Was a very good experience, thanks to John for the mandarin private tour, was a lot of fun to know about Oxford history and lifestyle as a student.
Our walking tour was lovely despite (because of?) the wet weather. Wide ranging with access to beautiful spaces, and our guide Himalaya was charming! Started on time, finished on time.
Himalaya was our guide today, his tour guidance was impeccable!
Our guide, Tim, was very personable and knowledgeable about Oxford the town, and the Oxford University system. He answered all our questions and we truly learned a lot about the area. We also enjoyed the punting experience after our walking tour; it was a great way to relax.
Rather expensive but it was our choice to book. Very chaotic at the meeting point and rather a “free for all”. Very pleasant punting experience and the guide was a lovely young man.
Ak was so encouraging and had some many things to tell us about colleges life in Oxford... she kept us hooked all along the tour. Thanks a lot!!
Everything well organised. Very interesting tour with wonderful and knowlegeable guide R... (sorry, we forgot your name, 7th of July, 2pm). Very helpful also with getting into Kings Collage Church. Amazing church with beautiful outsides. Punting tour also great with nice guide and many informations.
Having been touring around the UK we found this tour a nice change of pace. While this tour provides history and the normal download of facts the current student angle also provides a modern day perspective on how the university actually operates for a student today. A very worthwhile experience that is quite personal.
While the start point was a little hard to find among all the other guide groups - the tour itself was fantastic - with our guide Kai being able to tell us all sorts of Intresting and eccentric facts about both the town and the university. Particularly the really intresting bit about the history of Cecil Rhodes and the activists at Oxford. Would recommend!
We booked a last minute Oxford Uni tour and punting trip last minute. We were able to get a Mandarin speaking tour guide at a time we wanted. The tour was interesting and our tour guide (John) was very helpful and explained many aspects of the building and the history. We recommend this experience. 謝謝John!
Experiences like these are only enjoyable when the guide can bring things to life. After all 800 year old bricks can only do so much. Our tour guide TJ was engaging, knowledgable and entertaining. He really brought the place to life which made it a great tour. The only criticism would be that when we entered Kings College Chapel would be to have a guide take us through that portion. All in all great value for the price and would recommend it to anyone
We had a perfect tour around Oxford. The tour was very organized. Our tour guide Tejas is Oxford student who was very positive, communicative and funny really explained in depth about the rich history of the university and so much more. It was great experience
Tejas was amazing! Purely flawless, he made us feel like "welcome to my home!". He spoke the right amount of information and gave us a lot of insiders tips. We truly enjoyed it. I also was translating to my mother as she does not speak English and he cared to ask if he was speaking slow enough. Thank you Tejas!
My granddaughter and I had a wonderful tour of Oxford colleges. This was the first time I have been on an organised city tour. I was a bit concerned it would be too formal. But our guide, Tejas, put us at ease, and we had a very relaxed experience, which included some interesting historical facts about Oxford. We ended the tour with a lovely punt down the river. A perfect morning!
It was informative and entertaining. I world recommend it further
We went on this tour with Kay. She showed us around Oxford, sharing lots of interesting stories, revealing a few hidden gems and sharing plenty of historical facts. We highly recommend this tour.
This was by far the best tour i’ve ever been on! Aruj was an excellent tour guide and so knowledgeable about all things Oxford. I will be recommending this to everyone I know and hope to take my family here next time!
Savanna was excellent. Very personal, knowledgeable, and such an intelligent individual … as well as very interactive. A lovely guide and person. Delighted to recommend. Max on the Punt was very good and interactive. A great combination.
Our tour guide Clara, who studied 3 years in Oxford, was lovely, well-organized, diligent, and very helpful and attentive in answering all the groups questions. It was a nice experience to see the University of Oxford, and explore the history of each college in a nuanced way. Thank you to Clara !
Our guide Franka did an amazing job showing us around the city. She gave us general information about the city as well as insight into her own study time at Oxford, which made the tour really personal. The punting afterwards was really beautiful. We had an awesome view and the guide was super friendly and approachable.
Thanks we had the 12.05 tour on the 15th September 2025 our tour guide was amazing…. He had a tough crowd but he was amazing thanks can’t thank him enough experience so incredible but we had no cash for a tip but wished we could have he deserved it.
Enjoyed Stefan’s talk about history of Oxford and student life. Unfortunately we had booked on graduation day so it was very crowded but made the best of it. Enjoyed walking around Oxford and learning about the different colleges. He was very informative and learnt many interesting facts about Oxford. Enjoyed the punting as well and would recommend having a trained professional punt and not doing it yourself.
