Amazing all day trip for our family of five. We went whale watching, snorkeling, went on a private beach, had a barbecue on the boat, and went deep sea fishing. It was fantastic. I highly recommend.

Very cooperative and attentive service. The ride was long, but they were patient and gave the correct advice on what to look out for. We got some fabulous shots too.

A fabulous day trip! We saw whales, dolphins, went fishing and caught tuna and Spanish mackerel, and also went to two uninhabited islands where we shelled and snorkeled. Our Captain Miguel was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The trip was kid friendly and we had a full barbecue for lunch on the boat. (Kosher upon request). I would recommend this trip to the Pearl Islands. Make sure to bring your sunscreen. Even if it is overcast!!

I love the team at Gem. I had to cancel a prior trip due to a last minute change of plans. They held my deposit at full value and applied it almost a year later to my trip. Very classy. I booked their new 38’ boat; it was like being in a Lexus on the water - super comfortable and fast. Miguel and Joelle made the day memorable and fun. The Amberjack ceviche and the grilled mackerel were mouthwatering. It’s gonna be hard to eat “fresh” fish in restaurants back home thinking about how good today’s catch tasted on the boat. Getting on the water at the crack of dawn was well worth it. I can’t wait to do a two-day to chase the big fish. Thank you to the entire Gem team.

Was amazing time that we had we took a 37 foot boat for two couples, and we even ordered kosher food on board. They took us on an eight hour cruise to the most beautiful islands of Pearl Island. The captain and his crew were amazing and such a great time I would highly recommend very professional service and clean and on time.!

My son and I went with them for an afternoon fishing session and had a good time. The crew clearly knew what they were doing and got us fish while telling us stories about the Panama Canal and the area where we were. The trip’s highlight was the fresh made ceviche and the sunset cruise on the way back.

We spent a day with our friends celebrating a leap year birthday. Miguel and his first mate Moses made the day an exceptional celebration. Everyone that wanted to fish caught a fish and the rest of us enjoyed the scenic trip with great food. Miguel took us to two pristine islands in the Pearl Islands off the shore of Panama City. We had enough time to explore and enjoy good food. It was a perfect day thanks to Miguel who is the best boat captain ever!!

I highly recommend Gem Charters for their fantastic services and a fun day under the sun. Jennifer was so helpful during the booking process and answered all of our questions so promptly. Captain Miguel and his co-captain were excellent and so reliable! They accommodated all of our requests and made sure we saw everything we wanted to experience. They safely took us to remote islands and gave us a tour of the Panama Canal - Captain Miguel spoke very clear English so we learned a lot about the canal and it's history! Thank you Gem Charters for creating fun memories for my friends and I and making it the highlight of our trip. We would absolutely recommend Gem to our friends in Panama for when they have visitors.

We had such a fantastic day with Moses and Oscar and I can't recommend them enough. They took us to a private beach at the archipelago for us to snorkel, taking into consideration the tides so we had the best possible experience. Jennifer at the office was also super professional and friendly and gladly answered all our questions (they were a lot). She also made sure to acomodate our request for a fully kosher catering service. 5 out of 5!

This was a great trip. They provided quality fishing and snorkeling equipment and listened to what we wanted to do on the trip. We caught some nice fish and enjoyed snorkeling.

We were so looking forward to our day-trip to the Pearl Islands, which turned out to be a huge disappointment. We rented the 46' Viking, and paid a whopping $3000 USD because we believed the trip would be as advertised. They promised a bilingual crew, "seamless communication," luxury and pampering and a full day of island hopping. The crew did not speak English. There were so many things we tried to communicate - that we wanted to dock the boat on an island, find a nice beach. That some of us wanted to go fishing while others might prefer to be left on land. That some of us were feeling seasick due to choppy waters, so please find a calm spot, and refrain from cutting the engine. But the crew did not understand us, and we could not understand them. So instead of beginning the day by finding a dock and going to a beach (as we asked), they moored the boat off an island and we were told to get off and swim to shore - which was not what we asked for. We spent about an hour at that island, and then were taken to another, again not given options, just taken. At that point the ocean was extremely choppy and we began to feel seasick as the boat lurched from side to side. We asked them to find us a calm spot - they didn't understand. Instead they moored the boat off the coast of another island, and we felt so seasick, and needed to get off the boat, but there were no docks and the water was too rough to swim. So they called a water taxi to take us to shore, and charged us extra. We all got to the beach, thinking that the crew would follow and bring us supplies - like water, food, snorkeling gear. Nope. They remained on the boat as we made our way on an island we knew nothing about. And then, after only 20 minutes, they sent the water taxi to pick us up. When we said that we'd prefer more time, the driver told us that we could get on his boat or swim. We were then asked if we wanted to go fishing, and we said that we were too seasick for that, but would prefer to go back to the first island. The crew refused, and instead took us back to the city. After only about 1.5 hours on the actual islands. On an excursion that was supposed to be full-day, and cost $3000. We were literally in disbelief over the lack of service, communication, and how little we got for the cost. After the fact, we asked the company for a refund because the product was not at all as advertised. Instead we were offered a nominal discount on a future excursion with them, and were subsequently ignored by them. This company is unethical, and the product is not at all as advertised. Beware!

