Every time I go to Panama the Zen Hotel is my go to place to stay. The beauty of the panoramic view is incredible, the staff is amazing, the food is also great. The hotel is clean and the majority of the staff speaks two languages….I love it there!
We stay here everytime we are in Panama City. We love it's closeness to the metro as we use it to go to the airport and other areas of the city. The employees are always helpful and kind. The morning buffet breakfast is always good and so much variety. We have only one suggestion for the hotel. They have an amazing rooftop pool with a lounge/bar. But when we are up there day or night they never come out to ask if we want a drink (of any kind) or any food item . This is a HUGE miss. ($$) for the hotel. But also for the guests.
We only stayed for one night but it was a nice stay. Room was good and we got some welcome drinks when we checked in. The breakfast buffet wasn’t very good though.
We had a pre-paid reservation. They said there was a problem with the room and sent us to an another hotel. The other hotel was not comparable and did not have the same amenities (no pool, no rooftop terrace, maintenance issues, etc). This other hotel's room rates were also quite a bit lower. At no point were we offered any kind of refund, not even for the difference between what we pre-paid for at the Best Western Zen and the price of the room we ended up staying at. So now I'm trying to get at least a partial refund. The hotel has only offered an apology and a "hope to see you again soon". I'm really disappointed in the hotel itself, Best Western Plus in general, and Expedia who we booked through - they're all pointing fingers at each other instead of any of them stepping up for our relatively small refund request.