We booked this Oxford Alumni Tour specifically because it promised access to several buildings that are normally closed to the public. None of these exclusive visits took place. When we asked the guide, we were told that no tickets had been secured in advance—something the organizer was clearly responsible for. Another excuse was that a manager’s computer allegedly crashed, which sounded more like a convenient story than a legitimate reason. Speaking with other guests, we discovered they were also sold experiences that never materialized. This was a serious misrepresentation of the tour content, bordering on outright fraud. It was deeply disappointing and felt like a deliberate deception rather than an honest oversight. I strongly advise others to be cautious before booking.
Unfortunately, heavy accent and rapid speech difficult to follow what was being said. Otherwise charming and charming guide.
Savannah was a great guide and had lots of fun facts for us. Informative and interesting tour. We started on the high street and walked through lots of the colleges even getting an inside look at university College.
We had wandered around the city the day before our tour but it wasn't until we met up with Prishita, a PHD student at Oriel College Oxford University, that we truly appreciated the history and nuances of the place. With her anecdotes about the people and the buildings she brought the city and school alive. The punting was just icing on the cake. What a great way to spend the day!!
Getting to see some of the colleges of Oxford from the perspective of a student was amazing. Our guide was a graduating senior named Jessica who was outstanding, fun, knowledgeable, and so helpful. We toured so many places from the outside and then Jessica took us into her college and showed us how the students live. This tour is really special. The punting was delightful and we enjoyed the views from the river. And of course Christ Church is one that is not to be missed.
Thank you Chris for leading us to so many interesting spots and sharing stories in the uni. The punting experience was also nice, despite rainy weather. Wished I could have spent more time in Oxford to explore some of the bushings inside as well.
The Cambridge Walk-In Tour is a fantastic way to dive into the city’s history, and our guide Jae was outstanding. His deep knowledge and engaging storytelling made the experience both fun and informative. Jae was incredibly welcoming, making everyone feel at home. We also had the pleasure of punting with Max, who added extra charm with their humor and skill on the river. This tour, with its blend of history and fun, is highly recommended for anyone visiting Cambridge.
Our guide Frances was engaging and enthusiastic and even though there was a graduation in the library so the interior of that beautiful building was unavailable and there were a LOT of people in town, Frances got us into one of the colleges and made the whole of Oxford, the architecture and history and details, alive and accessible! I think the upfront cost is a bit high for a group walking tour; however we would have gladly tipped Frances because she was wonderful, but she said goodbye and was very quickly off! If the guides are well compensated or if the cost includes an ample tip, then the cost is okay.
The personal touch of being guided by a former alumni made this the best experience. Annie showed us where she had lived as a student which was Stephen Hawkins previous home! Her knowledge was second to none. Max was our guide on our punt who clearly relished his local knowledge and told us all about the night climbers. You will have to join them both to hear all the fascinating stories!!
Lovely walk around the colleges of Oxford with Alec, that gave us lots of interesting stories and facts about the history of Britain and Oxford and lots of anecdotes as well
Our walking tour with Daisy was supposed to be with two other people but they didn’t show up so we had a personalized tour. Daisy was so lovely and gave us a perfect introduction to several colleges, including funny student anecdotes and examples. Finished with a beautiful funding trip on the river. Perfect tour!
We were a small group with our lovely guide Daisy. We got a lot of information about the how the university system with the diffrent collegues is working. Our guide was a current student so we got insights into the student life there. Daisy took time to answer all our questions, it was like a tour with a friend. It was totally amazing and we can recommend the tour absolutly.
I booked the walking and punting tour with Christ Church entrance. Ed was our guide for the walking portion of the tour, a 1st year Oxford student who did an excellent job of balancing history, local lore, and pop culture. He readily answered all of the questions posited by the group members, and was friendly and helpful. One couple arrived 10 minutes late to the tour, and he waited for them, which was gracious to them but cost the rest of the group time at the various stops. My preference would have been to start without them. The Camera was closed, but Ed got us in at the other attractions, including the Bodelian and Blackwell’s Bookstore. The Christ Church College tour was really nice, a self-guided audio tour, and I was grateful to get in given that tickets were sold out. 2 days in advance when I tried. Ed had given me sufficient information to find my way to the punting queue, though if I had not been familiar with its location prior to the tour I would have wanted a map rather than verbal instructions, as it was nearly 90 minutes away from the time he left me at CCC. The punting queue was very long, and I waited about 30 minutes for my chauffeur. The company was accepting cash only as their card readers had all broken, so the employees were fairly harried and there were some disgruntled customers. Because I was traveling solo, I had a private punting tour provided my Mac, a strapping and kind young man with aspirations for adventure and a good head on his shoulders. I enjoyed my leisurely ride on the river, thanks in great part to the stellar weather—sunny and 20°! All in all it was a lovely way to spend my afternoon.
