Jw Marriott Panama

One of our top restaurants for Sunday brunch. The service is outstanding, the chef is on point with taste. We love the variety of foods/presentation. Unlimited mimosas. They even have ice cream ( I put all kinds of stuff on it), crepes, BBQ. Indoors/ outdoors seating. The duo plays good music; the female singer kills Whitney Houston song/takes requests.

I stayed at what was then the Trump Ocean Club in Panama City, years before Donald Trump entered the White House, and my memories of the property belong to that earlier trip. A close friend and I came for New Year’s, dividing our stay between the old city and this enormous sail-shaped tower overlooking the modern skyline. That contrast gave us a vivid sense of Panama City, with Spanish colonial streets on one side of the trip and a dense landscape of glass towers on the other. The building now operates as the JW Marriott Panama, and its elevation into one of Marriott’s principal luxury brands says a great deal about the property’s original potential. Inside, the architecture and floor plan felt unusually ambitious, with enormous rooms, dramatic shared spaces, and a high pool deck with extraordinary views. We had a terrific brunch one morning and ate several meals by the pool, while the service remained consistently warm and capable. Some of the peripheral finishes appeared a little neglected or less expensive than the building’s grand scale suggested, but that never defined the experience. Our room was spacious, lively, and unlike any hotel room I had stayed in before. Beyond the property, the location gave us easy access to casinos, nightlife, and the more modern side of Panama City. I also went for a long run along a nearby waterfront path, which remains one of my clearest memories from the trip. Overall, the hotel captured the city’s confidence and contrasts through a design that felt progressive without becoming impractical, and I imagine the JW Marriott conversion has refined it further. I left Panama impressed by both the destination and the property, and I would readily recommend it to anyone looking for a distinctive luxury hotel.

Our trip to JW Marriott in Panama has been incredible. We always travel with our family of two young children and JW properties have always been fantastic. However, Panama is setting a new level. They have made the kids feel so at home. Our son has celiac disease and every morning they make him a gluten free breakfast and in the evening the chef takes time to make him gluten free cheese pasta. The hotel has also provided our son and daughter with little gifts (almost daily) and provided us with some excellent adjoining rooms. Overall I cannot say enough good things about the staff and management. Elisa who manages the restaurants deserves a separate call out but everyone is great. This is an excellent hotel in the JW portfolio. Features outstanding services across the board but the service of the staff in the Executive Lounge is the best ever bar none. On my last day the staff in the lounge presented me with a package of Panamanian coffee to take home. Also mid stay a dozen roses was sent to the room. Each room is well appointed and has a balcony with ocean views. Simply outstanding!
