We had a great tour with Eustacio! He was very knowledgeable and fun. The Panamá Canal and Old Town were a nice mix for a half day tour.

The Lock System in Action: Watch in awe from the observation decks as massive cruise ships and container vessels—some carrying over 10,000 containers—are raised or lowered more than 50 feet through the historic locks. The IMAX Movie Experience: Enjoy a world-class, 3D IMAX documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman. It takes you on a captivating journey through time, from the rugged, French-led beginnings and the monumental American triumph to the modern-day expansion of the channel. The Visitor Center: Explore interactive exhibits that dive into the canal's biodiversity, its crucial role in global commerce, and the complex engineering that makes the whole system run smoothly using nothing but gravity and fresh water.
Here's what awaits you: Stunning Colonial Architecture : Walk through narrow, cobblestone streets lined with colorful buildings, grand churches, and elegant squares. You will discover iconic landmarks like the Metropolitan Cathedral and the ruins of the Santo Domingo Convent, home to the famous Arco Chato (Flat Arch). Breathtaking Panoramic Views : Head to the Paseo de las Vaultas (the old city walls) for incredible, postcard-perfect views. From here, you can see the modern city skyline across the bay, the Amador Causeway, and ships lined up waiting to enter the Panama Canal. Rich History and Culture : Learn the fascinating stories of how this walled city was built in 1673 to protect the population after the original city (Old Panama). Trendy Atmosphere & Local Art: Discover vibrant artisan markets where local Guna indigenous women sell colorful, handmade molas. You will also pass by some of the city's finest boutique hotels, art galleries, and lively plazas filled.
Connecting Panama City to four small Pacific islands, the Amador Causeway is one of the most scenic and relaxing spots in the country. Built using rock excavated during the construction of the Panama Canal, this vibrant 6-kilometer strip offers a perfect blend of tropical ocean breezes, modern sights, and local life. The Causeway offers the absolute best panoramic views of Panama City's towering glass skyscrapers contrasting against the blue of the Pacific Ocean. It is the ultimate spot for group photos and selfies. The Entrance to the Canal: Watch huge container ships, yachts, and sailboats line up at the Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal. You can easily see the Bridge of the Americas arching over the waterway in the distance. Vibrant Marina and Coastal Walkway: Stroll along the palm-lined paths, watch locals bike or jog by, and enjoy the lively, open-air harbor atmosphere.

While on a cruise port stop before entering the Panama Canal the next day, my wife and I booked a walking tour of the Old Town. We toured the ancient ruins, and then the current Old Town area. The tour was very walkable and interesting.
A thorough and informative overview of Panama, the Canal and a walk through Old Town with its many historic buildings. Our guide Erik was patient, accommodating and shared so much information. Very pleased.
An Unforgettable Blend of Engineering and History in Panama We recently had the pleasure of visiting both the Panama Canal and the Old Town (Casco Viejo) in Panama City, and the experience was truly incredible. At the Panama Canal, witnessing the Miraflores Locks in action is a must. Watching the massive ships being raised and lowered with such precision is an engineering marvel that you have to see in person to fully appreciate. Eric explained everything ahead of time before the ship arrived and gave us a thoroughly detailed description of how the Panama Canal works. Just a short trip away, the Old Town (Casco Viejo) offers a stunning contrast with its cobblestone streets and well-preserved colonial architecture. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with vibrant plazas, historic churches and local cafes. Whether you are a history buff or just looking for beautiful scenery, these two locations are the highlights of any trip to Panama. Don't miss out, book it today!! Thank you Eric for a fantastic day at the Panama Canal and Old Town in Panama. Finding the sloth at the end of our tour was exceptional!
Really incredible experience. We got to see the Panama Canal and all of old town! I was blown away by the people and his expertise on the country! I definitely recommend him to any future people that go to Panama
Loved the trip, Erick was amazing very informative about the history of Panama and the Canal. He took amazing pictures of us, gave great dining recommendations.
Eric was very informative, personable and amazing tour guide. He took us to the American Bridge, Panama Canal, souvenir shopping, Old Town where we saw several Cathedrals took lots of pictures, and learned the Panama history about the French, Spanish, British and Americans. All of these sites are a must see, and I will recommend Eric’s tour to everyone visiting Panama, even if you have children the tour is kids friendly. I will definitely be back to Panama.
My experience was very informative and engaging.. our tour guide Erick was super nice and knowledgeable about old town and panama Canal
Erick was extremely friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants a top class tour of the canal and the old city!!!!!!
Old town was an exciting walking tour of history, old churches and quaint shops. A must see. The canal was interesting but rather dull since no ship was passing thru. The IMAX movie was ok.
The trip was awesome. Erick was an outstanding tour leader. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the tour. The tour started in Casa Viejo, where we got a history lesson of how the city was defended against the pirates. From there, we toured the great churches in Old Town and even had some awesome geisha coffee. We then headed to the Canal, where Erick provided lots of insights that were not a part of the IMAX experience.
