Itinerary
Meet Simon outside the ticket office at Moreton-in-Marsh Railway Station at 10:20 for a 10:30 departure. Local pickups around Chipping Norton may be possible by prior arrangement. With a maximum of seven guests, this is a relaxed small-group tour hosted by Simon, a Chipping Norton local with a farming background. From Moreton-in-Marsh, we head through Chipping Norton and into the countryside around Clarkson’s Farm.
At Diddly Squat Farm Shop, you’ll have around 45 minutes to take photos, look around and buy something to eat or drink. You can visit the shop, but when it’s busy I often recommend avoiding the queue, as there are other local ways to buy Diddly Squat products without waiting. I do not offer queue-jumping or guarantee time to enter the shop.
rom Diddly Squat, I take you through the local village and countryside to filming locations connected with Clarkson’s Farm, including a countryside walk and several stops from the programme. I deliberately don’t advertise every location in advance — part of the fun is discovering some of these places on the day.
I also take you to a traditional village pub used by Jeremy Clarkson and Gerald Cooper, with time for a drink before we continue towards The Farmer’s Dog. The drive takes us through some beautiful Cotswold countryside that most visitors — and even many locals — miss. The drive takes us through some beautiful Cotswold countryside that most visitors — and even many locals — miss.
At The Farmer’s Dog, you’ll usually have around 80–90 minutes to buy food and drinks, explore The Grand Tour Tent, and go inside the pub for drinks and photos. A reserved table or sit-down meal inside the pub is not included.
The afternoon continues through the Cotswolds, usually via Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water, depending on traffic. This is a scenic drive rather than a scheduled stop.
I then take you to Hawkstone Brewery’s Tap Yard, The Hawkstone Arms, where you’ll have time for a drink, photos and a look around before we begin the journey back to Moreton-in-Marsh.
Depending on timings and how the day is going, there may be time for an additional country pub stop before we return through the Cotswold countryside to Moreton-in-Marsh Railway Station. I normally arrive back at around 17:30, although timings can vary slightly depending on traffic, queues and how the day has gone. If you’re not in a hurry to leave, you’re very welcome to stay on and enjoy the pubs of Moreton-in-Marsh with me after the tour.

Guide made the tour. Si is an absolute gem. Foul-mouthed and hilarious. This tour would not be the same without him. Maybe not for kids….but if you have a sense of humor and aren’t thin-skinned, don’t even consider another guide. I’ve been on many tours, and this was without a doubt the best.
If we could give this tour 10 out of 5 stars, we absolutely would! Simon made this one of the highlights of our trip to England. As a true local, he seems to know everyone and everything about the area. He shared so much knowledge, local stories and insider tips we would never have discovered on our own. What made the day really special was how personal and flexible it was. Simon adapted the tour to our wishes and interests, and we never felt rushed. We had so many great and funny conversations throughout the day, and he even took photos of us along the way. It felt less like a guided tour and more like exploring the Cotswolds with a local friend. Simon says, “You come as a stranger and go as a friend” – and we can absolutely confirm that! Thank you, Simon, for an unforgettable day! ❤️
Si was amazing really helpful really friendly tour was amazing if your coming down to chipping Norton for clarksons farm get on this you won't be dissapointed neil and laura
We had a fantastic time with Simon. My Husband is a huge fan of Clarkson's farm and Simon's tour was for him. We were lucky to have the tour to ourselves and Simon tailored the tour to our interests. Simon's knowledge of the area made the tour so special and we will be recommending his tour to all our friends at home.
Simon was a fabulous host! My husband and I hired Simon’s services for the day, so he customized our itinerary to meet all of our needs. Always the professional—We missed our train stop and he quickly reassured us that all was fine and communicated that he would meet us at the next pick-up site with no hesitation. Our entire experience was A+-rated. We look forward to another opportunity to tour new sites with Simon!
Pick up location was convenient and easy to locate. Simon was right on time. Very friendly and easy going but with so much local knowledge. Mercedes van was spacious and comfortable with cold drinks provided He took us to all of the places we wanted to see and more . Absolutely the best tour I have ever done . If you want insider knowledge and a truly fun experience this is the tour for you . Relaxed fun and informative with a fantastic local guide.
Simon is my new best friend!!! He adds a personal and social touch to the tour. We made new friends, learned about the Cotswold, and most importantly, got some insights on Clarkson’s farm. The tour went to several locations from the show. And Simon had a nice surprise spot at the end of the route which was the highlight of the day. The smaller group made it more enjoyable. I Simon is amazing at his job and we left with everlasting memories. Thank you for a wonderful experience!!! 6/5 stars!!!!!!
What a day what a tour! Amazing time had by all of us. Simon is great as our host and guide. The fun never stopped. The knowledge was great and kept us excited about each and every stop. If you are looking for a tour of Chipping Norton and all things Clarkson Farms this is the tour for you! Our tour went beyond the designated times and even when the trains sucked Simon was there to help. Take this tour!
