Itinerary
5:00–5:45 AM: Pick-up from your hotel in licensed 4x4 vehicles. Enjoy a 3-hour scenic drive through jungle highlands, with a 10-20 minute bathroom/snack stop along the way.
Arrival at the Port of San Blas 8:30–9:00 AM: Arrive at the port for check-in and boat assignments. While the process may feel busy and a little unstructured, the local Guna community has a well-established system, and all guests are taken care of. Board your boat for a 30-minute ride across the Caribbean Sea to the first island. Depending on wind and ocean conditions, the ride can be bumpy and you may get splashed. Boats may also stop at other islands along the way to pick up or drop off guests before reaching your destination. During the boat transfer, the boat may make short stops at different islands to pick up or drop off other travelers.
Isla Perro Chico (Shipwreck) 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Spend the morning at one of San Blas’ most popular islands. Relax on white sand beaches shaded by palms, or swim in the calm turquoise waters. Just offshore lies a shallow shipwreck, a favorite snorkeling spot where colorful tropical fish gather. It’s safe and easy to explore, even for beginners, and offers one of the best underwater photo opportunities in San Blas.
Natural Pool 12:00 – 12:30 PM: Cruise out to the famous Natural Pool, a sandbar in the middle of the Caribbean Sea where the water only reaches your waist. Wade through the crystal-clear shallows, look for starfish resting on the seabed, and enjoy the surreal feeling of standing in the ocean surrounded by endless turquoise views. Note: Itinerary may change depending on weather and ocean conditions.
Isla Chichime (Lunch Stop) 1:00 – 2:30 PM: Arrive at Isla Chichime, often considered one of the most beautiful islands in the archipelago. Enjoy free time to swim, sunbathe, or walk along its wide sandy beaches. A freshly prepared island lunch (fish, chicken, or vegetarian) is served in a rustic beachfront setting, giving you a taste of traditional Guna-style cooking.
Isla Diablo 2:30 – 3:30 PM: Your last stop is Isla Diablo, a lively little island with swaying palms and excellent swimming conditions. Take a refreshing dip, snap your final San Blas photos, or simply relax on the beach before beginning the journey back.
Boat Ride Back to the Port 3:30pm - 4:00 PM: Return to the mainland by boat. Depending on the day’s logistics, your boat may stop at other islands to pick up or drop off travelers. While these brief pauses add to travel time, they also provide glimpses of authentic island life as you pass by smaller communities and fishing boats.
Drive Back to Panama City 4:00 – 7:00 PM: Meet your 4x4 driver for the return trip through the jungle highlands. The ride takes about 3 hours, with arrival in Panama City around 7:00 PM, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

This was an amazing experience. Getting in and out of the boats is an adventure on its own. Stopping at several islands was so nice, we only wish we could have stayed longer at the natural pool stop. We enjoyed the ride, the water and a day well spend island hopping on San Blas islands. I would definitely do it again.
Excellent trip. You do have to get up early and it’s a long traveling distance, but worth the wait. I never knew Panama had this to offer.
We had a really bad moment in triste experience. not terminal machine To pay with credit card. The food Was bad , not chers in the Beach. The snorkel equipment dirty and the worst part is that the helper guide stolen 100 dolars from my wallet also was looking for more from the back pack of my coworkers
Long ride from playa bonita to the port to san blas. You cross over a mountain. Our driver Jonny picked us up punctually. We picked up two other groups. You stop at the supermarket on the way for breakfast. If you get car sick you should bring something. You gwt to the port and meet up with orher groups. You then go with another guide onto the boats that take you island hopping. Our guide was adrian. He took us to 3 islands and one samd bar to see star fish. It was over cast and the water still was warm and crystal clear turquoise. The first island had a sunken ship wirh snorkeling. We brought our own but they rented some. There was a bar with drinks and food for purchase. Some brought their own with them. The second island a tastey lunch by the Gunu tribe was provded and mpre swimming and the final island also had swimming and items to purchase. Pur driver jonny was quiet but very attentive and considerate to ensuring everyone felt safe. Upon our return he was attentive and waiting for us at the dock for the long ride home.
Although we started at 5am it was well worth it to see all the islands we saw. All the islands were beautiful, the people we met were so much fun. Staff was very polite and answered all the random questions we had. Be prepared for a 2.5 ride up and back. You will be tired when you're done but it will be well worth it. I would definitely do it again.
Pleasant trip and wonderful beaches. Food was great too. Try the Coco Loco. Bring ginger pills if you arent comfy riding a roller coaster for 2h straight. The hills of San Blas are a nice little bonus experience but most will need a little something for the nausea to enjoy them.
