The experience was great despite a minor inconvenience. The tour guide was great and shared a great deal of information about Panama City and the country's history. The cost of the tour was well worth it, and I highly suggest it to all who visit the city. I will say, it is much better to book the morning tour because of the humidity and climate.
This was a great experience, a different way to see Panama City. Traffic is gridlocked and walking is slow - and both - but on the bike you can see a lot of different parts of the city in a nice couple of hours. Davide was a really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guide and I learned a lot about Panama and its history and culture. He also knew when to stop for a drinks break! I really appreciated that he still ran the tour even though I was the only person booked - and my booking was last minute as another company cancelled on me.
We had a good time on this tour. David was very knowledgeable about the history of Panama. The only negative thing is trying to find the meeting point at the Sands Apartments. It would be nice to see a sign of some sort to indicate that you are in the right place. Otherwise it's a great way to orient yourself to the city which covers more distance than you can do walking.
What a great 10km 2 +hr tour of Panama along cintra costera into Caso Viehjo. Our guide was very knowledgeable of Panama and very accommodating with a couple of people that weren’t feeling well . What we did in 2hrs would have taken us 6hrs walking. This is a very easy ride along flat paths with the exception of one overpass over avenue Balboa. Keep in mind and can get hot and windy . You stop at 6 spots along the way .
Excellent way to explore the city. Highly recommend! Our family of four enjoyed seeing the historic area and riding through beautiful scenery.
The bike tour was a nice 10km distance covering many areas. Guide was very knowledgeable. I would recommend the route and guide as a great way to see old Panama City. Cons: -The bike path coming back was packed with people. Made it very difficult to navigate safely on a bike. - I think my biggest frustration was that I had a flat tire and the guide had zero spare tubes or tools to fix the tire. My tire failed 6 blocks from an alternative bike store so we were able to swap out bikes after a 20min walk but if it happened at other areas of the tour we would have been stranded. - bikes could use TLC in general.
No one showed up, so the communication could have been better. But agreed to refund. Therefore, this review reflects service rather than bike tour.
Quite a nice trip, had one day off and took the opportunity to see something at least. David is very enthousiastic, knows quite some history about this region and brings the story very well.
David was very knowledgable and personable. The 10 km ride is great and you make several stops along the way. Meeting place was easy and our tour was about 2.5 hours in total. We recommend this tour based on David's knowledge base alone and it is a great way to see Panama City and it's old town!
This was a fun way to see a big swath of the city. Our guide knew a lot about the history and local spots, and we stayed off too-busy or dangerous roads for most of it, which made the ride enjoyable and comfortable. We covered a lot of ground — I think about 7 miles — but it wasn’t overly strenuous since much of it was flat. We got to make several interesting stops, which added nice variety to the ride. Two things to improve: • The pickup (meeting) spot was a little confusing; clearer directions or a map/image would help. • They should include water and helmets (or at least offer them) — we missed having those. Overall: solid tour, good balance of sightseeing + cycling. If you’re comfortable with moderate distance biking and want to explore Panama City in a different way, this is a good choice.
David was so kind, helpful, and full of information about Panama. We took breaks when needed and he explained the history of Panama at each stop. We would definitely do this again.
I had an amazing time on this bike tour! It was such a fun and unique way to explore the city. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the ride feel really safe and enjoyable, even for someone like me who doesn't bike often. The route had beautiful views and interesting stops along the way. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting – it’s a great mix of exercise, sightseeing, and learning!
The bike tour was amazing and not only provided awesome views, but a great workout as well haha the tour guide was amazing and provided rich history of Panama which I really appreciated. I will do it again.
We had a nice time, and the guide was great. The bike was excellent. But the website should worn against small children and particularly elderly folks, unless they are exceptionally fit.. The nine-year-old on our ride was barely big enough for his bike. The 81-year-old man couldn’t handle the heat, and we had to cut the ride short. The website should worn about the extreme heat.
Excellent tour, informative and a great way to get oriented to Panama City. Lovely ride on the causeway, dedicated bike lane with excellent views of the city and old town. Our guide David recommended the local seafood market for lunch after, delicious food at “local” prices.
Maybe bring a bottle of water but you will get a chance to stop at a store. I enjoyed every minute!!
David was on time, thoroughly prepared, knowledgeable & helpful in every way. Most importantly, he was flexible, which made the experience a complete success. The heat & humidity was extreme, & the biking was more challenging than we had done in years. David worked with the schedule, the route options,& the equipment to make everything doable. He could easily have cut the trip short, but instead made everything possible. We recommend this experience in every way.
