I’ve updated this review following discussion with manager. We are staying in their Junior suite. Sadly we were not able to check into our room until after 4:30 pm for reasons that changed as the conversation evolved. We were offered a drink and coffee but not immediately and were told we could check into our room at 3 pm which, it became clear was never true. When we did get into room we had to phone to get stuff that should have been in the room. Also TV didn’t work so had to get that fixed. The guy who did that was great. It’s a nice room but oddly the TV is in the wrong place -you can’t easily watch from either bed or sofa. There was a light in front of it that we had to remove. It has the basics but no shower cap or toiletries other than hand cream and wash. I guess for a suite we have expectations , that this hotel doesn’t meet. I feel a bit guilty even complaining really as in the general way of things , none of it is very important. Other than we won’t be using the hotel again or recommending it. I understand that things happen, but it’s how they are dealt with that matters. We were having a lovely weekend up to this point but the hotel rather spoilt this However, I pride myself in being fair and not just a “Mr Grumpy “. The manager contacted us today and apologised and offered us a discount. Also we have had breakfast. Staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was fairly good.

I just checked into one of the castle view rooms with the assistance of Stavan Dave. He provided excellent customer service. He was friendly and kind. I arrived a few hours before normal check in time due to arriving in the UK on a morning flight. I was quite tired and planned to sit in the lobby until check in time. I also had two reservations for two different rooms due to one reservation being made by someone else for me. When I spoke to Stavan, he offered to see if I could check in early and he was able to arrange having both reservations in the same room so I would not have to check out and in again during my stay. I greatly appreciated that Stavan anticipated my needs and did what he could to meet those needs. The room looks great and is very clean! I’m looking forward to staying here for the next few days!
After what can only be described as a traumatic night in a nearby hotel in Oxford (it was our first time in the city), we booked an emergency room at the Marriott Courtyard. And thank god we did. From the moment we entered (super early in the morning), Masood (the night manager) immediately put us at ease and helped us with getting a room ready as soon as possible and helping us in any way he could. During our stay, every member of staff was super friendly, accommodating and on the ball. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and I can’t wait to come back. As we were leaving we noticed the hotel is on Paradise Street, which is apt as the staff really felt heaven sent with their warmth and efficiency. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of town and everything was an easy walking distance.
I just wanted to let you know that myself, my wife and my family friends visited the Hotel on 30th July, 2026 and had a wonderful time. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were truly impressed by the warm hospitality and excellent service provided by the staff. It was a delightful evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Thanks to all concerned 👍
The Courtyard by Marriott Oxford City Centre is very conveniently located in the heart of the city. The surrounding area is highly walkable, and the nearby shopping center has plenty of stores, restaurants, and other dining options. It was easy to explore Oxford without needing to drive. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable, although it felt a little small for my preference. Still, the space was well maintained and worked well for a short stay. The biggest drawback is the lack of on-site parking. There is a small area in front of the hotel where you can briefly pull in to unload luggage, but after that you need to park elsewhere. The parking area we used was about a three- to four-minute walk from the hotel, which was manageable but not especially convenient. Overall, the excellent location and clean, modern accommodations outweighed the parking inconvenience. I would recommend this hotel, especially for travelers who want to be within easy walking distance of central Oxford.
