This 4-hour walking tour begins at Plaza Herrera, in front of the luxurious American Trade Hotel, once the base of the notorious Ciudad de Dios criminal group. Known as Grayskull, the hotel’s structure was marked by graffiti that covered its walls. The tour is led by former gang members from Ciudad de Dios, who now work with a nonprofit organization that has rehabilitated ex-criminals and helped them reintegrate into society. As you stroll through the historic center, they’ll share stories of the violent past and point out important buildings and forgotten footways between Calle 9 and Calle 13. The tour ends at Callejón Fortaleza, a street that was once a hiding place for criminals and is now a vibrant spot with local eateries.