Great tour! They even arranged airport pick up which was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone interested in seeing these gorgeous islands.
Well organized. Staff very friendly. Long drive but it was worth it. The islands were beautiful. My only recommendation is they should use a more comfortable vehicle or fit 4 people instead of 6. My husband and I were fine but the couple on the back was definitely not - too tight and uncomfortable for such a long drive.
Car was too small, no room for the legs. driver late a lot. did not see all the Islands that the program included. …etc
Well organized and everybody was super helpful and friendly! Made a stop at the grocery store on the way to and from the port.
I liked the trip a lot, but be aware that it‘s kind of simple on the islands and you‘re mainly relaxing the whole day ;)
I'm not a beach person, and yet one of the most paradise like unreal places. First off, we drove to the Port. While it is a necessity i loved seeing g nature there. Joel, our driver drove super safe through the windy roads. The boat ride with full speed alone is fun. But...once you get to the islands, it's just...mind blowingly beautiful.
I can’t recommend this tour enough! Our driver picked us up promptly, and did a great job of getting us out to the docks. We stopped at a gas station along the way, that had a small cafe inside. While there is some off road parts, overall most of the drive is now paved. They’re visibly working on the parts that aren’t, I wouldn’t consider the ride overly bumpy. Once you get to the docks, there’s a small restroom area, we had more than enough time to change. The ride to the islands was smooth, the water was warm and clear, just as beautiful as the pics!
Great tour with great driver, company and boat service. Hotel pick up was seamless. It is worth it to wake up early and enjoy the islands for the day with locals and other travelers. San Blas is beautiful!
Absolutely, a beautiful place!!! We got to see so much of the islands within a day. The sun was out so it just made the experience even better. Lunch and snack included with our trip and all the guides were very nice. Adrian, our driver was knowledgeable about the Island and Panamá city. The road it’s a little bumpy but I would definitely recommend it to anyone to visit San Blas.
The driver was on time. I really enjoyed the experience. The San Blas islands are beautiful! I wish we spent more time on the last island.
Great service and itinerary, highly recommend The drive down to the island is a little bumpy but totally worth it once you see the beaches and blue water. Our instructor was very accommodating, friendly, and ensured we each had the beat experience while visiting the islands
Very beautiful islands! If you visit panama do not miss it. White sand beaches, good weather and good snirkeling spots :)
Nice beaches. We went to two islands and two sandbanks (I.e. natural pools). Nature was pretty. Driver was ok too. But once handed over to the boat team, we felt like being processed from point to point in an unloving way. The selection of drinks to buy (and the price of any basic cocktail) wasn’t ideal. The lunch didn’t taste at all and it was the only thing I ate the whole day so I know IT gave me food poisoning. There was a young woman traveling alone and the guys were a bit too aggressive making advances. That’s not ok.
Absolutely beautiful place! Also you get to see so much of the islands even within one day. The sun was out so it just made the experience even better. Lunch and snack included and the guides are all very nice. Would definitely recommend!!
San Blas was beautiful. A true paradise experience. The boat ride and islands were good. I would have been happy just going to the island where we ate lunch and the middle of the ocean swim experience rather than jumping from place to place. Take the warning seriously about the road trip there and back, it is brutal. Dramamine needed for sure! The grocery stop is really more like a 7-11 or quick mart so be prepared. The fish lunch includes the whole fish. The other thing to note is your guides are really just drivers. There is no narration or background history. This may be a language thing, but just good to know.
I had a long day the day before. I forgot to set my alarm and the driver waited for me after getting a call from front desk. It didn’t take me more than 5 minutes to go downstairs in the lobby. There were three people in the van and we picked up another person. We stopped by a market to get some snacks or breakfast. We went on a Sunday, and there were a lot of people going to San Blas as well. I wish the driver spoke more English even though a few in the vehicle knew how to speak Spanish. We visited two islands and had stopped by a sand bar with starfish. I didn’t get off the boat but I recommend getting a stair rope. The guides were nice. The lunch was good even though we didn’t eat until almost 2 pm. Before you know it, we only had 45 minutes to enjoy the beach. Yes, the drive is bumpy. I found out that a customer had declined to come because he had a bad hang over. There was a vehicle that stopped on the way because their people had nausea because of alcohol too. If you book trip, do not drink the night before! Having five people in the group was perfect. San Blas is beautiful. I would tell people to spend a night there because the drive and boat ride was long. You need more time to enjoy.
