Quite simply the best British hotel I have ever visited. We booked 4 rooms for a family holiday, for a group of 10, ranging from 8-80 years of age. Hotel was easy to locate, beautiful building, peaceful and calm. Rooms were well equipped with anything we needed. Our family room was wscellent with a teddy, mini robe, selection of toys and books. Comfy beds and pillows. The pantry’s were a hit. Lovely atmosphere throughout tbe bars, restaurant and hotel in general. Pool and spa excellent. Hired a padel court. Whole place spotless. Food was superb! We ate at hotel both nights. Best scrambled eggs I have ever had were served for breakfast. Excellent service from all staff. Site felt safe, felt able to leave the kids to wander and play on the lawn or in play area unsupervised. Couldn’t find a single fault! Looking to return!

Celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary here and what a delight! Thoroughly recommend. Affordable luxury at its best, I’ve been to hotels that cost 10x more but are in no way 10x better so that’s a great deal to me. Spa was fab, staff were lovely, brasserie had a great vibe and whipped butter, what more can you ask for? Ignore any negativity in the reviews about the breakfast, it was great. There is a proper coffee machine behind the bar if you ask for it.
From the moment we arrived to when we sadly left experienced truly excellent 5 star service! Ate in the brasserie with our family fantastic food choices and olivia was amazing. Claire in Spa was also outstanding best massage ever. We were upgraded and room was very comfortable loved the snacks pantry with refill bottles lovely touches. Proper thought and attention to everything being eco friendly and sustainable. We look forward to coming back was One of the best hotel we have stayed in world!
The location is beautiful rural area with nice views. Its about 10 minutes from the a34, Hotel Gym was on point, running cycling, stair machines cables, weights to 22kg dumbells. I alway think hotels often skimp on this part but the retreat is was enough get a workout, snd the equipment was good quality l The Ribeye beef £38 was cooked to perfection, rare. I asked for house red which was a full of flavour wine and set the standard. The outdoor pool wss lovely. Loads of other things to do there Im coming back
We just had a one night stay in their Sunday deal, which is very good value, we stayed in the sutton suite which is a lovely large room on a very good rate (only thing that let it down was the power of the shower). They had a little cocktail bar in the room to make your own cocktails which was a nice touch. Its a really nice setting in the countryside. We enjoyed our massages and our dinner in Yu was really tasty with super attentive service. The service elsewhere was not to the same standard but generally ok. The spa was nice but quite small, which was fine as the weather allowed for sitting outside by the outside pool but not sure i would want to go in winter/ rain. I think there are some definite areas of improvement- better hot breakfast options (a lot of hotels now offer a continental buffet with a menu of hot options) whereas the retreat is just a buffet with one egg option for example, also only help your self machine coffee at breakfast. You were told to sit anywhere you like so just felt very much a sort yourself breakfast. Very at odds with our Yu dinner. Also with the spa, there were no dressing gowns unless you brought from your room which is a bit annoying when you cant check in until 4 but can use the spa beforehand. They could only offer us towels In summary it feels like a solid 4 star hotel but not going the extra mile to make it a 5 star. i think i would be slightly disappointed paying the full price point but at the price point of the Sunday night deal it was a great stay overall!
