Booked this tour for a work social and wasn't disappointed. It offered not only insights and photo opportunities around HarryPotter filming locations but also some history about the city and architecture. Our guide Adeliene was personable, knowledgeable and even kitted us out with 4 Harry Potter house coloured scarfs and awarded points for each house during a quiz that lasted the duration of the tour. This tour offered great value for money and did involve some walking on cobblestone streets so avoid heels. We also got a discount at a local cafe and the tourist information souvenir shop.

Not quite Flourish and Blotts but as close as a muggle bookshop can be. Blackwells is the dream of every Ravenclaw, holding approximately holding 250,000 volumes, which translates to 3 miles of books! This is even more impressive knowing that their first store measured only 12 feet square, and held just 700 used books. Don't forget to have a look at the roof of the building from a distance. Don't worry the stone figure you'll see on top isn't someone petrified. It is a statue by Antony Gormley; one of a series of sculptures called “Another Time II”.
One of the largest libraries, with multiple buildings spread across Oxford. Home to archaic medieval books on spells and wizards! Viewed from several locations externally - see Divinity for our entrance to Bodleian.
Despite the name, it is one of the oldest Colleges at Oxford, built-in 1379. With its medieval cloisters and beautiful spaces it is easy to see why they decided to film multiple scenes for Harry Potter here!
Paid Entrance To Part of The Bodleian: This most dramatic site is not only one of the oldest parts of the Bodleian Library University, but it was also used in various scenes when filming of Harry Potter was taking place in Oxford. The Bodleian is a complex of different buildings, this is the section we enter. Instantly recognisable as a Harry Potter site, with one of the best examples of medieval architecture in England.

The tour itself was lovely, our guide Amy was absolutely spectacular, super knowledgeable and a very sweet person. There was a Harry Potter trivia throughout which I thought was super fun. Amy had lots of magic tricks and fun facts which was lovely and the tour was great. We also got to see the lamp that inspired CS Lewis for Narnia and there was plenty of time for photos, toilet stops and Amy was up for a good chat. We were unfortunately unable to go inside new college (not at fault of our guide) but Amy more than made up for it with extra facts about the universities and Oxford history.
Our tour guide Amy was absolutely spectacular, super knowledgeable and full of fun facts about each stop. There was a Harry Potter trivia throughout which was so much fun and she even included a few spells that made the tour super fun. Unfortunately we were unable to go into New College (to no fault of our guide) but Amy made up for it by giving us some extra information and walks around the universities of Oxford. Lots of chances to stop for a break or have a chat and take photos which I loved. Thanks so much Amy!
Not what it says on the tin, barely any Harry Potter. Also, the company know this and send an email afterwards telling customers not to write a bad review and to email them instead! You can easily do it all yourself, especially the 10 minute visit to Blackwells, the high street bookshop?! All the tours we did independently (multi media/ self guided/ guided) were all much cheaper and way better than this. Disappointing.
We had a great time with Sue! She was very friendly and knowledgeable. We would absolutely recommend this tour to Harry Potter fans. We were even lucky to have blue skies and sunny weather.
Great experience. Great guide. Well organized.
Amy was an excellent tour guide. She was very informative and engaging to keep all of us interested.
Visit Oxford with a funny perspective, learning about the city, the university, and of course having fun with stories that inspired Harry Potter books. Even if you are not a fan of Harry Potter, you will enjoy this tour!
Amazing Harry Potter tour with Amy! Loved how she intertwined Oxford’s history with its Harry Potter connections. I even picked up Philosopher’s Stone as a fun UK souvenir. And although I was forced into Hufflepuff for the tour… Team Gryffindor all the way! 🦁⚡️
We had our lovely tour guide Erin, walk us around famous Harry Potter locations sharing lots of interesting trivia about the film but also sharing other local history including Narnia & Alice tails. Family of 5 all enjoyed our tour. Thanks for a Great experience!
