Amazing staff and attention to detail!
We booked a night here for our honeymoon, and the staff (without us asking):
- even made sure to update the booking from my wife’s maiden name to her married name
- surprised us with a happy honeymoon cake after our dinner
- gave a handwritten note congratulating us
We stayed at four hotels in total (including another 5 star), and none other did this level of hospitality. These details might be small to some, but hitting all of them was impressive.
The pool area was beautiful, and likewise with the rooms. It was my wife’s favourite hotel we stayed at (and mine too). I can definitely see us returning.
I had my daughter’s wedding at this hotel during the week of May 10. We had over 60 rooms reserved for guests who came from all over the world. The wedding itself was beautiful, and everyone had a wonderful time. The event was managed by an outside wedding planner, and a significant amount of money was spent.
Unfortunately, after the wedding, I started receiving feedback from several guests that they were charged extra fees for different hotel services, and in some cases the prices were different from what had originally been quoted. I personally tried to address one of these charges at checkout for one of my guests, but I was unsuccessful. The manager completely ignored my concerns, which was very disappointing.
I also heard additional complaints from guests regarding the hair and makeup salon on the day of the wedding.
My own room was clean and nice, but I had an asthma attack, which I believe may have been caused by mold or another issue in the room. I did not complain at the time because it was my daughter’s wedding week, and I was too busy managing everything.
Overall, while the wedding was beautiful, I was very disappointed with the lack of transparency regarding extra charges and the lack of care from management. In my opinion, the hotel took advantage of out-of-town guests who were there for a special family celebration. Please be careful and confirm all pricing in writing before booking or using any hotel services.
Spent 5 nights at Santa Maria. Loved it! Located away from the hustle and noise of the city and nicely situated in a quiet area. The pool was refreshing and relaxing. The breakfast buffet was incredible, pastries, fresh fruit, made to order omelettes, granola, fresh squeezed juices, meat and cheeses and more. Evening dinner with sea bass and red snapper was excellent. Rooms are luxurious, management and staff are wonderful. I would go back in a heartbeat.
An absolutely fantastic experience. The rooms are spacious, and so are the bathrooms. The staff is kind and courteous. The food options are varied and delicious. The breakfast is the best in the world, literally. You can get anything you want in the 3 room buffet. The Spa was also great, with reasonable prices for all the services. My son got a haircut and my daughter got her nails done, all for the same price as a local cut in the US. Can’t wait to be back.
We spent three nights in this hotel and were completely delighted. It would be desirable if other hotels would also achieve this high standard. Everything was spotlessly clean, the pool area spacious and inviting. The gym was very modern and well equipped, and the food was delicious. Particularly noteworthy is the consistently trained staff, which made our stay extremely pleasant. Thank you very much, we will gladly come back!