Seeing the canal. Also Erik was very knowledgeable about everything also the amazing churches and buildings
We were escorted around Panama by the one & only Eric! We visited interesting sites throughout the city, the Panama Canal... 🇵🇦 there was so much to see! We visited beautiful churches and other historic sites, did some shopping, hung out and had drinks by their special markets, was introduced to their special coffee and so much more. Eric took the time to give us a much needed history on his country and we even stopped by the wayside to search for sloths asleep in an almond tree 😀 We are extremely happy we chose this excursion. Less expensive than the ones being offered at the hotel and really easy to book. Eric even contacted us the night before the excursion to make sure we were prepared. Thanks for making our trip a memorable one!
The tour guide was really great and he knows a lot of facts from the places we visited, even answering random questions we had about panama history. He rocks!
The guide was very informative about the culture and was a real positive experience overall. The Coffee experience was a real vibe and the family enjoyed.
I Max movie was excellent. What we agree to pay for trip on phone was included pick up and drop off from hotel and at the end guide was asking more money for ride from at to hotel was not good experience. We were 17 friends. He asked $170.00 extra. Not good.
My family and I decided to kick off our trip to Panama with this tour. Not only did we want to see the Panama Canal, we thought the city tour portion will give us our bearings for future exploring. We booked through Viator. Our tourguide Eric picked us up at our Airbnb in Casco Viejo and brought us to the Canal in an air conditioned van. On the way, Eric gave an overview of the history of the canal. He also sold us tickets to the IMAX movie so that we were able to skip the initial line to get in. The Panama Canal is truly a marval. Witnessing massive ships navigate through the locks, with just a foot of space to spare on each side was spectacular. The experience offered an appreciateion for the canal's role in global trade and it's impact on the regions development - Eric mentioned that the canal itself has over 10,000 employees! After viewing the massive ship navigate throught the locks we went to the IMAX theater to see "A Land Divided, a World United". People often ask if this movie is worth the extra 20$ to see and the answer for me is absolutely! The movie is really well done, narated by Morgan Freeman. Totally go. Before we went to on our walking tour, Eric drove us through the cruise ship port - lots of shops and restaurants. He made a stop at the iconic colorful PANAMA sign and we were lucky enough to see a slot in the wild near the entrance to the Smithsonian reserve. Once the driving tour was complete, we set off on a walking tour through Panama's historic Old Town. We were taken through the cobblestone strees, colonial-era architeture and vibrant busy plazas. We went in an out of old churches. My favorite was the San Jose Church with the golden altar. He took us through “Paseo La Bovedas” - which is really pretty. On one side of this paseo is loads of booths selling crafts, hats, jewlery etc. On the other side is a great view of new Panama with beautiful pink flowers. Every moment of this tour was filled with wonder and discovery. Whether you're a history buff, nature enthusiast, or simply seeking adventure, this excursion offers something for everyone. It's a must-do experience for anyone visiting Panama City.
We had an amazing day in Panama City with our knowledgeable docent, Erick, from the PANAMA YOUR WAY team. The company's website is excellent, with clear, informative, and easy-to-navigate pages. We saved valuable time by ordering our tickets in advance for the Panama Canal Visitor Center on their website. Our group of six friends arrived in Panama City on the Norwegian Bliss. A few days before our arrival, the company reached out to me by email and provided me with our guide's name and telephone number. As Amador Cruise Terminal is currently under construction, we were given detailed instructions on where to meet our guide. Erick was one of the best docents we had during our 15-day cruise. He was energetic and interesting, and we thoroughly enjoyed our day together. Our tour began with a visit to the exciting Panama Canal Visitor Center. We then climbed the beautiful Ancon Hill, which offered breathtaking city views, and visited a small museum that described the life and history of the Black Panamanian People. The Old Town was stunning, with its beautiful restoration. Erick then took us to a unique restaurant that served exceptional Panamanian food. Before returning to our ship, we saw the modern new city with its impressive skyscrapers. Our day together passed like a breeze, and we enjoyed every single moment of it. Thank you, Erick, for creating such fantastic memories. I highly recommend PANAMA YOUR WAY for cruise-ship travelers - it's the best choice for those with limited time on shore.
A very good tour, Erick was very helpful, answered all the questions, friendly, and with great knowledge about all parts of the tour.
Our guide, Erik was knowledgeable, pleasant and very efficient. The whole process was smooth and effortless. We were picked up at the airport as planned, dropped off at our hotel for the night, and picked up at 7:30 the following morning as planned (actually Erik was waiting for us, when we walked out at 7:20). He was informative, and made sure that we stayed on schedule, as we had a tight window. He then drove us from Panama City to Colon to catch our cruise. Everything, including our agreed upon cost, was as expected. Erik was a gentleman, and the tour was memorable.
Erick did a terrific job looking after the four of us, one of whom has walking difficulties and uses an electric scooter. He was with us for the Panama canal visitor center each step of the way, understood our needs and tailored the excursion accordingly. We strongly recommend this Viator excursion to anyone that reads this review!