Our guide Erin was very knowledgeable about the different places in the filming of Harry Potter. We thoroughly enjoyed our guided walking tour. I would definitely recommend it to any Harry Potter fans.
Our Italian guide was great and fun and even though it was rainy she kept it lively and fun - i only wish it had been longer!!
My boyfriend and I did this tour with Sue, who was absolutely wonderful and gave us so much great information. About Oxford itself and Harry Potter related filming scenes. Seeing these buildings and learning the history of them was a dream. The process for the tour was well worth the money. We were very pleased with our experience. Once again, our tour guide Sue was amazing and so knowledgeable about Oxford. She also gave us time to look around on our own before she continued on with the tour, which was nice, nothing felt rushed. I would 10/10 recommend this tour to anyone travelling to Oxford. Thank you to Sue for a wonderful experience. Those memories will last a lifetime.
Even though we had the most British weather imaginable, our wonderful guide Sue made sure, that we had an awesome experience on our almost 2 hour long tour. Since we were the only two people showing up, we had the fortune of being the center of attention and all our questions and additional interests (such as small facts about Tolkien and Lewis) were incorporated. The quiz Sue offered on the tour was obviously won by my partner, who ist the bigger Harry Potter fan, but was nevertheless very entertaining.
Lovely walking tour of Oxford with some Harry Potter sites and fun facts and quizzes thrown in - which made it perfect for a family and meant the kids got involved whilst we still saw all the lovely sites Oxford has to offer. Wonderful guide and a great way to spend 1.5 hrs in the beautiful city of Oxford.
It was a really magical experience and pretty enjoyable for kids
Amy was amazing and very informative about Oxford and also Harry Potter!! I highly recommend this tour!!
Awesome tour. The guide, Sue, was great and told us some super interesting stories about Oxford and how it connects to Harry Potter. We got to see so much in a short time and I probably would have not been able to figure all the spots on my own.
Stephanie took us on a brilliant and informative tour of Oxford and it’s Harry Potter highlights, including filming locations in the Bodleian Libraries and New College. Lots of opportunities to take photos and learnt many interesting facts about Oxford.
Fun and interactive. Very informative.
The tour was a great experience for my family and our guide Henry was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great introduction to the schools and the kids enjoyed seeing several Harry Potter filming sites.
Anna did a great job as the guide.
We booked the Harry Potter tour especially for our 7 year old granddaughter and had a wonderful time. Adeline our tour guide made it for us, she was very engaging, full of knowledge about Harry Potter but also about Oxford University. She made the tour really fun with lots of little quizzes along the way. The tickets were expensive but they did include entrance fees that you would have had to pay anyway. Sean, Wendy & Alba - Stratford Upon Avon
Too expensive for such a short tour. Meh
Nice walking tour but very disappointed that we could not go into the Bodlean library or the New College dining hall. We realize that they could not control the access, but they could have dine a better job of providing alternative sites to see instead.
I was disappointed because I couldn’t understand the guide. She was such a lovely and peppy and very knowledgeable tour guide but her accent made it very difficult. I liked the Harry Potter scarves and a couple quizzes but it was just too much. I wanted more of the facts about each building. And more of the actual buildings . We spent time inside a bookstore. Why? Just show us and let’s get more in to see. It was a very frustrating experience. I wish we could get our money back.
Our guide Alissa was great. She was knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. Seeing the quad at New College where Mad Eye Moody turned Malfoy into a ferret was the highlight. Alissa was full of Harry Potter facts and we had a fun trivia competition between the four Hogwarts houses. Some of the tours connection to Harry Potter was tenuous at best, but overall it was very worth it and enjoyable.
It was such a lovely experience majorly because of our tour guide, Adeline. We enjoyed alot, I being a harry potter fan got to know so many knowledge from her but apart from that, she told us a lot of the actual life in oxford. Her behavior has made all of us fond of her and made us feel welcomed. The fee was reasonable and worth it.