The islands visit and the boat guides to the island was awesome. The car ride to the port experience was great and I a person that like long and out of the way trips. However, I could how people would rate the transportation to be bad. The drive should speak more English and tell us more about the area we travel through. Also stuffing 7 persons including the driver into a Toyota fortuna is miserable especially on rough and bumpy roads. 4 to 5 passengers would be better and with room for backpacks and ice chests.
Very interesting trip, picturesque islands with pretty beaches, warm sea. Long but nice drive, a bit bumpy, both on land and sea. Washrooms very primitive, accommodation rustic and food basic. Organization a bit chaotic and a lot of tourists. But overall it feels good to visit the archipelago.
Lovely tour, the islands are heavenly, too beautiful. Would have been better if the tour was an hour shorter, the third stop was unnecessary. The pick up car was very comfortable, the driver was pleasant, and the road isn't as bad as I thought it would be from the tour description. Very professional tour company, would sure recommend them
The driver, Juan is a great driver. The boat trip staff help me out when I need to get in and out of the boat. The only issue is I have is my lunch, chicken with rice is small. I have white meat. I didn't ask for it. But I saw people with dark meat was much bigger.
A must do adventure tour.Fantastic from start to finish. Well organised, good comms via WhatsApp. The islands are incredible like paradise azure water white sand, snorkel, swim see starfish. Kuna people welcoming, guides are very sweet, driver Adrian was nice and helpful.make sure you take a waterproof bag for phone on the boat ride. All part of the adventure getting wet! The drive to the port is a bit bumpy and twisty but nothing to complain about. Amazing day stunning islands recommend tao. Long day but well worth it.
What an amazing adventure. The drive and boat ride are long, but lots of fun. The vehicles are clean and comfortable to sit 6 people. Recommend to do it as a group and enjoy!!! Guides are friendly and engaging when you need them and let you do your thing when you don't.
This is a MUST do excursion. So disclaimer, the ride through the mountains is scary but our driver Adrian was an expert and had the truck with tires that did the job. The islands are beautiful, the food the Gunas cooked for lunch taste so fresh and amazing. I agree that you should take some anti-nausea medicine if you have a sensitive stomach. Also bring everything you would bring to the beach at home. Towels and things aren’t provided. All in all a great way to relax and a hidden gem in the world.
The swimming pool was fun. Lunch was good. Guide was pretty much useless. He said almost nothing. Tríp back was delayed 40 minutes waiting for late arrivals and then further by a separate stop to deliver luggage forcpeople not even in our vehicle. Not fun when you are tired.
Amazing day - highlight of our trip! We were prepared for the bumpy ride …it’s definitely a bumpy ride…but so worth it! I know my elderly parents would not have enjoyed the bumpy roads nor the bumpy boat ride but it was Fine for us. The beaches and water are absolutely beautiful. The stop along the way was timed perfectly both times for a much needed bathroom and snack break. It was wonderful learning about the Guna people from our driver on the way back.
Our driver, Joel was awesome. He got us to our destination safely. On arrival, everyone was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The views were spectacular, the water felt great. Definitely worth the experience.
Don't miss this tour, we had a bliss! San blas islands are amazing! The road is very curvy but it worth it! Be prepared :)
This excursion was recommended to me by a friend who did it last year. San Blas islands are beautiful, The road to get to the dock is horrendous. It is the worst pot holes you can imagine for almost 2 hours. Our driver was very rude, he spoke english very well until we picked up the other passengers, then for the 3 hr ride he spoke spanish to the other passengers. Once at the dock there was barely any assistance from our "tour guide" to get on the boat that wasn't secured all the way to the dock. Once at the island, our lunch order was taken. We found a spot on the beach. There is a little store to buy souvenirs. Do take your drinks and snacks with you. The lunch was flavorless. I ordered fish it looked delicious until the first bite, My friend paid extra for the lobster. It was overcooked and not seasoned. After lunch we were supposed to go snorkeling. Yet again, barely any assistance getting on the boat, we were taken to a spot to go snorkeling. They stop the boat and tell everyone to get into the water, no life vest, nothing. My friend, myself and a couple stayed on the boat. They went to two spots for snorkeling. After snorkeling they took us to another island, yet again barely assistance to get off the boat. Once we got to the second island all of a sudden our "tour guide" became very attentive..............Offering us drinks, telling jokes.........It was tip time. I tipped for my friend and I, the tour guide got an attitude with me because I told my friend not to tip him because I had already done it. Going back to the dock, it started raining. The tour guide and his staff decided to stop at their homes to change clothes while us guest waited in the rain with no protection. By the time we got back to the dock everyone was shivering. We had the same driver going back to the hotel, he spoke spanish to the other passengers for 3 hours, we were the last to be dropped off and all of a sudden the driver wanted to speak english to us after ignoring us for a total of 6 hrs. For people that work for tips I expected more friendly staff. They do the bare minimum and want you to tip them.
