This is a great little business combining accommodation with a bistro style cafe. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and sociable. We felt very comfortable with the service and enjoyed some lovely food - the Bresaola speciality pizza was very tasty indeed. The room we had was a useable size and had all the essentials. It also had its own access from the street which gave us a sense of having our own private space - particularly helpful for taking the dog out for his walks and comfort breaks. The location is just outside the congestion zone but close to the city centre and the lovely Christchurch Meadow, a short walk away. There are limited parking spaces but booking in good time ahead enabled us to secure an allocation. A lot of interesting perks are available.

We stayed at Ethos Hotel Oxford as a family, and overall, it met our needs very well. One of the biggest advantages is that it offers the comfort and convenience of a home, especially for families and longer stays. Having a kitchen, fridge, oven and washing machine was incredibly useful for us. The staff were respectful and helpful. Whenever we asked for cleaning, they took care of it. A special thank you to Mohammed for being so friendly, warm and welcoming, and for the lovely conversations. He really made our stay more enjoyable. The main downside for us was the location. It is a little away from the centre of Oxford, so getting back and forth, especially when we had shopping bags, could sometimes be tiring. There are also a few things that could be improved. The washing machine was very noisy and vibrated so strongly while running that it almost felt like the whole place was shaking! The bathroom ventilation system also felt a little outdated, and having air conditioning would have made the stay more comfortable, particularly on warmer days. Overall, we found it a very practical place for a family stay. The kitchen facilities and home-like amenities are a real advantage, especially if you are planning to stay in Oxford for a longer period. We would recommend it to families looking for a comfortable and practical place to stay.
We had a lovely 3 night stay. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The compact room had everything we needed and was comfortable. Good cooked breakfast selection (à la carte) and the free snacks were a nice touch. A good location with an easy walk into the historic centre of Oxford
Stayed here two nights in August 2026. The staff were absolutely brilliant, friendly and accommodating. The food was very good; from the full English breakfast, the waffles and pancakes, to lunch and dinner (the pizza and lasagne were among the best we had outside of Italy). The room was spacious, well equipped (including iron and ironing board, microwave and mini fridge, glassware, cutlery, cups, etc.) and clean, as was the bedroom. While having air-conditioning was nice, considering the warm weather, it was a bit noisy. It is recommended to reserve Parking beforehand, as this is very limited. Costs are 35 pound a day, but that included 20 pounds credit for the Caffè, which we ended up using anyway. The hotel was about 10 minutes walking distance from the city and the neighbourhood it was situated in was nice and quiet. Would stay here again.
When we pulled up to the address i was thinking this is not what we had booked! But, at check in the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were shown to our room and it was clean , larger than expected and modern. The shower was amazing, the best one i have had for my whole holiday, the bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast the next morning and there was nothing to fault. The location was an easy walk to the town centre and any activities. This was a lovely, quiet hotel full of surprises. N