Anna was really nice and funny. The places were great, and not only Harry Potter realated. It was nice to learn about the different places. I would recommand this tour ! We had a lovely time.
Alicia was excellent as a guide, authentic and knowledgeable. Myself and my daughter loved the history and Harry Potter references. It was about 2 hours and felt the right amount of time. Highly recommend.
It’s was a really wonderful experience even though I’m not a big fan of Harry Potter. It’s a nice way to get to know a little of Oxford’s history, and our guide, Adeline, was the best, she’s super nice and funny
Our tour guide, Adeline was absolutely amazing! She was so energetic, funny, and engaging throughout the tour, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. She shared interesting stories and information in such a lively way that it never felt boring or like a typical guided tour. Her great energy and sense of humour really made the tour memorable. Highly recommended!
A very balanced Oxford University tour with bits of Harry Potter shooting locations. We enjoyed it very much and learnt a lot about the campus. Stefanie was a nice and funny guide.
Anna was a delightful guide for our Harry Potter walking tour. She was well-informed about not only the Harry Potter series, but she also shared additional historical facts. A great way to pend the morning.
Very nice and fun tour. Really knowledgeable guide (Sue) with lots of great stories about Oxford and Harry Potter.
Adeline was absolutely lovely, amazing, and caring! 😎😊 she was a huge potter fan as well. I would highly recommend you to book a tour with her! She was just good fun to be around and incredible! 🌸
Alessia was an excellent guide. Our whole family has a great experience.
The guide did a great job, really fun visit. Adeline was really kind and fun. We learned a lot about both Oxford and Harry Potter.
The tour was amazing! The guide was very knowledgeable about the buildings and the Harry Potter aspects throughout the campus. It was amazing to see the inspirations throughout. I think the value was worth it as you got access to a few different areas on the tour that would have cost extra if doing alone.
It was a lot of fun and there was some good history learned in addition to the Harry Potter side of the tour.
Adriana, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us about Harry Potter and facts/history of the college. It was about 1.5 hours long and we walked about 1-1.5 miles total
We took a Harry Potter Walking Tour of Oxford while visiting the UK from Australia. Mum chose the activity as it was her birthday, but we all loved it! We had a guide called Anna and she was really friendly and happy to answer all my questions! She even did a Harry Potter quiz along the way to make it even more interesting. We learnt some very cool facts. Even though I thought the chapel would be boring (not Harry Potter related), it was awesome! Thank you for a great day Anna :) Dana (age 10)
I was very happy with pick up and Harry Potter Tour Anna Hedyn was excellent and her words flowed/one has to know much as a tour guide. I would book another tour with FootPrints.
We had a tour with Anna and she was a delight from start to finish! As Harry Potter fans, we were provided with so much fun trivia that we didn’t know before the tour. The length of the guided tour was 1.5 hours (which was perfect), but we were permitted to stay longer if we wished to enjoy New College (and the iconic cloisters so well known from the Harry Potter films). We highly recommend taking this tour if you’re a fan who also enjoys learning about history!
Anna was a wonderful tour guide. She made the experience interactive and gave us a lot of insightful facts about Oxford. It was surreal seeing Harry Potter filming sites and locations that’s inspired J.K. Rowling work. It felt very special seeing these places in person.
Henry has been an amazing host in Oxford! Recommended!!
We both enjoyed our experience. Thank you to Stephanie for the fun tour
Fantastic time with our guide Anna. She was brilliant, engaging and made the trip tremendously enjoyable. Great things to see and appreciate. 🙂
Adeline was a great tour guide! She did a great job talking to adults as well as children, and she knew a lot! She definitely made the tour a much more positive experience for us. The tour itself had minimal Harry Potter content but it is advertised as if it’s a WB tour in London! Nevertheless, it was a pretty good experience in Oxford.
We really enjoyed this trip and loved the Harry Potter references. Our guide, Henry, was personable, knowledge and ran the tour at a perfect pace. A great morning seeing beautiful sights.
