We cannot thank the Feldon Valley team enough for our amazing stay. We stayed with our Cocker spaniel and booked because it was a dog friendly hotel. This hotel is definitely dog friendly rather than just accommodating the rooms were fantastic and very clean the cookies, coffee pods and water that we topped up each day were fantastic touch. The reception desk team were absolutely fantastic and really friendly, the bar at night which the dogs can go to with the fire pit was such a special touch and the drinks were great. We even asked if we could have a sausage to help keep our dog calm whilst we went out for a special meal and they were more than accommodating and contacted the kitchen to sort this for us. Breakfast was fantastic considering it was included in the price and the staff there were just as friendly and attentive. Coming from the Northwest, the location was perfect as it meant that we had a nice stop off before driving to more popular destinations further into the Cotswolds. We will definitely be returning!

We only ended up staying at Feldon Valley because our original Booking.com accommodation had been double-booked. A Booking.com advisor told us to book an alternative property and assured us we would be refunded the difference afterwards. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our room was nothing like what had been advertised. We specifically booked it because it was advertised as having a kitchenette, dishwasher and other self-catering facilities, as we had already purchased around £50 worth of food for a birthday weekend away. Instead, we were given a room with two single beds and none of the advertised amenities. When we raised this with the hotel, the manager acknowledged that the room did not match the listing but immediately blamed Booking.com for the error. We were told Booking.com had made a mistake with the listing, yet as the accommodation provider, I would have expected Feldon Valley to take responsibility for ensuring their property was advertised accurately and that guests received what they had booked. Instead, we were left in the middle while the hotel and Booking.com appeared to pass responsibility between each other. As the hotel was fully booked, we could not be moved to a room with the facilities we had paid for. Our £50 food shop became unusable as we had no way of cooking it, and although we were given a £40 restaurant voucher, we still had to pay an additional £49 for dinner because we had no alternative. This completely disrupted what was meant to be a birthday weekend. The most disappointing part is that months later, despite discussions between Feldon Valley and Booking.com, nothing has been resolved and we have received no reimbursement. Rather than taking ownership and ensuring their guests were looked after, Feldon Valley chose to blame Booking.com, leaving us significantly out of pocket and with a stay that was nothing like what we had booked. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing, and I would encourage anyone booking to double-check directly with the hotel that the room and facilities advertised are actually what will be provided.
Had a lovely getaway with my partner. Start to finish it was amazing. The rooms were clean, and beautifully presented. The restaurant was fantastic-food was so tasty and the staff, in particular Annette were attentive and made the experience so relaxing. The food is also great value for money as it wasn’t breaking the bank. The photos really don’t do it justice. We will be back again!!
We've loved visiting Feldon over the years, which is why it's disappointing to be writing this review. The food is still excellent, and the staff we dealt with were friendly and professional throughout. This review is not about the staff themselves. The problem is that the restaurant now feels under-resourced. Having worked in hospitality, I understand the challenge of rising labour costs, but Feldon has, in my opinion, fallen on the wrong side of the balance between controlling costs and delivering good customer service. On Father's Day there were delays from the moment we arrived. The bar struggled to cope with golfers finishing their competition while lunch guests were arriving, but the service issues continued long after the golfers had gone. Throughout the meal it consistently felt as though the restaurant was operating at least one member of staff short. There were also a number of avoidable issues: * They had run out of Aperol. * Our second bottle of Crémant Rosé hadn't been chilled. * There was no salt and pepper on the table. * Starter plates weren't cleared before the mains arrived. * An incorrect main course was initially delivered. * Horseradish wasn't offered with the beef order and only arrived well after the meal had been served. Individually these are minor issues, but together they point to operational problems rather than isolated mistakes. This is actually the second time I've had to raise concerns with Feldon, the first also involving stock availability. That's worrying because it suggests these are becoming recurring issues. I'd like to see Feldon return to the standard that made it one of our favourite places to eat. The kitchen is still producing excellent food, but the front-of-house operation needs attention before it begins to damage what is otherwise a very good restaurant.
We had such a lovely stay at Feldon Valley — overall, a genuinely excellent experience. We’ve stayed at quite a few dog-friendly hotels before, but this is by far the most truly dog friendly place we’ve experienced. Being able to bring our dog to both breakfast and dinner made such a difference. At breakfast, a member of staff even asked if our dog would like homemade sausages or treats — that level of thoughtfulness really meant a lot, thank you. The coffee at breakfast was also excellent — properly well made, which we really appreciated. At dinner, the staff kindly brought over a water bowl for our dog without us even asking. In the room, there was a clean dog bed and bowls already prepared — everything was spotless and clearly well looked after. A special mention to the cleaning team — absolutely amazing. The room was cleaned quickly and to a very high standard, which did not go unnoticed. We also really enjoyed the outdoor fire area — such a cosy and relaxing touch. :) Overall, a fantastic stay. We loved the peaceful, away-from-it-all atmosphere and would absolutely return.
