Small tour. Time for questions and personalized experience. Gilberto was engaging, humorous and knowledgeable. Thank you!
We had a brilliant tour with (Eloise - the archeologist) , she knew all the interesting facts , but was so enthusiastic and positive it made the tour great fun and the time flew by). This is an external tour only (ie a good intro to all the major sites) and you will really need to go back to actually tour available colleges later (ie we returned to New College (excellent) and you will need to pre-book for certain colleges (e.g. Christchurch) . Recommended.
Alex E. did a great job. Very informative and knowledgeable. SO much new information (new to us), and very patient with our group (at moments it was like herding cats). He navigated through the traffic and construction seamlessly. Very friendly and accommodating. Thank you, Alex E.!
We did the footprints free walking tour with Patrick a student at the University. The tour was excellent with the right balance of knowledge and humour which kept us engaged for the entire time. I would thoroughly recommend it.
We had an amazing tour guide by the name of Cathy and she was very knowledgeable. I would recommend her anytime to anyone!
We had a wonderful private tour, and learned a great deal about Oxford history and student life. Our guide, Hannah, clearly knew her stuff and kept it interesting.
Our private tour guide Dr Duncan was an exceptional story teller and historian. She had a beautiful singing voice; a bonus to our delightful experience!
An excellent couple of hours with the local insight from Oscar, a very knowledgeable guide with a very positive attitude to his role! Very highly recommended!
George was an excellent guide. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour extremely interesting and enjoyable.
George was an excellent guide with just the right amount of information, pace, imagination, philosophy, history and humour! Many thanks George!
Ross was very generous with his knowledge of Oxford and transmitted it’s history in the context of English history.
Christopher die a phantastic job! Great tour with history, fun facts and lots of humor. We highly recommend!
Very informative and detailed tour, out guide sam was very knowledgeable and had many facts and jokes
Oscar , the brother of our Dutch prime minister, was a great tour guide
Our tour with Patrick was incredible. He did such a great job explaining the rich history and showing us the beauty of Oxford. He also did great to have us in shade on a very hot day.
Lovely walking tour of Oxford city centre college’s with charming and informative guide, Patrick. Would definitely recommend.
We really enjoyed our tour with Sam. The tour was expensive, but worth the money. We were surprised how quickly our time went by.
Sam did a great job showing us Oxford and the colleges! Was very entertaining!
Fantastic tour. What made it fantastic? Sam D. He went above and beyond our expectations for a guided tour. The tour was 3 hours long, but the time flew by! We have done guided tours in Cambridge and Edinburgh, and this one was the best. Sam was extremely professional, knowledgeable and very funny. Highly recommend Sam and this tour!
Great walking tour explaining many of the different colleges of Oxford, including historical highlights. Sam Day was a very personable and charming tour guide full of delightful Oxford lore and personal experiences. Recommended!
hi! from someone who’s never enjoyed history before and was also skeptical about college tours in general, having thor as our guide around oxford really helped me understand its deep history from centuries ago and its relation to the present, as well as campus life, traditions, and everything in between. really, this was the first college tour i’ve enjoyed, so if you’re on the fence about this tour i recommend it!
George was an excellent guide
Isabelle's tour was awesome, sharing her passion with first hand experience on the sights around Oxford
Our tour guide Isabelle was fantastic! Highly recommend—-she gave us a lot of insight into Oxford and its history and everyone should have a tour with her! It was fun!
This experience was exceptional and exactly what I was looking for! The admission fee was worth every penny from what I got to experience. We had a two hour tour and the atmosphere was friendly, outgoing, and fun! We had a group of 18, which made it easily accessible to hear our guide and learn about Oxford. Our tour guide and almost graduate, Isabelle, was perfect! Her love for history and knowledge of Oxford was amazing. This tour is best if you’re looking to learn more about the pristine college and experience old English history. You will learn and see some beautiful pieces of history! Loved it and could not recommend more!
Isabelle was such a good tour guide!! Enjoyed my experience very well.
We had Shree as our guide - she was great: very informative, fun, and enjoyable. It was a terrific tour and we enjoyed every bit of it! Shree rocks!
Interesting and engaging 2hr+ walking tour with our guide, EJ, who was so passionate about life and study in Oxford. She was exceptionally knowledgeable and full of stories and quirky facts. EJ coped exceptionally well with the unplanned closure of one of the colleges we were to visit and managed to seamlessly continue the tour whilst negotiating with the college and tour operator to successfully get us in. She was happy to answer our many questions and ensured the comfort and safety of the group at all times. Highly recommended experience.
