Not sure when the hotel used to be 4 stars, but definitely not anymore. The advertised pool, sauna and gym are far from relaxing ( white, bright lights, no windows, sauna wood falling apart, shower not working). In 2 days there only 1 receptionist did not act as if we were disturbing with our presence.
I chose this hotel as it has a pool and we knew it was raining that weekend. Very clean hotel .room was not huge but absolutely fine and cleaning is impeccable. Friendly reception staff and very quick check-in. Breakfast was good. loved the fresh juices, fruits and warm croissants. Lovely older gentleman . Sorry I don't have his name. really sweet on the weekend breakfast shift. Pool was very clean. Did not try the sauna or Gym ( too busy with the croissants 🙄) for us the location was fine. We did 15000 steps those days about 15 mins to the historic part of town so may be too far for some but we were happy to walk ( makes up for the gym absence) i got a great price ,it was great value for money and I would definitely go back. It is not too warm in the room as some reviews say. There are huge windows and a thermostat in any case!
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and the reason for 4 stars is the same as last time - no air conditioning (due to time of year) and no tea and coffee facilities The hotel is lovely, we had rooms at the front do had Mountain views. Staff really nice We did feel ignorant due to our extremely limited Spanish and we are going to try to learn Spanish before returning next year The location of the hotel is perfect for the football stadium and has several bars and cafes nearby
Comfortable hotel and friendly/helpful staff. The rooms are spacious and clean but we found it a little too warm. The hotel could do with an update as the decor is a bit outdated. Some very good places to eat near-by. Great to have a swimming pool/sauna available. Not close to the center but easy to get to with buses or a 20/25min walk.
The location is excellent for someone going to the Fernández Vega Eye Clinic nearby. It's not as convenient for visiting downtown, but it's still walkable. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff very attentive, especially housekeeping who went over and above to make our stay as comfortable as possible. On the first survey we received we suggested it would be nice to have a kettle in the room and not two hours had gone by when we had the kettle in our room! We were very impressed. An extra pillow? No trouble, it arrived immediately. The restaurant has good food. The cafeteria has snacks. The breakfast is excellent. There is a good variety of breads, yoghourts, cheeses, cold cuts, cereals, jams, juices, fresh fruit, a healthy corner and a hot dish. The only weak point is the coffee machine which can never make coffee as good as you get in a coffee shop. Still, everything else makes up for that shortfall. All in all, I would highly recommend the Silken Monumental Naranco hotel, in Oviedo.
