Great tour of the Cotswolds with Ron. His commentary was very informative and interesting. The bus was comfortable and having a small group was very nice.

The village is best known for Arlington Row, a row of 17th-century weavers' cottages that look like they’ve stepped straight out of a fairy tale. These iconic stone cottages, with their steeply pitched roofs and picturesque setting, are one of the most photographed sights in the Cotswolds. The tranquil River Coln winds through the village, adding to its charm, with ducks and swans gliding gracefully on its clear waters. Bibury also boasts lush meadows, charming tea rooms, and the historic Bibury Trout Farm, where visitors can learn about traditional trout farming or simply enjoy the serene surroundings. With its timeless beauty and enchanting atmosphere, Bibury offers an unforgettable glimpse into the heart of the English countryside.
Once a major Roman stronghold, Cirencester blends rich history with vibrant market town energy. Explore ancient ruins, boutique shops, and the stunning parish church at its heart. With its lively atmosphere and cultural charm, Cirencester adds depth and character to any Cotswold tour.

Stroll along the tree-lined banks and admire the quaint stone cottages that line the streets, creating postcard-perfect views at every turn. You can explore attractions like the Model Village, a detailed replica of Bourton itself, or visit the Cotswold Motoring Museum, home to vintage cars and nostalgic memorabilia. Our guide Rob was fantastic! Rob provided a great range of historical and local information, he was very clear and easy to understand, professional and personable. Enough time was allowed in each location to have a short walk and linger a little in a favourite spot.
Great day tour of the Cotswolds from Oxford. Martin is an excellent guide and a local who knows a great deal about the history and culture of the Cotswolds. It’s an active day moving from village to village and Martin keeps everyone on time so we could see everything in the allotted time. Highly recommend this tour!
A lovely day visiting the Cotswold’s. We appreciated spending time with Martin and his knowledge of some back roads was additive when we encountered diversions. It was an intimate group which gave us the opportunity to ask questions of Martin, and converse with the other couples.
Martin was a beyond excellent guide! It was obvious he had a passion for the area and knew it well. Almost any question we threw at him he was able to give a detailed answer, and his enthusiasm was contagious. The van was spacious and comfortable, the stops well selected, but Martin's charm and knowledge was the highlight. I would go again!
Today we travelled with Martin to the Cotswolds. Thanks to him, we had a fantastic day. Martin shared the history of the area with a wonderful touch of humour. We learned a lot and truly enjoyed the charming villages and beautiful landscapes of the Cotswolds. Definitely worth a visit! Highly recommended!
Martin was very knowledgeable as he lives in the Cotswalds as well. He took us to a few of the more popular towns but also went to some out of the way villages, which were also very nice. Overall a very nice tour.
Martin made all the difference. He was the perfect guide for my family. Would absolutely recommend.
Great local guide. Small group. Really knew his stuff. Every question we gave him, he had an interesting and informed answer. We were a blended family - with older and younger participants and he handled all our needs and interests brilliantly. Would absolutely use the same company again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Cotswolds. We were led by a very knowledgeable guide, Martin, who educated us about the history of the area, and who truly helped us understand why this part of England is so special. We visited 4 different towns, traveling in a very comfortable van. It was a small group, which made it easy to share conversation. The whole day was absolutely worth the experience, and we would recommend it to anyone.
Our guide Robert Frost gave us a very good insight into key events of British history linked to the sights on this tour and told us a lot about the history and current situation of Oxford University. As non-native speakers we could understand him perfectly (in contrast to a guide from Oxford Walking tours whom we barly understood). Time management was perfect.
I would highly recommend this tour! Martin’s knowledge of the area was amazing and because you are a smaller group you are taken through smaller towns and see amazing old architecture and sites.
Outstanding tour and tour guide. Our guide, Martin provided such a personal touch with his broad historical knowledge of the area! The tour made for a beautiful day! Thank you for an amazing experience!
Martin was very knowledgeable. Good tour pace was a little bit fast but most of the group kept up. Bus was excellent well air-conditioned and comfortable.. we get a five stars
It what’s a really really good experience with a very good guy a lot of information
Tour was fantastic. Martin, our driver and guide, was knowledgeable and fun to be with. Took us to a number of beautiful town/villages and also on many back roads that provided a unique view and experience of the area. Thank you for a great day out,
A really good thorough tour, we really enjoyed it. The driver was very knowledgeable and gave a complete history of villages and areas that we otherwise would have been totally unaware of. The value of this interaction was very high for us. The mini bus was excellent, comfortable seats (with a USB port), quiet and air conditioned. In 35 degree heat outside we were comfortable and cool inside.
Cotswold is beautiful! Martin was funny and very knowledgeable guide. From farming and nature to industry and history of the country- serious and funny facts. We enjoyed the views of lovely villages , wonderful houses and gardens. The weather was unexpectedly warm but air conditioned van helped us in between. Absolutely loved the views and would recommend to anyone!
Great driver, knowledgeable, friendly.
Exceptional day! Thank you for an enchanted experience
The trip was great! There’s enough time to roam around the towns and still get the facts and info to love Cotswolds. Martin was perfect.
My husband and I had an extraordinary travel experience visiting the Cotswolds with Footprints Tours- they have an unmatched combination of authentic, local knowledge and keen attention to detail. With personalized consultation and thoughtful consideration of our interests and timeline, they created a fantastic bespoke itinerary without a single wasted moment. The phrase "off the beaten path" may be a cliche, but Footprints truly takes you there. Our guide Martin was so engaging and accommodating, with the highest commitment to ensure every aspect of our trip was a success. Whether you are going for a day or a week, look no further for an exceptional and unforgettable Cotswolds vacation.
