Our tour with Himalaya was wonderful. So informative and wonderful to hear so many Oxford traditions.
The tour was very enjoyable and our guide Elsie was very friendly. She was very knowledgeable about the colleges and was interested in her tour group as well. She showed a passion for the university and made the tour even more entertaining.
We did a very cold and rainy tour today. Our guide was Camilla and she made it such a wonderful experience. Thank you for sharing your beautiful city with us from Canada.
We were so lucky to have Himalaya as our guide! We are a Korean family who traveled a long way to visit Oxford, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Himalaya was incredibly passionate, enthusiastic, and connected wonderfully with our two boys. We were extremely happy with the entire experience. After the tour, both of our boys said they definitely want to come back to Oxford someday! Thank you, Himalaya, for making our visit so special and memorable. We truly hope our paths cross again!
BOYI was an amazing guide. Interesting perspectives. Clear and concise information. Great pace. Very thorough.
Laurence was a fantastic guide! We really enjoyed our tour
Brilliant guide! Super friendly, very knowledgeable, and made our day unforgettable. Highly recommend
Dr John was very knowledgeable and kept the tour moving at a good pace. Excellent!
Decent directions for the meeting point, though we started a few minutes late. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and even came up with a trivia game to play during the tour with a small prize at the end. We learned a lot and saw some incredible locations on the tour.
It was great Himalaya Wes are gide and he was great
Prasita was a phenomenal guide, and she gave amazing insight as a current student at Oxford and her love for Oxford was infectious. We learned so much! Would highly recommend!
We really enjoyed the tour! AK was an Oxford guru and taught us a lot about the ins and outs of the University. Highly recommended!
Booked this tour (Mandarin) for 29 August afternoon for my uncle who is visiting the UK. He's thoroughly enjoy the experience and appreciated the guide's diligence despite he being the one on the tour and the unusually unsettled British weather! Thank you!
Angus was the best guide super funny and entertaining
Really interesting tour with Evelyn.
Tour was a bit on the light side.
Thanks to our tour guide, Francesco, we had a wonderful and enjoyable tour.
I have been on a Walking Tour of Oxford before and it was very good but the tour we had with Marcus Rees was absolutly brilliant. So knowleadgeable, so clear and easy to understand, took the time to answer all our questions which so much kindness. My family and I learnt so much and are very grateful.
Shanvi was a wonderful guide. We learnt a lot about the University of Cambridge. Full 5 stars...
Tejas was informative about the life, study habits and schedule of a student. He was quite knowledgeable about Oxford, and showed us the beauty of the town.
What a great experience! Adam knows lots of good stories and fun details about Oxford’s colleges. He allowed us to take our time between stops. We weren’t moving so quickly and he never made us feel rushed. He even adjusted the tour to accommodate our stamina. Fabulous way to see Oxford.
Scarlet was an excellent guide! She answered all of our questions and gave many recommendations for other things to see while in Oxford. She also helped us to stay in the shade during a blazing-hot day. We were grateful to the office for helping us to rebook a tour after we missed our original tour due to a travel complication. Thanks for a wonderful visit to Oxford!
It was easy to find the meeting point and locate our tour guide Caitlin, who was a great tour guide! She gave us a lot of information about the colleges and campus history. To be honest, I was expecting more from the tour locations. We arrived to the City Center about an hour and a half earlier and got to walk around, we saw most of what was in the tour, the only exception was that we entered the Bodleian Library. Other than that, we were able to walk the grounds ourselves beforehand and the only plus of the tour was the facts Caitlin presented to us. I would suggest to add more tour exclusive experiences, otherwise it seems that I paid for information only.
I was especially looking forward to this tour because I studied abroad at Oxford 20 years ago and wanted to share the experience and history of the university with my husband on our first visit back together. Unfortunately, the tour fell well below our expectations. The tour started about 20 minutes late, which was disappointing and cut into our sightseeing schedule. Our guide was friendly and enthusiastic, but it was often difficult to understand the commentary because of their limited English proficiency. More importantly, the historical information was fairly basic and lacked the depth and insight I expected from an alumni-led tour of one of the world’s most historic universities. After giving the tour a fair chance, we ultimately decided to leave early because we felt it wasn’t a good use of our limited time in Oxford. That was particularly disappointing given how much I had hoped to revisit the university and introduce my husband to its rich history and traditions. Oxford itself is an extraordinary place, and I would absolutely encourage visitors to explore it. However, if you’re looking for a knowledgeable, engaging, and historically rich alumni-led experience, I would recommend considering other tour options.