The best host in Panama. The experience its amazing!! The ride was very smoth and very family oriented! The crew was amazing!!

SO MUCH BETTER THAN I ANTICIPATED. We read the reviews and thought ok, sure, is it REALLY that great and it was! We felt very safe and cared for with our two person team. They allowed took us to some really cool spots, they made us an amazing BBQ and even brought us breakfast when we were unable to time it right with our hotel. Plenty of food and drink provided. Highly recommend

Amazing Girls trip! Had an incredible time with Captain Miguel and Moses! We caught so many fish then went to a couple islands and they filleted the the fish and took them to a small restaurant where they were cooked. It was the the highlight of of trip. I can’t recommend enough.

He's funny, knowledgeable, and accommodating! We upgraded to the Toda Mar boat and it was perfect! Highly recommend booking an all day trip and upgrading to a larger boat! Thanks for everything guys! Amazing trip! The whole crew made everything outstanding and went beyond to make our trip an amazing experience. We saw dolphins, rays and the highlights of the trip was whale watching! They had the best knowledge of high tides and low tides to make the best of each beach that we visited. My kids 8 and5, had a fenomenal experience fishing and learning about navigating, sea life and whale watching. Truly recommend trip!

First of all the entire crew was so nice and knowledgeable. The yatch was very comfortable and surprisingly didn’t move as much despite some waves. The made us feel secure and kept us informed of everything happening around us, showing us fish, Islands, DOLPHINS, and WHALES. They also had top notch fishing equipment and we managed to catch lunch. We went to several Islands, all of them beautiful. They took us to some beaches that seemed private so we had them all for ourselves. And the cherry on top, they took us whale and dolphin watching which is something we’re not likely to ever forget. Overall highly recommended.

I was looking for a very special, last minute surprise for my wife. The team at the concierge desk at the Sofitel Casco Viejo were amazing. They connected me with the team at Panama Gem Charters around 9pm and by 10pm, I had personally met with the owner and had a charter set up for 8am the next morning. Panama Gem had a car arrive on time and delivered us to the private dock area. We were welcomed aboard and underway within 10 minutes. The sail took ~1.5 hours to get to the islands and it was smooth and enjoyable; offering an amazing view of the Panama City skyline, the open ocean, and then the adventure of the Peral islands coming into view. My wife wanted to fish and within minutes of getting into the island area, lines were in the water!!! We caught a couple that we had to release and eventually caught an Amber Jack that Capt Miguel and crew immediately made into Sashimi. It was exactly what I had hoped. We were able to see the Pearl Islands, the island used for Survivor, and even "jumped ship" to swim ashore for lunch at one of the few islands with residents. The day could not have gone smoother and it was definitely a highlight of the trip. Captain Miguel was friendly, professional and very accommodating. He allowed us to be part of the decision on where we went or how long we stayed at a particular spot. He was knowledgeable of the wind and water conditions and explained what to expect throughout the day. The boat was comfortable and had space inside with air conditioning as well as a good size bathroom. We were offered to even use the bedroom to relax if we so chose. Overall, I would recommend the team at Panama Gem Charters. this was my first charter and based on this experience, I would highly recommend this team and Panama Gem for anyone in the future!!! *Of note, no photos due to my phone getting ruined due to the failure of my waterproof bag - but the photos in my mind are of my wife laughing, smiling and enjoying a trip that I was very blessed to be able to provide.

Our captain, Miguel and his deckhand, Moses, did a fantastic job at fishing, and we also went to a small island that they had arranged for a small outdoor, on the beach, restaurant to cook our fish. We caught a tuna and some mahi-mahi. The mahi that we caught weighed between 30 to 60 pounds. Miguel also went out of his way to freeze our fish for us to be able to take back to the United States. He made all of the arrangements for this to happen.

It was an awesome day! The whole experience from booking to boarding was smooth and hassle-free. The crew was super friendly, making us feel welcome right from the start. The islands themselves were absolutely gorgeous, and we had a blast exploring them. The weather was perfect - a beautiful sunny day that made it even more relaxing. The food was also excellent. All in all, this was a great day out with the family. If you're in Panama City and looking for a cool, laid-back adventure, I highly recommend the Pearl Islands Island Hopping experience.

The islands are beautiful. The beach we visited was pristine and marine wildlife was abundant. Fishing was slow but we ended the day with Mahi-Mahi. The boat ride was rough but the boat was capable. Overall, this was a good experience.

