★★★★★ A wonderful stay from beginning to end. Everything was very well organized, spotlessly clean, and the service was excellent throughout our visit. Our room was spacious, comfortable and perfectly air-conditioned, with a beautiful view. One of the absolute highlights is the amazing pool area with its restaurant — a fantastic place to relax, and the views are simply incredible. The location is another huge advantage. You are right in the heart of the city, with everything you need close by. The restaurants and cafés inside Sortis are of a very high standard, and once you step outside, there are plenty of restaurants, cafés and other places to explore within easy walking distance. The combination of comfort, excellent service, great facilities, beautiful views and such a convenient location made our stay especially enjoyable. We were extremely happy with our experience and would absolutely stay here again on our next visit to Panama City. Five stars, without hesitation.

My friends and I booked appointments for a group of six through WhatsApp for Saturday, July 11th — one of the few spas in the area that could actually accommodate a group our size, which is why we chose it. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. When we arrived, we were told we should have checked in 30 minutes early — a policy that was never mentioned anywhere in our booking confirmation or in any of the WhatsApp communication with the person who helped us schedule. The front desk clerk was difficult to understand (she spoke very low and muffled, and this is coming from someone fluent in both Spanish and English), and when I mentioned we hadn't been informed about the 30-minute window, instead of acknowledging the issue, she scrolled back through our WhatsApp messages to scrutinize them rather than simply welcoming us in. My friend and I were placed in a room together for our services, but the hotel happened to be hosting a pool party with a group of kids right below us, so the first several minutes of my service were filled with screaming and noise. The room was also extremely bright, making it hard to relax. I mentioned this to my therapist, and she kindly moved me to a quieter room away from the pool area — I really appreciated her effort to salvage the experience. Beyond that, the facility itself didn't feel elevated. The bathroom was in rough shape, and there were no slippers provided, so we were walking barefoot on floors I have no idea how recently were cleaned. The service itself was okay, and my therapist genuinely tried to make the best of it, but the overall experience fell far short of what I was expecting from a spa visit — especially at this price point. I won't be returning, and it's made me hesitant to book at other Marriott spa properties going forward.
This place is absolutely amazing. Has a ton of great restaurants casino upstairs and they have some really nice rooms with the spa included. If you want to do the whole stay in a nice outside pool we had a few events out here and they were really nice hosts
We had an outstanding stay at Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino! The rooms were modern, spacious, and very comfortable, with beautiful views of the city. The staff was professional, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The amenities are top-notch, especially the pool, spa, and casino, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The location is perfect, close to great restaurants and shopping areas. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Panama City
I honestly don’t understand how this place is rated 4.5 stars, not even close! The room is run down, worn, and does not feel properly cleaned. There’s a stale smell that never goes away, the finishes are chipped, furniture is tired, and overall it feels neglected. It does not give the feeling of a well maintained hotel. It feels more like a dated motel trying to pass as something else. What bothered us most is that it wasn’t one isolated issue. The same pattern shows up everywhere. It feels like they are constantly cutting corners. Quick wipe downs instead of proper cleaning. Basic maintenance left undone. The overall impression is simply not clean and not cared for. The gym was another example. No towels available, machines visibly dirty, and clearly not being monitored properly. That is basic hotel management and it’s not happening here. We raised concerns. We received apologies. Nothing changed. A polite “sorry” does not fix a dirty room or poor maintenance. To be fair, the pool area is nice and the location is convenient. That’s really the only positive takeaway. What surprises me the most is that this operates under the Marriott name. This does not reflect the standards most people associate with that brand. This is nowhere close to a true 4.5 star experience. There are many great hotels in Panama City. Do your research and stay somewhere else.
