Patrick was very knowledgeable and engaging. He provided interesting and relevant background to enhance the historical walk.

The experience begins!
The full name of the college is The College of St Mary of Winchester in Oxford. The name "New College" soon came to be used following its completion in 1386 to distinguish it from the older existing college of St Mary, now known as Oriel College.
The most iconic site in Oxford (what you normally see on the postcards). Certainly worth the hype, but is used for a far different function from what most people think.
One of the most important libraries in England built in 1602, responsible for over 12 million books with documents dating back to the Pharaohs.
Argued to be the oldest College at Oxford University!
One of the most beautiful Colleges at Oxford University dating back to 1555
Home to Rhodes Scholars at Oxford, and built as a memorial to Cecil Rhodes; a man so powerful, they names a country after him. Also where Albert Einstein provided a series of lectures while in Oxford.
Founded in 1884 and probably the most entertaining museum at Oxford. Strange and wonderful collections from around the world
A weekly location for C.S Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien to meet and discuss their works.
The wealthiest College at Oxford University, home to Tony Blair
The most exclusive academic institution in the world, home to Laurence of Arabia and some of the best traditions at Oxford University
Founded in 1314, notable for where Tolkien attended as a student
Established in 1458 this is the largest College at Oxford. With incredible grounds, it even boasts it own Deer Park. Home to C.S Lewis and Oscar Wilde.
With a history dating back to 1282, this College is known as one of the most progressive at Oxford. A good chance to tackle the rather slowing moving image of Oxford.
Established in 1683, with a world leading Egyptian section. Also plays host to some of the most valuable paintings in the world.
Nearly 500 years old it has a seriously impressive collection of buildings along with a strong Harry Potter connection. One of the most touristy sites, but a must for some!
The University of Oxford Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in Great Britain and one of the oldest scientific gardens in the world!
A school of public policy founded in 2010, a gem of modern architecture in Oxford.
The meadow is an ancient area of grazing land, still used for horses and cattle, and according to legend has never been ploughed, at least for around 4,000 years.
The experience comes to an end!

Biking and walking through Oxford and nearby canal path and field, our guide Ross was attentive, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Three hours went by quickly and we have a much better understanding of student life and Oxford history.
Ross was an interesting and well informed tour guide! He had great knowledge of local history and personal stories about his studies. His personal stories about studying and working at Oxford University were particularly interesting.
Ross was an excellent tour guide. Very informative and funny. Had a great experience.
Ross was excellent! So knowledgeable and very likable! We had Ross to ourselves because we had the first tour of the morning, which I recommend as there are far less people out and about. Almost every location Ross took us to, we were the only ones! It was perfect!
It was the Harry Potter tour in Oxford with our wonderful guide Anna. Been to places where some of the scenes of the movies were shot. The story behind the scenes that she explained were amazing. I loved the short pop-up quiz questions during the tour to earn ourselves house points. She handed house color scarves which i frequently used to take beautiful photos. Overall, had a good time! Quite entertaining!
We got an insightful tour with George, who had a great deal of knowledge of Oxford and always kept things interesting :)
Thor was amazing. His anecdotes and storytelling imparting the history was just fabulous
Fantastic tour today with Thorstein. He spent just over two hours walking, talking, and sharing amazing history and stories about Oxford and its colleges. Really friendly and engaging he made the tour not just informative but lots of fun.
Sam D. was a very interesting guide. I really enjoyed this 2h tour with a student., the visits and the explanations that were given.
This was well worth it and our student guide was excellent. Definitely do the combo walking and bike tour. The bikes were not the greatest but were adequate. This tour does not take you inside any of the colleges so be sure to do a separate tour for that. We had limited time. Nice introduction or just time for the highlights. We plan to come back and spend at least 3 days.
Fred was a super good guide, he was very informative and had great knowledge on Oxford, the school and the surrounding. It was like travelling with a good friend, highly recommended tour. Nice walking and biking.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and made our experience very pleasant. It was a fun tour with lots of interesting things to see.
Fred was an excellent guide through Oxford. We loved the walking and biking combo. I was a bit nervous about biking though Oxford, but it was easier than I thought it would be. Thoroughly enjoyed and would do again!
This was an excellent trip. Free was knowledgeable, funny, and conversational. He answered all the questions and seemed to genuinely enjoy giving the tour. Seeing the sites was amazing and there were so many beautiful things along the way.
Hannah was an exceptional tour guide! Her in depth knowledge about a city she clearly adores was evident and it made the tour so enjoyable. We learnt so much about the cities history in such a short amount of time. Thank you Hannah for a fantastic tour! We will definitely recommend you to others who visit.
Amazing tour despite the distance restrictions. Hannah was our tourist guide and she definitely well know Oxford most amazing stories and history.
Myself and my partner took a cycle tour around Oxford this weekend with Mark. We both thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour tour. As we were the only 2 people to have signed up for that afternoon's cycle tour, Mark really took the time to chat to us, find out about us and then give us information that he thought we would enjoy. The bikes that the company uses were really comfortable and well maintained. It was great to be able to cover distance and sights that just might not have been possible on a walking tour. It also felt very safe as it is easy to remain socially distanced on the bike. Face masks were compulsory on this tour and Mark wore one the whole time too, but it didn't hinder the experience at all, in fact we appreciated the additional safety precautions that were taken, even in an outside tour. I have taken a couple of cycle tours in other cities, but this one was easily the most interesting and informative one I have done. My partner has never done a tour like this before and so now other companies have a tough act to follow if we do something similar anywhere else! Great value and a brilliant use of our limited time in Oxford. Thank you Mark for a lovely afternoon.
James was an absolutely brilliant guide who kept us all smiling all the way through. Plenty of sights on the tour. Fun, informative and a good pace. Would totally recommend!
Fabulous! What a great introduction to Oxford, its surrounds and an insider's look at the buildings and traditions of the colleges. Jacob was knowledgeable, approachable and passionate about all things Oxford. We learned so much in an entertaining and interesting way. The combination of walking and cycling meant that we got to venture further afield than the centre of town which gave us a real appreciation of this beautiful city. Highly recommended. Thanks Jacob!
The guide was terrific. He was knowledgeable and interesting. The problem was that 3 of the bikes were in bad condition and one bike was actually not rideable. Since there were no other available bikes in the shop, our guide took the terrible bike and gave us his own personal bike. It was actually dangerous because he could not control the bike. Seeing Oxford by bike is a great idea because it's a great change from all the walking tours and you're able to see so much more by bike. However, this company has to get reliable equipment!!!!
I had a fantastic time on James’ 12:30pm walking tour on 30/6/19. He was incredibly knowledgeable, bubbly and funny. The buildings are all so magnificent and it was great to learn fun facts about them. The 2 hours flew by!
we joined the 2h free tour through Oxford. Excellent tour guide with lots of Details About Oxford and college live. We also liked the fact that you decide after the tour how much you want to pay. Highly recommended.
I had the pleasure to have Anna as the tour guide for the 2 hour free walking tour and boy did the time fly by. The tour was extremely interesting and she told us so much about Oxford and how Oxford has influenced books everyone at least has heard of. Kudos to her being a student in Oxford as she could enrich the tour with more student insight knowledge.
Really loved this wlaking tour. We were lucky to have Trevor as our tour guide. an absolute natural with story telling and he really sent chills down the spine as recounted the last hours of the Oxford Martyrs. saw oxford as I had never seen it before and learnt so much.
Thank you Jo for the most wonderful afternoon exploring Oxford. This tour was amazing and highly recommended. Your knowledge and stories made it a magical.
This was such a FUN tour and it is free! That said, it is customary to tip what you think the tour is worth, and you may find yourself tipping the actual price of the tour or more because it really is that good (you can also do a paid tour with Footprints which is more or less the same I believe). Our tour guide was Tom and he was the most chatty, well learned, people friendly person you could ever meet. You could just see him sinking ale in one of the taverns after a tour with the locals where he has lived all his life (he is now writing a book and does the tours to make ends meet). On the tour, you get a jam-packed two hour trip through the Oxford township and visit iconic Oxford institutions/places such as: -Church of St Mary Magdalene (we sat down inside the church for a lesson in Oxford history from Tom covering the St Scolastica Riots) -Exeter College (University of Oxford) inc the Church– where scenes from Inspector Morse have been filmed -The Sheldonian Theatre -Hertford College, Trinity College, Christ Church College (my favourite, the gardens outside are beautiful) and All Souls College - learn about student life, college rivalries etc. All of the colleges have different personalities and attract different types of students. -Divinity School -Merton College and Merton Field -River Cherwell (you talk a walk by this beautiful stream surrounded by trees where people go punting) -Norrington Bookshop -Radcliffe Camera (this houses the Bodleian Library which was used throughout four of the Harry Potter films as Hogwarts infirmary. The tour meets on Broad Street and while it is free you do need to book ahead. You really get an excellent feel for Oxford and its amazing history and architecture so I thoroughly recommend joining this tour. Hopefully you get Tom as your guide!
We really loved this walking tour! Full of history about the city and the colleges. We did the tour with Cosmo, who knows a lot about the city and showed us how much he likes it! Besides, he was very clear during the tour, so it really easy to understand him if you are not an English native speaker.