Tour operator cancelled the tour. He said I was the only one who signed up. He say i wouldn’t be charged. It was too late to find and book another tour with someone else.
Highly recommend. Eric really was the highlight of my trip. Turned out to be a private tour! He even went out of his way to find me a sloth :) I felt very safe with him. He is super knowledgeable.
The guide was knowledgeable and the whole tour experience was good. The Canal tour and the Old town tour was amazing.
It was a very small group and Erick was excellent very knowledgeable of the history. He was very friendly and kind
I am a first time visitor to Panama, and found Erick was an excellent guide. He is very personable and answered all of my questions.
The tour guide was great and informative. Everything was planned out so well that we got to make the most of seeing the Canal and Old Town. Definitely a recommend!
This was a wonderful experience. There was an issue with my booking going through but Eric was very accommodating either way. The tour itself viewed a lot of Panamas history and the Canal itself. It was amazing and Eric was so knowledgeable. We even saw a sloth in a tree sleeping which was the highlight for me. I didn’t expect that at all.
Excellent tour, 100% recommended! Tony was nice, friendly and very helpful, he also knows a lot about the city. Great experience and tips.
The flexibility and spontaneity of our group and how our guide responded to our needs. Our guide made me feel that he really cared that I was enjoying myself.
This was FANTASTIC. Even after I was the only guest booked, he didn't cancel. It became a private tour and he took his time. I was a kid in a history candystore. 🥰. Highly recommend.
Erick was awesome! Very professional and knowledgeable about the canal and the old city. He always gave more info as we were driving
Tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, patient, everything was calm and nice, we were able to take pics and go into stores and it was just perfect!
Eric was a great tour guide. He paced the information based on our interests. He spoke English well and answered all our questions intelligently.
Erick was an exceptional tour guide, very knowledgeable and a lovely guy. Very easy going and made the tour so enjoyable. We learned so much and saw a lot more of the city than we would have on our own. He gave some great recommendations of places to go and restaurants to try. Highly recommend this tour 😊
Super informative and interesting trip. We have seen as much as possible during 5 hours! Erick is a great guide, I enjoyed the trip a lot!
Erick he was an excellent tour guide really tried to answer all questions and gave a great account of: The Panama Canal History. He was very courteous and patient with my 84 year old mom. He takes pride in his job and loves it.. He spent way more time with us than we expected. He went out of his way several times to make sure we had a great experience. I highly recommend Erick for your tour. (Panama Canal and City Tour)
Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable. We really enjoyed the Canal and seeing the Old City.
Touring the Panama Canal and old town Panama our guide was able to tell us about all the history of Panama.the IMAX film was fantastic
Two major features of the tour were canal lock visit and walking tour around the old part of the city. All very interesting. Our guide, Erich was excellent.
Well let's start with the customer service which was awesome. I had a bit of a connection problem with flights and they were swift to respond and help me out with making sure that I wasn't going to miss the tour. Thank you very much for that. The guide Tony promptly picked me up at my hotel and was friendly and cheerful as we drove around getting the rest of the group, some of whom were less prompt. He gave us useful and interesting information throughout the entire drive and answered all our questions. He switched seamlessly between English and Spanish when giving this information and while my Spanish isn't great it is sufficient to know that he gave the same info in both languages. We arrived at the Miraflores Locks with good time to see the ships passing through. The Amador Causeway was less thrilling but had the bathrooms which were nice. The tour of the Casco Viejo was well done and informative and he was very patient with the stragglers and wanderers. In all, I would totally recommend this tour.
The shopping was a little boring....wish we had done the city tour instead. The canal was very interesting we saw propane tanker travelling through it. Would recommend the canal experience for sure.
Tour guide Tony was great, very informative. Minor drawback was because of time we could only see one boat pass through the Canal so it was good that I went there on my own the day before.
Tony was a really great guide who took time to explain everything and was very patient with us. Would highly recommend this as a good way of experiencing the canal and the city.
Three couples from the US took this tour after a pervious day tour of the city and one set of canal locks. We also are scheduled for a 10 day cruise thru bthe canal and ports north on the Viking Star. The tour narrators were superb in English, Spainish and German- very knowledgeable. Buffet food was excellent- staff was very personable and professional. Really enjoyed the entire day on the Pacific Princess.
No bottled water offered-no Wi-Fi and very little explanation of the thing we were seeing. Very disappointing for a Viator tour!
Tony did a great job! I really recommend this tour. He knows a a lot about Panama and is a very nice guy.
Really enjoyed this tour with Ernesto. Learned much more about the Canal, Panama history, and US involvement than I had in school, which I am appreciative of. We were shown some interesting places in the outside of the city and even had lunch at a spot right on the water typically frequented by locals, which was great. Tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and added his unique touch to the material. Definitely recommend while in Panama.
The entire experience was wonderful. Eric was very accommodating, and knowledgeable ! I would definitely try another tour with Eric.
Watched a ship pass through the canal, walked the old town and the causeway. Great day - worth the money