We had a fabulous time! Our driver Adrian was able to navigate the difficult roads with expertise and made us feel safe . Once we got to the islands we had an unbelievable time! It’s beautiful and feels like a movie set! We also loved the other stops and seeing starfish in the middle of the ocean! It was so worth the bumpy ride! Thank you
Las islas son hermosas. Todo era perfecto. You will enjoy this trip. The bumpy car ride is worth it. Driver and guide were excellent. Don't think just book!
We had an amazing stay in oir over water cabins. We felt hesitant booking it based on the previous review but we were pleasantly surprised. The cabins are basic, yes, but that is what we had expected. The Kuna family managing the property is very sweet and took us on a boat tour to other islands. Overall great experience! Already planning our next trip baco to San Blas next year, staying in tbr same cabin only this time a few more days.
Picked up on time. Travel was rough. Road was full of pot holes and was on this road for about 2 hours. However, the islands, and the shallow and clear water of San Blas are amazing and beautiful. Did snorkeling but did not see that much fish. It’s a great tour if you can tolerate the rough roads.
Because of National issue I was cancel and re-schedule multiple times. The problem was that the tour company knew about the issue a week prior and never notify us. Once we landed in panama they keep saying we are re-scheduling for the next day and making promises that we are heading out to San Blas and then last minute cancel causing us wasting of days!!! During our trip!. We cancel other tours in hopes of heading to san Blas and last minute cancels from this company cause us to waste a three days of our vacations. It’s not a trustworthy company in my experience.
The beach is the best that we have been. The food is great and people are friendly. We had a great time and it is highly recommended.
Good trip but it is FAR out of the way, and the drive to get there is brutal. If you want a relaxing beach day with a little bit of snorkeling and some food, this is the trip for you. Would be perfect if it wasn't so difficult to get there. Seriously don't underestimate the drive there and back.
Very beautiful tour of the islands, we had a great time snorkeling and relaxing. However, I would say this tour is for more adventurous travelers. It was quite a crazy car ride to the boat dock, so if you haven’t spent much time in Latin America it may be a bit surprising for you. If you are looking for a typical comfortable American style experience, this is not it. I personally loved it and felt the time in the islands itself was worth it, just wanted to provide some insight for others!
Great tour, guides were very kind. Definitely worth the 2 hour drive. Would do it again! Great communication between myself and the tour operators.
This excursion is an experience. The best part is how beautiful the beaches are and the natural pool was awesome. The worst part is the drive through the park. The roads are rough and windy. But if you can make it through that park of the journey your in for a real treat!
So this excursion requires a car ride from the west to east coast which takes 3 hours without traffic, with traffic 5 hours. The islands are beautiful but this is not a relaxing trip, as you only stay at each island for an hour. The boats that take you from island to island are small and you get wet. They also did not provide snorkeling equipment so we didn't see much except for 2 star fish in the natural pool. This is not for those who are elderly or out of shape or get motion sickness. The people were nice but it is too much for one day. The driver was on time and perfect but I would stay on the west coast next time and see the islands in the Pacific and see San Blas on a different trip...
The islands are simply beautiful! We loved the opportunity to snorkel a ship wreck, see sea stars, sip Balboa on white sandy beaches, and explore the beauty of the islands. The trip through the mountains was stunning, and our driver navigated the terrain like a pro. (It is an adventurous drive, so be prepared if you get motion sickness in the car).
HIGHLY Recommended!!!! The islands are amazing, the people super nice and the trip was well organized! Bit of a long ride from Panama City but definitely worth it!!!
Was a nice tour even was cloudy day, well organized, the driver pick us up early as accorded, long drive from Panamá city, the people were very friendly, but be aware not every body speak English (we speak Spanish), I don’t give the five stars because there is a couple places to snorkel 🤿 and see good amount a fish, they give us masks but they don’ give us flippers and nobody guide you to the best place to swim. And snorkeling What was our first reason to take the tour.
San Blas is a wonderful and heavenly destination. The island is incredible, more incredible than the photos show. The people were friendly and were attentive to any questions or requests that we asked of them. Traveling by boat is an experience that everyone should do at least once in this destination. I would definitely book the tour again, hopefully soon.