We had a fantastic day visiting Pearl Islands with Gem Charters. The captain was attentive to our needs and outdid himself to make sure we had a phenomenal trip. The islands themselves are breathtaking and private. I highly recommend Gem charters and can't wait to come again!

What an amazing day. First - scheduling and picking out what we wanted was a breeze with gem. But then we got to the boat and captain Miguel and Oscar were incredible. They not only made sure everything was taking care of but they were on top of everyone on board at all times and made sure we had a great time and more importantly everyone stayed safe. We had 3 generations of people on board and they accommodated each and every one. Miguel was flexible the whole day with regards to what we did and when we did it. He made sure we got to do some fishing which my oldest daughter really wanted to do. She was not disappointed and caught a giant Mahi Mahi (see pic). Oscar cut and cleaned the fish and made fresh ceviche! My kids also enjoyed the inflatable pool! Boat side bbq while swimming to secluded beach with stings rays below us is the stuff I can only dream about. This crew made it happen. I highly recommend this company and I definitely want to do it again. And if I do, I will be asking for Miguel and Oscar and I suggest you do too! Absolutely the highlight of our trip

I researched a number of ways to explore Pearl Islands and was so glad I booked with Gem Charters. Captain Miguel couldn’t have been more accommodating to my family of 7. He deferred to the group to decide how long to fish, snorkel and/or explore the picturesque islands he took us to. We decided not to opt for the kosher barbecue because of the added cost and bought snacks along. Food was not a problem, as the crew prepared the freshest ceviche - made from the Spanish Mackerel my son caught earlier on the ride. We also passed dolphins and dozens of bids diving into the water to catch fish. I was also very impressed with all the knowledge Miguel imparted about the wild life and geography. Compared to the steep price of the ferry, Gem Charters should be a no brained in my book!

Our experience with Gem Charters was superb from start to finish. We took the trip as a family group of 4 couples (parents and adult children+spouses) and had the most amazing day. Our main purpose of the trip was to island-hop the Pearl Islands but in addition to that we were treated to incredible and unexpected fishing (and whale sightings) that resulted in a serious haul of tuna, mahi mahi, and jack, and then some amazing food prepared by Captain Miguel and Oscar, who were excellent throughout the day--true professionals that put everyone at ease knowing we were in competent hands. This charter definitely the highlight of our trip to Panama. Their office communication was excellent as well--we left important documents on the boat and they were diligent in coordinating getting them back to us before we left Panama City.

A bit expensive for what it was, and definitely bring sun screen, but overall it was a great experience and the crew was fantastic. I would do it again if they offered a discounted price.

With only one day available for fishing from Panama City, I put my bet on GEM, capt. Mike & deck hand José, heading for Las Perlas - 35 nautical miles off coast. 8 dorados and 1 jack crevale later my conclusion is; excellent guiding, fishing, gaffing and company. I’d do it again!

This was the highlight of our week in Panama! What an incredible experience. We had bad weather on the day we scheduled but Miguel suggested we could reschedule to a different day and it worked out much better. We caught 3 fish and made ceviche with one of them and then cooked the other one on an island we stopped at. So delicious. I loved that we could personalize the experience—we wanted to spend most of the day fishing so Miguel took us to a few spots, but if we wanted to go snorkeling or stop at other islands he was game for that as well. Highly recommend!!

Don’t Miss this one!!! We went out with friends for a day trip and all my husband wanted was to catch a fish- he had been so excited when we told him we had chartered a boat for the day! Miguel (our captain)and his assistant were fantastic- friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and so pleasant to be around. We had some rain but even that couldn’t ruin the fantastic day we had! While we were cruising we happened to come upon a school of dolphins feeding off a school of sardines. Can I say WOW?!!! It was incredible!!! Not just one or two but a whole school of dolphin swimming and jumping around our boat!!! My hubby caught a jackfish( hope that is the correct term) and was super thrilled. He almost caught a large Mahi too but unfortunately it was not meant to be that day. Nonetheless, the jackfish was filleted right on the boat and served with soy wasabi and tiger milk- so yummy and fresh!!! Don’t miss this experience!!! It’s a once in a lifetime adventure……

The best day out on the water. Crew (Miguel and José) were fun, kind, knowledgeable and pretty good cooks. A spectacular excursion to see some of the best Panama has to offer. Lots of laughs and my favorite day spent in Panama. Highly recommend these guys. Our original day was stormy because of storms due to hurricaines in the Carribean so they totally accommodated us and moved our day to later in the week so we could have the best experience possible. I recommend to book early in your trip in case this happens. You dont want to miss out!!

From the hotel pick up to the entire day of whale watching, fishing and island hopping Miguel and Jose where amazing. I cannot say how nice and knowledgeable these great guys are. They spotted a whale and spent so much time helping to make sure we got great pictures. Took us to one island for lunch that was fresh and delicious. Off at other islands to explore.
