weren’t going to be hanging out in the room anyway. Our entire stay was delightful, particularly because the staff were so friendly and eager to get to know us. We met Kristel at check-in, and she helped us figure out the laundry service and told us her favorite spot for croissants in the city. Later in our stay she was working the bar downstairs and made us great drinks, and we got to chat even more. We also want to shout-out Leander, who made us a delicious pizza at 1:30 am another night at the bar., after we had given up on finding any food at that hour. Overall, both Kristel and Leander made us feel like they were personally invested in hosting us and helping us have a great experience at the hotel and in the city. We absolutely will keep CitizenM on our list for future stays.