Had an awesome time on this bike tour! David was very knowledgeable and professional. I learned so much about Panama’s history. The bike path was easy to navigate. I enjoyed seeing both Panama City and the Old Town. I also enjoyed stopping at a few churches along the way. I highly recommend trying this tour even if you’re not a regular biker!
Very informative and we really enjoyed the day. Seeing the city by bike is a quick way to orientate yourself with the city and old town. If you come during the rainy season be prepared to get wet. However within an hour or so we were dry again and it all seemed to add to the experience. Make sure you eat at the local fish market as it is a unique experience. We had a great time and I highly recommend David.
Great information, and enjoyed the stops. Affordable no frills tour. David is very knowledgeable. Also appreciated his flexibility, after we arrived late. I Missed having a helmet but Stayed on bike/ walking trail for most of tour. Also bring your own water. Water is not included
We had such a great time on our bike tour! Perfect amount of time too. We got in a good workout for sure! I'd say you have to be in reasonable shape but you don't have to be a pro-biker though!
I always love a bike tour, and we covered some ground and learned about the city. However, this tour is best for people who are very comfortable on two wheels. I'm a road cyclist and I was lagging at times, and we wove and swerved between cars at one point in the old town.
We made a nice biketour with a group of 7. First around the new city coastline and later continueing to the old city. The bikes were in a proper condition. Note: the meetingpoint is at the back of the building (this main building entrance is not marked very well).
Small group (there were only the two of us today) private tour with David. The bikes were excellent mountain bikes with wise tires and suspensions. The pace was excellent with plenty of time to explore churches, market places while David watched the bikes. There is an opportunity to buy water, etc. David gave a good history of Panama during the tour touching on culture and past politics, the economy, and, of course, the building of the canal. Overall, I highly recommend this tour, especially after passing long spread out strings of bicycles on the other tours.
David is an excellent guide. We did not know if we arrived at the right place at first but after all that was sorted out he was excellent from start to finish. He's knowledgeable and even after the tour he was still helpful with Uber and restaurant recommendations
David is a great guide. His tour includes high-light of the city and each stop he gives explanation and time to take photos/walk around. Very good introduction to the city on your first day. Very good quality bikes too. I highly recommend this tour.
David did a great job of provideing interesting facts and orienting me to the bay front and old town. I would recommend thi sfor your first moring.
This was great!! We rode near the highway and the bike trail was nice! Rode around the old town and did some sightseeing. Very relaxing.
It was a fun and easy bike ride with great points of vista along the way—a great, quick area survey while getting some exercise. Although any biking experience level can do it, I recommend a degree of comfort with it. At times, you’re on cobblestones and with cars in narrow streets. Remember to pre-hydrate (which does not mean coffee, Coke, or cervezas!). It’s hot!
David was an excellent guide, he was patient, kind and knowledgeable. We loved the tour. Very economical with numerous stops throughout the city.
Great bike tour with David. A really good way to get your bearings if.new to Panama. We cycled around 7 miles and David explained history and gave us a good understanding of life in Panama. The bikes were excellent and we were offered helmets. We were just two so it was easy for us to dictate the pace so can't comment on a group tour. Thank you David for a lovely albeit hot July ride.
I went solo and had a great time with David. He showed us around the city and we stopped at a few places to take some photos. Thank you so much for showing me Panama during my short stay in this beautiful country.
Such a beautiful experience! The tour around the city was phenomenal, the best way to know Panamá city it's by bike, 'case you won't find traffic. The touristic guide was very professional on his job and responsable. If you're reading this review, i encourage to take this tour, you won't have regrets
This was a great tour! David was very personable and well informed. The scenery was stunning and the pace was perfect! I highly recommend it!
We had a pleasant guide , he gave us a lot of background information. The trip is very recommendable. Good bikes from GIANT.
David has so much knowledge to share and the ride route was perfect. We had a great time, got some exercise and learned about this incredible city. Bikes were high quality and David was professional. Would love to do it again!
David was an incredible tour guy! He was knowledgeable on all Panama subjects and stopped at great locations for pictures. If you are visiting Panama City do not miss out on this great activity! It truly immerses you to the city.
The bikes were in very good shape. Its an easy ride and we covered the main tourism areas . We had fun chatting and eating ceviche as a group. Tour guide was excellent.