The tour is very interesting with history and visit of the City. We prefered the fun facts of the student life. Thanks Reece for this expérience
Great tour with Iona who was very knowledgeable about the university and its history followed by a lovely guided punt down the river.
No alumni guide. Limited knowledge. Punting portion of the deal wasn't available, they were closed the day of our booking.
Beautiful , fascinating city; brought to life by our informative, friendly tour guide Reece. Reece was incredibly helpful and made the experience. Would highly recommend. The punting was also fun, again helped by our guide and steer Joe.
I highly recommend the walking tour provided by Oxford Alumni Tours as it was a very informative and enjoyable experience for me and my family. Sim was very engaging, friendly and knowledgable. He answered all of our questions and provided background about the university, student life and really interesting facts about the buildings and how things have evolved. Also, the information was balanced and well rounded, covering all relevant aspects. The unique aspect of the tour was getting insight into the application process from a student. It was thoroughly enjoyable.
We were a group of five (4 over 40's and one 18 yo) and we had such a fun time on this tour. Josie shared so much history in such an engaging and energetic manner, and all of us were amazed at her ability to walk & talk for 90 minutes without even a sip of water. I would totally do this tour again the next time we are in Oxford. We weren't able to enter Christ's Church as it was a Sunday and the available slots were sold out by the time we arrived, but that was okay - we headed over to our punting (managed by a totally different group) and our next guide for our chauffured punt punt was really lovely and we had a very peaceful 30 minute journey...plus lots of laughs trying to get on/off the punt w/o falling in. All in all an enjoyable way to spend our afternoon before having a ginormous Sunday roast!
Overall we enjoyed both the punting and the walking tour. There was a hiccup because our guide called out sick at the last minute, so instead of a 10 am walking tour then punting, we did the punting first then walking at 3. Our punting chauffeur was a local student (just finished his exams / about to go to university) and he was fun and skilled. It was relaxing having a chauffeur- and many who elected not to get a chauffeur seemed to regret it. The punting operation was smooth and well organized. Our walking tour guide Zeus had just graduated and did a really good job in challenging situation. Our group was rather large (2x as large because of the morning tour being cancelled). It was interesting to hear about Oxford from the student perspective. He worked hard to try to get everyone engaged. We prefer morning tours so we can figure out what else we’d like to do for the day. Since it was a highlight tour, we heard about lots of things we would have liked to have known earlier in the day. By the time we had the tour it was really too late to do them. The tour company reluctantly gave us a small discount (after I asked - and then I had to ask again to actually receive it).
Seb our travel guide ( from Portugal ) was fantastic . Very enthusiastic and entertaining. Learnt a lot from him .
The walking tour was unreal Archie was knowledgeable and wasn’t Afraid to talk about the not so positive history’s also really patient The punting was also really enjoyable after the walk
Our tour guide was Archie and he was very knowledgeable on the history of the city. We had a fun few hours with him! He made sure to ask us what we wanted to get out of the tour which was a nice touch and also stopped to take pictures for us. He made the tour feel like we were out exploring with one of our friends. Thanks for a fun day out in the sun! ☀️ Hope graduation goes well!
Our tour guide Archie was a dream. His historical knowledge of the city was fantastic, but made even better with his personality. Would highly recommend!
We had an enjoyable and interesting afternoon in Oxford with Jim who led our tour, and then with the chauffeured punting experience. The tour was very interesting. The group was not large. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the city and university, and our guide was very knowledgeable. The punting tour was a relaxing tour which we enjoyed. The staff at the punting were a little busy, but still well organised. Our chauffeur was a new recruit, but did a good job! My only negative comment is that the link we were sent to review the experience, directed me to an experience in Cambridge, not Oxford.
We do had a wonderful tour today. Irona, the guide, is a lovely and wit young lady, who told us many historical stories related to Oxford and led us to visit her college we are really enjoy this walking tour.
Walking tour of the colleges led by Archie. He was bright, funny, interesting and interested in his party. Very informative talk on the various colleges and their past alumni. I'm taking my wife back later in the year and really hope we get Archie I think they would have loads to talk about. We went onto punt on the river, very relaxing after our walk, sadly didn't get the name of the young man who did all the hard work.
