The tour was fantastic, with perfect weather and a knowledgeable, friendly guide who provided insightful information about Panama. The vehicle was clean, spacious, and had great air conditioning. The price was reasonable and worth it for what was included. However, I encountered some issues with the company. Despite selecting an English-speaking guide, they sent someone who only spoke Spanish, so I had to translate as much as I could for my husband, which was frustrating. Additionally, I chose airport pickup, but the company unexpectedly requested an extra $15 each way, claiming that the listed price only applied to downtown Panama pickups. This important detail was not specified on their website, and they only clarified it the day before the tour. I booked three days in advance and prefer having all the information clear before the free cancellation deadline, not the day before when I’m dealing with luggage, flights, and airport logistics where I might not have internet or service. Unfortunately, any clarification or response from the company is always given the day before. Despite these issues, I would use their service again and recommend it. Now I know what to expect.
This was supposed to be an a tour in English. Our tour guide had very little English. Very hard to understand him. Disappointing.
Very professional and knowledgeable; was accommodating to see/visit other points of interest. Loved the historical facts.
Seeing the Miraflores locks was awesome, but the lack of advanced confirmation of a specific pick up time was frustrating. Also, due to a start time of 14:30, dusk was approaching after our time at the locks. Alfredo, our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable.
Our guide Edwin was awesome! He took us all over, & gave us much info on the history & culture of Panama. 🇵🇦 Highly recommend this Tour 👍🏽👍🏽
The Panama canal tour was interesting but very relaxing activity. The narrators ensured that it was done not only in spanish but clearly in english. The meals and refreshments were quite adequate for everyone on the tour
I really liked my excursion. Fairly priced for the things I experienced. I would have rated five stars if the cost of the Locks were included (cost was ONLY for a reservation NOT a ticket) and if my tour guide spoke a bit more English.
Although Alfredo was nice, but because the canal closed we couldn't enjoy a full experience. We did not get a change to walk through Casco Viejo. Spent most of It in the car. It was ok
Our driver Mario dropped us off at Miraflores Locks Visitor Center and we were able to see 2 large ships pass thru the Canal, toured the Museum at our own pace and learned so much!!! Our tour thru the City was excellent too. Thank you Mario for being a SUPER TOUR GUIDE
The worst tour we've ever been on. Guide only spoke very basic English. Didn't conduct tour as described. Drove recklessly and texted/ made calls whilst driving. Tried to claim money back through viator but they were not interested so avoid them too! Terrible, absolute waste of money!!
Content of the tour was great. Our English speaking guide wasn’t very fluent in English so we had difficulty communicating. However, he was pleasant and tried very hard to give us a good tour.
I used Barefoot Panama Tours and they were great. Gonzo was my tour guide. He did a fantastic time. Would gladly use them again. Kevin Covington, La.
Definitely NOT worth to buy tickets to the Panama canal through Trip Advisor. Despite the fact you think the trip is arranged and includes pick-up, entrance (and even some water) I still had to buy the tickets @Miraflores locks (20 USD per person!) myself. So can Trip Advisor explain to me what is this offer about? To everybody: Simply take a Uber to the locks (45 minutes max) and pay entrance yourself.
We took a layover of 8 hours so we could go in a tour for 4 to 5 hours , we meet Gerardo and gave us a very nice tour, went to the old panama and went to eat to a nice and very good restaurant, and of course spent like 2 hours watching the large boats going thru the channel ,
<p>Our English guide did not turn up and the driver informed that he was waiting for police due to auto accident. However the driver did manage to explain most of the info to his best ability. The movie on Panama canal shown at the Miraflores locks visitor center was great and also we could watch the ships going through the canal from the observation deck. The tour included visit to historic city Casco Viejo and Causeway to islands.</p>
<p>Our trip was rather disorganized. No email was sent confirming the time or location of the pickup. I therefore had to call to confirm and get the details. We went first to the Canal 1.5 hours before the ships were to pass. It seems they driver should have known this ahead of time. We then left for other parts of the tour and returned to the canal to see the boats passing. We drove the same route several times to the point I could have driven it without a driver. The driver was pleasant but the tour was not well scheduled.</p>
<p>I specifically asked for an English speaking guide. The guide we had spoke almost no English. It was very difficult to communicate. Consequently we didn't learn much about the area other than what we could see. Disappointed.</p>
<p>Unfortunately Viator could not locate or get in touch with the supplier who was supposed to do my scheduled tour, but I eventually did the tour using a different resource and was able to see Panama City, the Canal, Old Town, MultiPlaza Pacifica Mall and Soho Mall, which was AWESOME!</p>
<p>the city tour was very short, think we did more walking it ourselves than the quick drive through we had. our driver was very nice and informative on the canal tour..spent a lot of time so we could experience ships coming through canal.. i will also say since traffic was so bad getting back that he did make a deal and came back next day to finish tour, which was very nice..even went a little extra</p>