We did the free 2 hour walking tour with Trystan, who was fabulous. Lots of history, anecdotes and jokes. Walked around the most ‘important’ sites in central Oxford.
Very informative and Emily was an excellent guide, knowledgeable and engaging
Alex E. Was a great host, he had fascinating stories and knew all about the history of universities and the city itself. Lovely to get to know more about this topic and we heard a lot of fun facts which made it even more interesting! Thanks Alex E.!
We had a wonderful tour with Elena this morning. Her knowledge of historical and current-day Oxford (both the city itself and the colleges) was in-depth and extensive, and her enthusiasm was contagious. Our group was fortunate to have had her as our guide. We left having learned a great deal and also highly entertained by her compelling presentation of the relevant information.
Our tour guide was Eloise. She was very familiar with Oxford University life, and the various colleges and culture in the area. Because she was working on her masters degree in archaeology. She had detailed knowledge about the buildings, the history, and unique feature features in Oxford. We found her to be pleasant, and articulate, and she did a fantastic job.
Thorston was a fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable, witty and most of all passionate about history especially of the people of Oxford. He had a natural story telling ability which made the tour very enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour with this guide.
Great way to see Oxford as Thorsen was very knowledgeable about the history of this wonderful city and we learnt so much
My tour was Footprints Tour which gathered near the Oxford Tour Information on Broad St. Our tour guide was Sam who recently finished his PhD at Oxford. He was brilliant. He was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining, energetic and hospitable. We learned so much about Oxford. He was the best tour guide we had since we arrived in England. If you want to learn about Oxford, please join this tour with Sam. The tour was for free and you tip at the end. He was a way better tour guide than all our other paid tour guides. Can’t recommend this tour with Sam more. Thank you from California :)
Hannah gave tons of information while giving the twist of her experiences as a student. She made an enjoyable tour.
we were with Thorstein, a really excellent guide!! he was articulate, funny, informative, and we learned a lot about Oxford's history. he made the city come alive.
Time with Sam Day is an extraordinary experience! He guided us on a tour of the Oxford colleges while sharing with us a wealth of history and fun facts and stories of the development of Oxford, the University and college rivalries. He is wonderfully engaging and welcomed questions. We highly recommend Sam to you.
Our guide imparted a wealth of information about the college and English history. His knowledge was deep, and we learned an incredible amount of information from him. I highly recommend this tour.
Absolutely amazing tour. Our tour guide, Ross, was a PhD student at Oxford, and he told us all about how the university works and about its history.
We very much enjoyed our tour of Oxford with Footprints. They answered all my questions promptly ahead of time and the booking process was easy. Communication was good about when and where we needed to be for pick up. We used the Footprints transfer from London and found Dougall to be friendly, informative and a good driver as well. When we got to Oxford we started our tour immediately with Thorsteiin. He was engaging and easy to be with. We learned a lot as he told us all about the background of each place we visited with funny, entertaining stories too. We’d definitely tour with them again, and Oxford particularly was wonderful.
Thorstein gave a fantastic walking tour! We were able to see several colleges during our roughly 2 hour tour! He provided a mix of history, architecture and fun anecdotes (including information about Harry Potter, CS Lewis, Tolkien and more)! He was highly entertaining and took the time to provide recommendations on things to see and where to eat the end!
Our tour guide, Shree, was amazing! She was funny, full of information, and also so kind (she lent out her umbrella and rain jacket to those of us that were unprepared for the changing weather!) We would highly recommend this tour to anyone spending a few hours in Oxford!
Sam delivered a very entertaining & knowledgeable trip around the colleges of oxford. It’s always a pleasure to listen to someone who has an in-depth knowledge of their subject, as well as a passion. Highly recommended!
We did a free walking tour with Sam Day and he was absolutely brilliant! There was so much information delivered in clear and humorous way. Couldn’t recommend him more! His knowledge and love of Oxford as an alumni student was so clear and enhanced our experience. Thank you! R.I.P Fever.
Our tour guide, Thor, was a veritable textbook of English and particularly Oxford, history and culture. This well-paced 2-hour tour hits the highlights of both university and national history, interspersed with interesting personal anecdotes of student life. I would highly recommend this offering.
Our 2 hour tour with our guide Thorsten was absolutely fantastic. We both came with some interest in the history of the University and some of the important people who were part of that history such as CS Lewis. The tour did not disappoint as we learnt so much more in a fun and highly interactive tour. The visit inside Trinity College and the School of Divinity were highlights. Highly recommend.
EJ (Oxford grad student in history) provided a knowledgable, personalized, and sometimes humorous, tour of the key points around the university. Good mix of history and contemporary facts to keep our interest. It was nice to hear it from current student. Highly recommend.
