We did a private tour with Ana and it was fantastic! It was just the four of us, with two children aged 9 and 6, and Ana adapted the tour perfectly to them and to us. We learned so much about Oxford, and she made lots of connections with Harry Potter that the kids loved. Thanks to her own experience, we also got a real insight into student life in Oxford. I showed up early and waited but could not find anyone to give the tour. There are multiple guides in the area. so it can be very confusing as well. Either way, I stayed a while and even returned at the other available times to see if I could talk to anyone but no one ever showed up. I asked for a refund and was denied, I only had one day in the city and this completely ruined it. I’ve never had a poor experience through Viator before, this was extremely disappointing.

I went for the Harry potter tour. The student tour guide was great and really nice! It was her first tour. It would have been very helpful if she would have brought pictures of the location she is showing. But honestly I didn't see anything related to harry potter except for New college. All the other places she mentioned- Divinity college, the library and Christ church were not included and luckily I had to pay entrance to get there another day. I paid a lot for this tour and didn't get to see much.
We had a great tour with our guide Ky. She showed us around with great knowledge and humor and didn't mind answering any follow up question that came up. The group size of 5 to 6 people was just right to be able to interact and hear everything. We had a fun, compact tour which fit perfectly into our daytrip to Oxford. The requested tour fee is more than reasonable and with these great guides it is always good to have a tip at the ready. I did the tour for the second time and every guide gives you different tour and sprinkles their personal experience into what is shared. So a bit late but Thank you again for this wonderful tour Ky!

I took the University tour earlier the same day and it was substantially similar. I would say about 75% of the tour we had already visited in the University tour in the morning. The highlight of the Harry Potter tour should be the entrance to New College where you are supposed to see filming locations, but, it was closed the day of our tour without notice, therefore we ended up not living the Harry Potter experience. Our tour guide Caitlin, was not adviced of the college being closed either, so this was not her fault, nor the tour company, since que college made the decision without previous notice. Although we didn't get to see the college as it was a expected, Caitilin did a great job trying the save the day and giving us a lot of information about the movie filming locations. I wrote directly to Alumni tour customer service and they were prompt on their response and provided me with a solution where we all were in agreement, this was very satisfying to have such an excellent service, not only from Caitlin, but for the tour management as well. Rest assured they will provide a solution in case something can't go as planned. I would suggest to evaluate taking both University and Harry Potter tours.
We had an excellent time with our guide Scarlett. She knew so much about all the different colleges their histories and Harry Potter. The places we went were interesting and well worth the visit. At the end of the tour Scarlett also gave us local reccommendations on food and activities.
Guided around by AK with besides info about Harry Potter shoots a lot of information and personal anecdotes regarding the traditions about studying at Oxford. She got is into some interesting places we wouldn't have been able to enter otherwise which very much added to the tour.

This tour was nice as an adult in terms of seeing the university but our guide was openly not a fan of Harry Potter and couldn’t really be bothered to even fake it. The kids lost interest pretty fast as a result.
Very pleasant experience, got to see a lot of Harry Potter locations (both filming and inspirations). Our guide Srusti (Sushi?) was incredibly knowledgable and helped us find all the photo angles we were looking for! 10/10 would recommend for potterheads, both as a solo or family experience.

We did this tour with Tejas, a current Oxford student, and it genuinely exceeded our expectations. Tejas was enthusiastic without being over-the-top, and he provided us with loads of insider information details about living in an Oxford college. Discovering the different colleges and understanding how the Oxford collegiate system actually works was fascinating, and so much more meaningful coming from someone living it. The Harry Potter locations were a wonderful thread running through it all, but honestly the real magic was the window into Oxford life itself. It felt like being shown around by a friend rather than a guide. Highly recommend.

Great experience, we visited Oxford for the day and booked the Harry Potter tour, our guide Jamie really made the day special taking us around the city and into new college, even giving us suggestions on where to go after and for dinner. Highly recommend the natural history museum too if you have time! Would recommend, we learnt a lot about the city and had a lovely walk in the sun.

Im very sorry to say that I would not recommend this tour…First of all it was very rushed. We had about 2-3 minutes at each stop and it didn’t give me time to take in the experience. We were always rushing to the next sight. And halfway through the tour I actually double checked my booking to see if I was on the right tour cause it didn’t feel like a Harry Potter tour. This tour claims to be a filming location tour and although we did see a few of those, a lot of the other stops felt irrelevant. Like where the cast used to grab a pint or the bookstore where Rowling once had a signing.. Rhere are so many filming locations in Oxford that I would much rather see! I would have preferred to spend my money on the entrance to New College and then see all the locations on my own.
I had the tour with Aruj and it was amazing, she explained all the places patiently and I'd definitely recommend it, also there was a small exhibition going on that she took us there which was not originally in the plan and it was nice.

We got to see all the Harry Potter sites that were accessible to the public during the time slot of the tour and we got to know all the exciting background information about the connection of Oxford and Harry Potter. The tour is much more than just a Harry Potter tour. It combines Harry Potter knowledge with interesting facts about the university and its history. We can highly recommend the tour.