What a great experience!!! Simon has a wealth of knowledge about the show, the characters and the surrounding area. Simon gave us some helpful tips on how to navigate the busy Farmers Dog pub. The last stop (which he says is a surprise ) was a great way to end the tour. Simon was alway in contact with us before the tour and made sure everyone was enjoying their time. I’m so happy we went on this tour. We made new friends and had an experience we will be talking about for a very longtime. A must for any Clarkson’s Farm fan. Thank you again for a wonderful day.
Simon is an absolute legend, I would do a tour with him of anywhere in the world. He genuinely cares about his guests and makes the effort to look after the people on his tour. I’ve never had a tour guide who has been so personable and engaging.
The tour itself was okay and insightful, simon had a lot of knowledge on the areas he showed us! He also seemed to know a lot about the show and gave a more personal insight into these behind the scenes areas! But i didn’t appreciate the unprofessional nature of the tour. I understand it can feel more comfortable with a more unprofessional environment especially when you’re spending roughly 6 hours with the guide and tour group. But that doesn’t mean parading your blatantly racist views to the group. Hearing remarks about ‘flattening brown people’ and being ‘sick of ragheads’ isn’t very welcoming nor does it build enthusiasm within a group. Quite frankly it ruins the day and no i’m not interested in knowing you were kicked out of a right wing political party for being “too right wing”! These types of remarks may fly in the pub especially after a few beers, but they should have no place in your business approach. No one can change your beliefs and you’re entitled to your own opinions, no matter how disgusting they are! But rubbing these opinions into people’s faces isn’t okay, especially when they’ve spent £200+ to experience a Clarkson Farm tour. But also this tour is extremely misleading, this isn’t a tour of Clarksons Farm and the extra bits that come under this title. It’s an unofficial tour which shows you an insight into Clarksons Farm but more so personal parts of their life, such as local interests of theirs. There has been clear issues between the guide and Amazon/Clarksons legal team, this doesn’t prove an issue for the tour group at all. But being given the option to visit private areas that you shouldn’t be offering as a margin to make profit doesn’t make the most comfortable experience. This turns into even more of a grey area when you’re spending your time showing a group Kalebs childhood home, but insulting council estates. You have no right to make a profit from parading people’s personal endeavours to a group of people. You also don’t know the background of the people in your tour group so a bit of mindfulness regarding what you’re saying would go a long way. There also is a major incentive to get members of the party drunk which doesn’t make for the most comfortable environment neither. This tour would be better if the website was clear and truthful about what you get for what you pay, and if Simon was a bit more conservative regarding his beliefs.
Great tour, highly recommend! Being a local, Simon is a great guide and took us to places that we would NEVER have found on our own. His small group format allows for flexibility and means that you get to see what you want to see and can stay at each location as long as you want. His new Mercedes van is comfortable and delivers you directly to each location. I really liked that Simon is a fan of the show and can provide information about certain locations and which season & episode they appeared. We struggled with should we attempt to visit Clarkson’s Farm on our own or hire a guide, and Simon is definitely the way to go! With Simon at the helm we got to see way more locations than we could possibly have managed on our own.
Wow ….. what a tour that was !!!!!we came all the way from wales wasn’t disappointed at all the tour guide was absolutely fab he was funny chatty and overall a very nice guy huge well done we will deffo be booking again
Simon was a excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Having a very lively character it made the day very enjoyable . He adapted the tour and gave you the choice of how it went, so very flexible. Transport was comfortable and supplied water as the day was 34 degrees and very hot. Would highly recommend and will definitely meet up with him again when we return.
Absolutely fantastic the guide made the tour so funny down to earth guy ,visted so many different place took us to local pubs ,places ,as well as gave us great tour round clarkson pub, shops ,brewery and information and tour on other well known people definitely recommend will absolutely do it again
Absolutely the best tour by a local of Clarksons Farm and the Cotswolds. Simon is an excellent guide and er thoroughly enjoyed our day!
It will be difficult to explain just how blown away I was by this tour! I'm tempted to say that this is the ultimate Clarkson's Farm fan experience, but that wouldn't do it justice because there's also plenty of fascinating Cotswolds history and sightseeing included. There were a couple of times that I couldn't believe my eyes when I watched Caleb drive by in a tractor and Gerald go by in a farm truck. Obviously, everyone can't expect that same experience, but it was amazing all the same. Simon was absolutely fantastic and gave us as much time as we wanted for photos, food, drinks, etc. and never made us feel rushed. Beyond just stopping at the familiar spots from the show, he brought us to some places and introduced us to some people that absolutely blew my mind. I don't want to say too much because that would spoil the surprise. The communication from Simon was top-notch from start to finish, and he made us feel like family. We ended the tour at a local historic pub, and as an American tourist with a life long love of all things English, sitting down to dinner in a proper English pub with a proper Englishman is an experience I can't put a price on and I will never forget. Speaking as someone who has taken food tours, history tours, nature tours, ghost tours, and every other kind of tour all over the US and Europe, I can easily say that this was the greatest tour I have ever taken in my life.
Great experience for the whole family. Really nice to have a pleasant local guide.
