Itinerary
3 hours tour ( no capivaras ) After a brief instruction, we will leave from Pontal beach towards Paradise beach and Jabaquara mangroves; soon after we will enter the mangroves at Itú island and Várzea do Corumbê. The itinerary is full of beauty, lonely beaches, islands and the last mangroves of Paraty 2 hours tour with Capivaras. Mangroves Kayak Tour in Paraty combines paddling between islands and beaches of the bay with navigation through the mangroves, offering a light and accessible kayaking experience. The route takes place in calm waters with rich biodiversity and is accompanied by local guides throughout the entire activity. During the paddle through the mangroves, it is common to spot capybaras, as well as birds and other species typical of the local ecosystem. This tour is recommended for beginners and for those who want to experience different natural environments in a single route, in a calm and safe way.

Wonderful experience. Brenda was our guide and she was fantastic and so much fun. Got to see different flowers and plant species, bird species, a capybara resting in the mangroves, and the casitas along the canal edge. Highly recommended.
I happened to be the only person who booked for the 09:00 kayak mangrove tour that day. Brenda was a very chilled out guide and I enjoyed my outing with her. My only complaint was that there were no details of when the trip commenced when I booked the excursion. My phone call was not answered. Eventually the boss got in touch and told me I could chose a 09:00 trip or 16:00. If you are booking this go in the morning as the sea is calm. It can get a bit choppy in the afternoon due to the wind.
What a cool experience! Brenda was an amazing guide, who has a great sense of humour and clearly has a passion for doing this tour! I may not have been the best kayaker, but she was patient and made sure it was an unforgettable experience! We kayaked around a beautiful island inhabited by all sorts of exotic birds and then kayaked through a mangrove seeing capybaras. I highly recommend this tour! Thanks Brenda and Paulo!
Originally scheduled for the mangroves tour, but sometimes the tide is too low to allow access so I was placed on the islands tour instead. They gave me the option of a free cancelation, but I decided to continue to the islands. The islands were beautiful, all containing fascinating kinds of birds and vegetation. Our tour guide, Brenda, was hilarious and informative, able to answer questions about each island you visit. We were able to stop at some private, small beaches and go swimming. She also took many photos and videos, and sent them to me! Would recommend to anyone trying to see more of the bay in a fun, shorter amount of time.
I higly recommend this tour ! Brenda is really nice and will teach you a lot on the beautiful nature of Paraty ! You will enjoy stuning landscapes during a calm kayaking tour far from the tourists. If you like nature and are looking for a great ecotourism activity, don't wait any further ! Definetely the best tour I did in Paraty :)
The tour is advertised as a mangrove tour, but in reality it's just kayaking under the sun for three hours and going into a mangrove for ten minutes. The guide didn't seem to care and except for a brief "class" on how to kayak before starting, he left us on our own and we had to follow him from afar. After about an hour of kayaking, we took a quick break and the guide told us to rest for a bit and go to the bathroom if we needed to. He then walked towards the building and stayed on his phone. After one of us exited the toilet asking why there wasn't any running water to flush or wash our hands, the guide told us we weren't allowed to use the facilities as they were private property and that if we needed to go to the bathroom, we had the ocean for that.
It was a great experience. We explored the beautiful nature and had a nice tour guide. 100% recommended!
The whole journey is incredible . Just by lying on kayak do nothing already a good day , together with the warm sea water, bit work out , and amazingly kind ‘coach’ and company form the group , all made a superb morning . Our lady guide ( sorry forget her name ) explain things to us well , point the bird and crab , take picture for us . But what I like the most is her enthusiasm about nature and life . She doesn’t see it as a job. She only see it as a fun day out . Kayak paraty is a kind group of people , happy to do again with them .
We had a lovely time paddling across the open water, with a stop on the way to check out the view from a pier, then on to the mangroves to cruise along looking for red, black & the large yellow crabs. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Remember to take mosquito repellent for the midges in the mangroves. We finished and shared a beer or two on the beach which caped off the day nicely.
the beautiful nature in its purity the beautiful nature in its purity the beautiful nature in its purity
I did the Kayaking Mangroves tour with Brenda and she was awesome! She was full of energy and showed us some very pretty spots. I loved her enthusiasm, which made the trip a lot of fun. In all it was a great way to explore the area surrounding Paraty. If you’re going to book that tour it’s a good idea to keep your schedule flexible on the day you decide to do it. When I booked the start time was listed as 9 am but Brenda asked if I would be willing to push it back later. That was because at the time of year I was in Paraty high tide was later. At high tide there are more spots you can explore.. Whether or not they can change the time probably depends a lot on the group size but it is a good idea to give yourself the flexibility to do this just in case you get the option.
We chose to do the 3 hour Mangroves tour, with Brenda. It involves around 90 minutes of kayaking, which is tiring but do-able. The mangroves are beautiful and so is the surrounding islands. The tour was personal to us (private). Very thankful 😊
It was a gorgeous trip with our guide Mateo, who is a humorous communication partner and living jukebox! The tour through the mangroves - seeing the animals (different crabs, birds (an eagle!)) and enjoying the silence in this untouched nature was an amazing experience. It is good to be a bit sporty or to speak the language of the waves. ;)
Super nice tour with natan! Natan knows a lot about the history of paraty and the nature of the islands. He was a very good guide, also for the instructions he gave. We were in a group of six with two children of 13 and 15 years old and they liked the trip very much! Nice to see the mangroves and the islands.