I can't praise the guide Spencer enough. It was a pity Oxford decided to turn on the bad weather for the cycling and walking tour. But I must stress that the bike I was given didn't have gears nor a bell that worked. Nor was I given an helmet. Considering the traffic and tourists in the city centre, plus the rain I thought this foolhardy of the tour operators. The bike was terrible.
Despite this Spencer was an interesting and informative guide and I thought the tour was worthwhile.

Very nice tour!!! Our tour guide was Tim, which was very nice, friendly, helpful and funny. He told us about History and also come cusiosities about Oxford. As he was borned and raised there, he knew a lot. It was a pitty that it was rainy. Good thing that we scheduled on Monday morning and only our group was there! So we had all his attention and had lots of fun! I recommend!

We enjoyed the sights and history very much. Our guide was very knowledgeable and laid back. He was great to answer all of our questions along the way. My daughter had a new bike and I had an old cranky one, which was fine until the hill LOL. I recommend the guides give a summary of how he tour will go, including if there is a stop along the way to use the toilets and or get water. That way we could know what to expect. We would definitely do this again.

Even though it was raining, Tim our guide, made the tour interesting and satisfying. He was knowledgeable and amusing, giving lovely historical insights and anecdotes.

Tim was able to get us into Magdalen College, his own college, for a tour of its beautiful buildings and grounds.

We abandoned the cycling part of the tour because we were not dressed for the wet weather but I was still very satisfied with the tour.

Highly recommended!

Mar knows very well the history and anecdotes of Oxford universities and students. We really enjoyed the visit and the next round of beers to our health. :)
We did the tour in English x Oxford on 29/7 and we got an excellent guide (I don't remember the name). Lots of data and very well-disposed. He was perfectly understood. Highly recommended.
We have done the FREE TOUR of Oxford and it has been interesting, the guide was in charge of enlivening the visit that lasts slightly more than two hours. The contribution of data and anecdotes allows a quick view of "the world of Oxford". I recommend it to have a first contact with the history of this place.
I booked a free-walking tour of the Old Town of Oxford. The Cosmo guide was very easy to understand and gave us a good overview of the university and Oxford, as well as telling stories about them.
