Itinerary
After picking you up at your hotel we will go to the rainforest. After a 45-minute drive we will arrive to Gamboa where we will board a gondola in the aerial tram (unique in Panama) to observe the canopy from above and we will find different species of birds and with little luck sloths and monkeys. After a 600 meters route on the aerial tram we will reach the Observation Tower for panoramic views of the Soberania National Park, the Chagres River, the Panama Canal, and some native Emberá villages.
Later we will visit the Sloth Sanctuary where we will observe and learn about life and habits of the sloths and the efforts for the conservation of the species. We will visit the Butterfly House where we will observe the butterflies that live in the rainforest and we will also visit the orchid and frog exhibitions. We will return to Panama City after a 45-minutes ride.

Nice visit to the rainforest. It is not really a wildlife viewing opportunity but some nice view of river and canal. The sloth sanitary was ok but preferred the Smithsonian one we had visited the previous day where the Sloths in natural environment and exhibits had more information. A nice day but felt over priced for what you saw on the tour. Guide was friendly.
Alejandro picked us up promptly. There were only three of us on this tour, which made it almost a private tour. Although it was a little rainly, we had a great day, Alejandro was prepared with rain ponchos. We were able to see a sloth in the wild, which is apparently quite rare, and certainly a unique experience. A great way to spend a day outside the city. Thanks Alejandro.
We had an amazing time! Oliver, our guide was knowledgeable and worldly and able to discuss anything Panama, including all the flora and fauna we saw. The aerial tram above the rain forest was relaxing and peaceful, and the view from the tower amazing. The sloth sanctuary was fun and also included a butterfly area and tree frog sanctuary! Oliver was a wonderful source of information and answered everything thrown at him graciously.
A great experience. Soaring silently over rainforest in the tram was otherworldly. Loved the butterflies and sloths.
When traveling in the tram, it was very peaceful and serene. We did not see any sloths in the trees going up or down in the tram. Once you reach the top, there is a tower there that you can walk up. It is a long walk so it helps to be somewhat physically fit.
Wonderful experience from start to finish. My interactions with Monkey Adventures were very good. I had an outstanding tour guide in Ricardo. We stopped at the hotel to see the gorgeous river, then moved on to the aerial tram. After that splendid ride up to the top of the hill and the glorious views, we visited the sloths, butterflies, and tiny frogs. There is also a plant nursery with lovely orchids and other tropical plants. Ricardo is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot all along the way. We were lucky to see a sloth in the trees moving from one tree to the next. We saw a monkey, many birds, leaf cutter ants, a tortoise - amazing amount of joy packed into a half day tour. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed this tour. The aerial tram ride in the rainforest was so peaceful and beautiful. And the walk to the top of the observation tower gave you stunning views of the river and the canal. We also enjoyed seeing the sloths in the sanctuary and getting to do the butterfly house.Overall an enjoyable tour.
We had a great time gliding through the jungle canopy. Spotted a toucan and just enjoyed the ride. The observation tower was great too. Our guide Juan was very informed. Went through the sloth sanctuary, the butterfly area and the frog house. We were very pleased with the trip. Side note, on the way up we stopped by the Gamboa resort. Definitely on my list of places to stay. Absolutely gorgeous.
This was supposed to be a five hour tour. This was three hours from the minute. They picked us up until the minute they dropped us off. I spent a lot less money on a 14 hour day eight of which we were touring islands on the Caribbean. The tram was lovely no wildlife. But they cannot control that it’s called wild for a reason. But I was really disappointed with the animal experience there were five sloths that you could get within four or 5 feet of, but that was it. If you just want to see the rainforest, this is a great tour a little expensive. Our tour guide was very nice. And had a lot of great information.
We had a great time on this excursion. The aerial tram was so cool, the view is beautiful, and the crew was kind and informative. We got to see the rainforest, frogs, butterflies, lizards, tortoise, agouti, and sloths. It’s a nice half day trip.
It's a wonderful and unique experience as you travel through the trees and then climb the tower to see over the canopy
The walk itself was relatively short. The tram ride was fun. Our guide and driver were friendly. Our guide Ariel was very knowledgeable and personable.