Tour with David of Blue Bike tours. Good quality bikes. Punctual and informative. Good to do early in your trip to get area overview. BEWARE that recent “spinoff” Panama Bike tours is not Blue Bike tours. Panama Bike tours attempted to “scoop” our business and, operating closely to Blue Bikes former location, falsely represented to us that Blue Bike Tours was no longer in business. Not true. We went on the next day to meet up with David to enjoy our Blue Bike Panama City tour with him.
Believe me when I say, you will be getting a full and safe bike ride around the city. You start at Cinta Costera and head to the old town and back. The views will be beautiful. Be ready to ride and dress for riding too. Sun screen helps and don't forget your water. The guide was very informative and attentive as well.
Overall, this was a great tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about Panamá City and did a great job of stopping at a variety of locations and provided interesting information at each one. A few things to note that may help future travelers decide if this is right for them and/or help the provider improve the experience: - The bike route is fairly long (18km) and the pace is pretty fast. We are in good shape and bike frequently at home, but we found the pace to be challenging at times. Make sure you are up for a challenging ride/workout with some steep inclines when you have to go over the highway. - The guide got pretty far ahead of us at times, leaving us stressed about keeping up. Traffic is pretty crazy in Panamá City and we felt a bit nervous being on our own at times. - The guide’s English was good but his accent was heavy, making it hard to understand him. If that’s something you find challenging, this may be an issue for you. - The bikes aren’t made for tall people. We found them uncomfortable and not in the best working order. I had trouble shifting mine and my partner, who is 6’3”, said his bike wasn’t great for him. -The meeting place is at a convenience store/pharmacy, so you can get water before and after, which was nice. - The bikes need bells. Pedestrians are often on the paths and I wasn’t sure what to say to them as you prepare to pass. Bells would have helped.
Great way to see Panama! I am an old lady .. weaving around children and cars was a bit tricky! Our tour guide did al great job ..
Enjoyed this 6+ mile bike tour through the city and old town. Loved learned about the history and culture of Panama from David. I highly recommend this tour at the start of your visit to Panama City. There were just enough quick stops to take in the sites and take photos. Bring sunscreen and wear shorts 😊
The bike tour was about 2.5 hrs long, starting at a cute little coffee shop in Casco where we picked up the bikes. The bikes were awesome quality bikes with aluminum frames, great suspension, thick tires with good profiles, several gears, and drink holders. Davide guided our group around the old town and nearby areas, stopping every 5-10min at a point of interest where he shared some interesting insight before giving us enough time to explore the area and take pictures while he stayed with the bikes. Don't forget a cap and sunscreen (and some water ideally)! Highlights included some interesting murals in the old town, several churches (Do dress appropriately, otherwise you won't be let in. If you go around Xmas time, you'll get to see the beautiful mangers on display in the back rooms), and the Panama sign.
David is a fantastic guide, very knowledgable and attentive, always looking after his group. Bikes are top tier quality and user friendly but please tell him in advance if you need help or do not have much experience riding. The tour offers a great way to see the major attractions of the city in a fun, active way and meet people alike. Highly recommend David and wish him loads of success :)
Tour guide (we never heard his name) was local and was knowledgeable about the local sites. Bikes are in great shape and worked well for city biking. Route was fantastic with great views of the water, historical sites, old Town, and other city sites. With only 4 guests and the holiday (separation day) the tour was extended to include a stop at the Mercado de Mariscos. The guide did not provide bottled water as stated in the tour description. Participants had to buy their own. Our starting point and start time changed twice creating a lot of confusion. Rating 5 stars because of the extra time we had on the bikes.
Simply amazing! I love working out and I wanted to see the city in one go, so I booked a biking tour. Honestly, if you can handle biking for 2 to 4 hours. I would totally recommend it. You take a lot of breaks in between where the tour guide explains parts of Panama. It was raining so it's a rain or shine type of thing. So be prepared to possibly get wet, or sweat a lot. Luckily I had a jacket, and a waterproof bag so none of my belongings got wet. The locals are very nice and we went to this amazing restaurant after 🙂
Amazing bike tour with David. Learned a lot of history, saw beautiful historical sites and dined with locals and had delicious snapper and shrimp ceviche. It started raining heavy during the tour but we didn’t care. We were having an amazing time with David so we forged. It was an overall great experience. I would definitely do it again. David also waited with me until my airport transportation arrived because it was dark outside and the Cafe where we met was closed. That’s a special and caring human being. I was very grateful.
David was a wealth of info. The ride was easy and enjoyable. We covered a lot of area and enjoyed the company.