Great experience! Good value for the money, the couple who owns the business were very sweet, and my partner and I had a really nice time. Would recommend to others.
It was wonderful The guide was awesome My friend and I passed a really nice experience I recommande This tour
Guides Lumila and Sergio are very attentive. We could not go on the scheduled day and fortunately Paul was very attentive and allowed us to do it on another day. Tour note ten
I discovered Kayak Paraty through travelers on YouTube. Intrigued by their images and stories, I decided to go there myself to book a kayak trip. There, I met Mateo. A few exchanges, a relaxed Mood, and voila, the exit was set for the next day. On D-Day, there were four of us, accompanied by Mateo, ready to embark on a planned two-hour ride... which eventually turned into six hours of adventure. But who really counts, when you’re in the heart of the mangrove, slaloming between the roots, watching flamingos, birds whose name I don’t know anymore, and even a sea turtle that gave me a look like: "He's not going to finish the ride." Spoiler: she was not completely wrong. Along the way, we took a break on an absolutely beautiful, secluded beach with transparent waters. The perfect opportunity to swim, cool off and enjoy the paradise setting, far from everything. Fortunately, Mateo showed incredible patience. At one point, he even boarded my kayak with me to help me paddle. Thanks to him, the return was in a good mood, in song and without stress. And in the middle of the day: a dream lunch, feet in the water, Postcard Mood, simple and magical. A huge thank you to Mateo for this unforgettable adventure, shared with our Belgian Team, full of laughter, discoveries and raw nature. An experience to live, really.
Great outing in Paraty Bay, thank you to Mateu for his explanations in English, French and Spanish! Beautiful landscapes, especially the Bird Island.
Excellent ride, duration and difficulty suitable for all levels, from the most beginner. Double kayak is good for going faster, but you have to worry about coordinating the pace of the finish. The individual kayak is slower, requires more effort, but gives more freedom to manoeuvre. I highly recommend the trip with Brenda.
Lots of local flora. It's a very different view from Paraty. I've been there several times and I've never seen what I saw on that walk. It's a reasonable physical effort for the arm, but super safe. A tour for those who love nature.
A very fun tour and a very different experience. It was the first to do a kayak ride but we managed to follow the group. The instructor Paulo is super good people, funny and knows how to teach super well :)
A great time kayaking in the mangroves! Thanks to Brenda our guide, we learned a lot about the ecosystem of the region Muito Obrigado Brenda!
It is a quiet walk in the middle of nature, and for those who care: don't tire. It's two hours, more or less. Brenda is a great and quiet person, well-humored, who fits well with the type of tour that it offers. I took the tour at 9 a.m., and it was a great way to start the day well. It is a great alternative for those who want to do something different, quiet and know the nature that surrounds the city. Going back to town again, I'll look for her for another walk of that.
I loved the walk. My 5 year old daughter liked it too. Our tour was on a cold and rainy day and still worked. I recommend.
Very nice trip! A different way to explore Paraty! Mateo is very nice and attentive! I recommend everyone!!!!!
Very nice walk in the sea and in a mangrove. Brenda, our Guide, very smiling and pleasant. We highly recommend!
Great morning kayaking at sea and in the mangrove with our very friendly guide: Brenda! She gave us many explanations about nature and animals. To do !!!
We really enjoyed the tour. We found the length and time of the journey to be good. We saw some animals on the way and the guide was very friendly.
We spent a wonderful morning paddling between the islands with very beautiful landscapes and discovering the mangrove (crabs and birds).
Magnificent kayak outing!!! Places without people and a walk inside the mangrove. Duration 4 hours, but very affordable for all levels.
was really very good, we did a great walk. Natan is a very friendly Cover, adapted to our level and his explanations were very interesting.
Mateus is very welcoming and does not hesitate to bring out his French lexicon. He adapts to the level of his clients. Outing to the mangrove in 2h30 for seasoned kayakers, or 4h for a cooler outing. Visiting the islands and beaches in big boats is nice with young children. But a ride in the mangrove is still more unusual. At $135 is very reasonable. Don't forget to go to the pico do pão de açucar. It's 550m uphill, but the view is worth it! But not on the same day... Kayaking will muscle your shoulders, and hiking your legs!:-)
A unique experience to take advantage of Paraty and some of the ecosystems of our country. We run through the sea to the mangrove which is not far away, but it can be an intense exercise depending on the wind and tide. Mateu is very experienced, speaks several languages (with an excellent Portuguese) and left us confident and prepared. I recommend closed eyes! We went in winter so the day wasn't super hot and sunny, which helped. In any case, take plenty of water and sunscreen and a waterproof bag, because you will get wet enough.
Great activity to do in Paraty. Incredible scenery, very pleasant walk and very interesting explanations (in English) from Mateo. And more intimate and cheaper than other kayak trips offered in Paraty. Thank you for this moment!
Great experience, the guide is very friendly and speaks English which is convenient to understand her explanations. Original tour in the mangroves with beautiful beaches! Great! I recommend
Great walk. The guide has been working in the area for many years and knows the history of the place. In addition, it is a polite and cordial Cover. The ride was very cool. We left the bay of Paraty and made the tour of the islands. Then we cross the mangrove, with exit in the river that crosses the historic center of the city. On the way, we saw other water sports practitioners.
