Crab & Boar

The Crab and Boar is our local pub and have been many times, whether it’s been with the dog for a drink on a summers afternoon or on a Sunday for their roast dinners. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and give great service, specially Josh who goes above and beyond with his customer service, he was great with the dogs, giving them treats and finding a water bowl for them, while keeping it topped up throughout our visit. Where it is our local we are yet to use there rooms for a night but from what I have heard from friends and family members it is a very nice stay. It is a lovely traditional country pub with lots of character. It’s in a great location with beautiful countryside views. It has great outside seating overlooking the surrounding countryside, it is a dog friendly too! Inside, the pub has a warm, rustic atmosphere that makes it an ideal place to relax and unwind. The exposed wooden beams, cosy lighting, traditional furnishings, with a fireplace which is great on an autumn or winter afternoon after walking the dog. It’s a great pub for everything from a casual drink to a leisurely meal or a special occasion. Throughout the year when we have been I’ve seen them advertise different events throughout the year some being it’s summer BBQ and cinema nights plus more. The food has always been brilliant, tasting great and being well prepared every time, would definitely recommend the Sunday dinner. Overall, the Crab & Boar is charming pub with plenty of character and a beautiful countryside setting with great staff — well worth considering for a relaxing visit.

Stayed for one night before continuing our journey north. Wonderful location, lovely views and very peaceful. Room was lovely and well equipped. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent, good choices, lovely food all sustainably reared and locally sourced. Exceptional service, we will stay again.Highly recommended

Only used the place for a friends' lunch. Lovely location, very friendly greeting on arrival and staff very friendly and good service throughout. The interior of the restaurant was very clean, smart and had a good feel about it. The food was very good and certainly well above average, but not outstanding.

Amazing stay! We are so impressed with the stay. Bedroom and bathroom was clean with personal touches that made the room so cozy and comfortable. The shower gel, hand soap and cream smelt lovely, very good quality. Coffee and tea in the room too was a nice touch. The food was amazing! We had the cod and chips for dinner which was lovely. For breakfast I had an omelette and my husband had the full English breakfast. Food was cooked perfectly and very good quality. The staff were lovely too, Josh went above and beyond making sure we had a lovely stay. 100% recommend for a stay and food. Thank you!