Fantastic experience! Vehicle was spacious and comfortable. Tour leader and driver was on time and kept to a good schedule with good planning. Leader was also exceptionally knowledgeable about details of what we were seeing and the historical context.
Our tour guide Martin was excellent, very knowledgeable and loved the Cotswolds. He provided great information on the history and character of the sights. The size of the tour group was great and the van very comfortable.
Martin did a splendid job on our tour today. He filled us with wealth of information about each area we visited as well as those we passed along the way. His commentary was interesting and included historical, cultural, political, and religious information relevant to each area we visited. I especially enjoyed information about some of the estate owners and others that live or have properties in the area. We left promptly at 8:30 am and were back to our starting point by 4:30 pm. The motor coach is comfortable and I felt like we had enough time to get a good understanding and view. Overall, it was a day well spent and I highly recommend Martin and this tour.
This was such a wonderful tour. Our guide was completely knowledgeable of everything in the area. He even brought us to see some Highland cows, which made me very happy.
I have had a magnificent time with my family. The trip and the excursions were fascinanting, in addition to the incredible explications we were given. Very nice people who took great care of us. Very recommended, they will not disappoint you.
What an amazing guide Martin is. Information well given, driving safe and comfortable. Really enjoyed the tour overall!
Martin was such a great guide. Highly recommend. I would do another tour with them for sure. Was very educational and fun
Martin was a knowledgeable guide and personal host. His connection to the area lends an authentic 'welcome visitor: experience. Good mix of more formal tour and personal exploration - well paced and highly recommended!
My son and I really enjoyed our day tour to the Cotswold with Martin, who was absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring Cotswold.
Martin was an excellent guide. Seemed to know everything and everybody. Had an extremely immersion experience. We were fortunate that it was shouldern season and so got more out of it.
Toured the Cotswolds with driver Martin, who was a fount of local and national knowledge. And a great driver, to boot (pun intended). Highly recommended. Planning to go again with Footprints—to Bath and Stonehenge.
Great guide that has a lot of local knowledge and also goes out of his way to show interesting places on his trip!
This was a fabulous tour and far exceeded our expectations! We learned about the area in a very comprehensive and fun way. We were a small group, had a great comfortable van. Our guide Martin was excellent in driving, knowledge, interest in us and pointing out points along the way. He engaged us with conversations, remembered our comments and noted things we were interested in throughout the tour. We got background on what is the Cotswolds, what makes it special, what happened and what is happening now. It’s the stone, the rivers, the sheep, the wool, the mills. We followed a river that connects several of the villages we explored. We got info and perspectives of each village and what made each special. We walked the villages, saw selected highlight aspects of each. And we learned about recent events and trends in the Cotswolds. Wow! We want to come back and explore more.
This was a very comfortable small group tour and one of the best options to see the Cotswold’s. Our tour guide and driver, Martin, was very knowledgeable and engaging. I would highly recommend this experience.
Really interesting tour and Martin was an excellent guide. Minibus was also very comfortable and we enjoyed our stops at the villages we visited. Would highly recommend!
Martin was the perfect driver and guide, having lived for decades in the Cotswolds himself. He provided a good mix of historical information and current day details.
Had a brilliant day with Martin; top bloke and very knowledgeable about the Cotswold, has local knowledge with great detail. Took us to all the main places, let us sample the local areas around the Cotswolds and took us to some unique locations.
Such a wonderful tour! Martin provided an incredibly educational yet interesting tour. He didn’t simply drop us off at each town, he led us through the sites and taught us the history while giving plenty of time to explore on our own. He also avoided high tourist sites, which was nice. If you enjoy touring scenic villages while learning the history, this is for you.
Great afternoon exploring and discovering the English country side! Our guide made us visit Cotswolds, very knowledgeable and memorable. Thanks Martin, from Belgium :))
Our trip today to coltswald was absolutely amazing, the tour guide Martin was so fun to be with and very informative about the rich history of this place. We had such a great time with the experiences such as the towns, the car ride and being with Martin.
Very enjoyable and informative. The roads were quite busy, as it was summer school holidays with quite a few crowds in certain villages. Our guide Martin, intentionally tried to avoid crowds where ever possible. Martin was knowledgeable about the area and historical background. The small group is much appreciated as it lends itself to more discussions and questions.
Excellent small group tour. Our guide/driver was well versed in local history and all things ‘Cotswolds’ Very calm pleasant and informative tour - spent enough time at different locations. Not rushed in and out. Fun facts shared. Good bit of walking so be sure to have comfy shoes. Highly recommend
Martin was full of interesting stories. He lives in the Cotswolds and interacts socially with people who live there so I felt like we had access to “inside information.” He had a real grasp of British history, current and past. I loved it!
Very beautiful day, I will allow myself to say, however, that I find the price a bit high.
Perhaps I did not understand the explanation of why we did not go to Bourton-on-the-Water, which was on the itinerary. I really did not like that at all. Then Martin was very kind and the sites were very beautiful.
We were on a half day tour to Cotswold with the guide Martin. Perfect focus and Martin as guide excellent! Good with a small bus and very comfortable. Can warmly recommend the tour, guide Martin and Footprints as organizer.
Stunning places, itinerary and of course, the guide. He explained everything attentively and took us through areas where they do not take all tourists.
Martin accompanied us and taught us the best about the Costwolds. We are very grateful for your work, impeccable. Highly recommended experience.