Worth the money. A good Travel Guide who was knowledgeable. It's quite a climb getting to the top of the viewing platform at the top of the aerial tram ride but worth the effort. Platform is accessible for wheelchair users.
Took over an hour to get there and an hour on the tram to see no animals just trees. The sloth sanctuary only had 2 sloths that were out cold. Definitely not worth it
Only 4 sloths and they sleep most of the time. Nothing else to say. Guide was very pleaasant and good at explaining things.
Fun tour - our guide's enthusiasm and sweetness made everything more special! Saw lots of cool things and had a terrific day!
This is a great tour for families. The Aerial Tram was amazing with incredible views our driver and guide Abierto made the tour comfortable. Communication before and during the trip was excellent. Thumbs up Monkey Adventures.
It was a really great trip from the beginning to the end. Very clear instructions about the meeting point in Casa Viejo, a comfortable minibus came pick us up exactly on time; it was a small group, just 6 people including my husband and me. Our guide, Ariel, was very friendly and knowledgeable, he gave us a lot of information about the areas we were passing along on a way to our destination. The aerial -tram ride above rainforest canopy was amazing and the views from the observation tower were incredible! Then after a very short drive to the sanctuary we saw tropical frogs and butterflies, and visited very interesting sloth area. We weren’t fortunate to see any monkeys or birds during the trip, and I’d like to spend more time with sloths. Otherwise, the trip was really fun!
Our Guide Juan was excellent and was very knowledgeable and passionate about the place. The service was very professional.
This tour is fun. Riding the tram was everything and our tour guide was very informative and it was all around a fun tour.
Very good tour. We saw 2 Tucans and the experience is a described. The butterflies and sloth experience was amazing
What an amazing day! Juan, our tour guide for the day, was great. He pointed out sloths and toucans while we were on the aerial tram - we never would have seen them on our own. He did a great of giving us information about the area while we were on the tour. The sloths were very “active” which was neat to see. Highly recommend.
Monkey Adventures was a pleasure to work with! We booked two excursions with them for our trip back in November. Booking was very easy and Alejandro was responsive and helpful. We visited Monkey Island, Panama Canal and the Aerial tram & Rainforest. Our tour guide, Juan, was so knowledgeable and passionate about Panama. He was our tour guide for both of the excursions. We were elated when he picked us up the second time because we knew our tour was going to be another great one!! We recommend Monkey Adventures to everyone whenever we discuss our Panama trip. They will not disappoint!
We saw some beautiful scenery from the bus and ariel tram. Our guide Arial was very knowledgeable and chatty. We could have spent more time in the butterfly and frog enclosures.
Great trip. The aerial tramway was lovely, we saw howler monkeys and toucans. The view from the tower was fantastic. Our guide was very informative. The sloth sanctuary was fantastic.
It's a nice day, the place is really beautiful, the gondola, but we didn't see any animals at all and that's a bummer. Just one token from afar The guide Alejandro was lovely The house of the butterflies and the frogs and the nice lazy ones
It is a quiet experience, too high the price for what it is.For family with children, it can be pleasant, for adults does not have great expectations. It goes very slowly, you do not see any animals, you see some landscape, but from the viewpoint you have already seen the same landscape. There is discrimination depends on nationality, the Spanish speakers are ignored, example we had time to see the sloths at 11, and they had almost an hour to pick us up, and passed a group of Englishmen, in one basket they made two tourists enter, and when going to go up they tell us that they do not have to go alone, because it is a group and it was so unpleasant the answer of the staff of the attraction, that I replied if I thought we would catch it, some disease from riding in the basket that was for 6 people, and there were 4 , because we had to wait for another basket and they put us with other Spanish speakers. Attention and explanation is not the same for Spanish speakers as other languages. They wanted to keep us waiting until 13 hours to go to see the sloths because as in our schedule had passed the group, at 12 nol there was a visit, we called the agency, and at the end they visited us the sloths at 12 hours, you see them in some baskets because they are sick and are taking care of them. There is also a butterfly area that is beautiful.
Everything was charming—from picking up at the hotel, the ride with Raul explaining all the way to the return to the hotel. The driver was great....
It is the best place to see how they care lovingly and kindly or animals and the perfect environment to go with the family