It was very cool and the pathing was nice and it didn’t feel like we were just wandering aimlessly at any points “Sushi” was good
Oxford was one of our favorite stops during our week in England. It started with a tour conducted by an alumni with a focus on pointing out the various sights and inspirations for Harry Potter. But more so, I am inspired by the atmosphere of academia. Our guide explained the college and department structures and shared his own experiences as a student of Oxford University. We also stayed in a lovely 8 room hotel which accommodated our family with small extras that felt like home. Things like a private entrance to the back yard (and first floor rooms) to toys and activities for outdoor play.
John F. was very informative, spoke clearly so all could hear, considerately kept us in the shade as much as possible on a vert hot afternoon. Would highly recommend John F. as a tour guide. He really knew his subject.
Sushi ( not sure of spelling ) led our tour on 22nd June 1pm . She was absolutely excellent. Lovely presentation. Lots of information. Good timekeeping.
Very informative tour. Enjoyed the punten tour with Patrick as well
Roderick the guide was very knowledgeable and numerous. He took us to places we probably wouldn’t have found on our own.
The planned route was enjoyable, the group was not overcrowded (around 10 people), and Oxford was easy and pleasant to explore on foot. However, the guide seemed quite new to the job and lacked experience. The entire group was patient while listening to his explanations, but a few people left before the end because the commentary was not particularly engaging or informative. The guide clearly put a lot of effort into the tour, but the main issue was his command of the language. He was not fully fluent, which made the tour feel slow, repetitive, and at times rather tiring. I saw other groups with different guides who appeared much more dynamic and engaging. Overall, the tour itself is well designed, but the company should ensure that guides have both strong language skills and the ability to create an enjoyable experience for participants. At £35, this was the most expensive activity I did in Oxford, so it was disappointing that the value for money felt so poor. I had high expectations for the tour, but unfortunately they were not met.
The tour was great and the tour guide (Tejas Sanjay Dongare) was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly.
We had the most wonderful morning learning about Oxford and walking around the town with our lovely tour guide. I cannot remember her name but she was from New Delhi. She explained the university system and all the colleges while pointing out local landmarks and fun stories about school rivalries. We bought the New College tour but forgot to use it! She was so enthusiastic about showing us everything she could she happily went past our time allotment and we so appreciated it.
Generally good experience, but not sufficient value offered for this money. At the end of the tour, the guide didn't accompany us to the entry of the New College where the porter firstly refused us the entry saying he knows nothing about the booking via Alumni Tours. After discussion with other 2-3 staff members we were let in, but this is not a kind of experience I expect for expensive money.
Sushi is best! Very knowledgeable and patient, can’t asking for more. Thanks.
Tommy was a great guide and was incredibly knowledgeable about Cambridge. I learnt a lot and appreciated the real life experiences he could share from his years spent at the university. His studies in medieval history and extensive knowledge on the subject made the tour very engaging. Cambridge is a magical place full of history and I felt I came away from the tour with a lot to reflect on!
Arushi G was a fantastic guide - she was engaging and had lots of interesting info to share as we walked around - highly recommend this tour as a great intro to Cambridge
Outstanding tour by 3rd yr Oxford student, Olivia. Oxford was a bucket list visit for me as a life-long USA university administrator and now President.
My tour guide Shalvi was excellent
General information. Limited access to key venues.
Tommy was awesome. A great way to learn about Cambridge.
We had an excellent tour that was very insightful and fun. Our tour guide was a fellow student who had extensive knowledge of the area and university of course. She was friendly and more than willing to answer any questions we had and take pictures of us when we wanted at these historic locations.
Nice tour. Very Informational and knowledgable guide. Patient and accomodative. Would highly recommend.
This tour was full of sights , interesting facts and many fun facts regarding the history of the university , the colleges, life of students. Shelby our guide and a recent law alumni was so engaging, could tell us about her experiences in addition to the tour facts and made sure all our questions were answered. The 2.5 hrs flew by and we had seen much. I highly recommend it!
We had a wonderful tour in Cambridge and really enjoyed hearing the alumni perspective—it added a unique and personal touch that made the experience especially memorable. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and shared great insights about student life and the university’s history. One small suggestion for improvement: using a microphone or voice amplifier would make it easier for everyone to hear the guide clearly, especially in busy or crowded areas. Better audio would make the experience even more enjoyable for the whole group. Overall, a fantastic tour that we would definitely recommend!
Perfect tour and a real great guide. Thanks a lot. It as fantastic
Our tour guide (Usha) was excellent. Usha was really engaging and mixed history with contemporary events while ensuring our group of students from Thailand had time to take photos and take it all it in. We went inside several places including 'the' bookshop which on the surface doesn't sound interesting but be assured it is well worth it. I highly recommend the tour and big thanks to Usha for doing a great job.
Rupert’s tour was fabulous, with history, college life, ghost tales and more. What a wonderful tour guide. Thankyou!
The guide was a University student and extremely knowledge about Oxford's history too. He was very interesting and engaging and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
