This may have been the best walking excursion we have ever had. It lasted just over the advertised 4 hours and it was spectacular. Very much worth the price of the tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable about Oslo, its history, and the ins and outs of that beautiful city. It was right before the funeral of the King and our guide took us to all aspects of this important national and cultural event. If we are ever back in Oslo again we would do this excursion again, but only with her. She was a lawyer from Poland who now lives in Oslo and she loves her adopted country and it came through in our spectacular tour.

Extraordinary guide (Minji) Minji is a great guide. Knowledgeable Empathetic Sharing Shares what is important
Our guide Minji was excellant. The information and history of Oslo was interesting and the pace was easy going. We had the waffle she recommended and it was fantastic! We would definitely recommend Minji and this 3 hour tour.
Minji was wonderful. She had a lot of interesting information. She showed us things we would not have seen on our own, and certainly would not have had background on. We highly recommend her.
We had limited time in Oslo, and our private walking tour was the perfect way to see the city and learn more about its history. Our tour guide, Sigrid, was excellent and tailored the tour to our interests. She offered a wealth of information and we learned a lot. Sigrid also provided valuable advice about what else to see while in Oslo and even guided one of our group members back to our hotel on public transit.
We wanted to love this tour, and our guide was incredibly nice, but the experience fell short of our expectations. The tour lacked a clear, engaging route with the steady stream of facts and commentary we've typically enjoyed on similar city tours. Our guide was very quiet and struggled a bit with English fluency, which made it hard to hear and stay engaged. There were also several instances where historical details were conflicting or unclear. The guide has great potential because of their warm personality, but the tour definitely needs a bit more structural preparation and factual polishing.
Anastasia was a fantastic guide. Meeting up at our hotel was very easy and timely. She was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Our three and half hours was at a perfect pace, visiting the major points of interest around the city center. She shared enjoyable nuggets of information along the way.
This was an outstanding personalized tour of Oslo. We were met right at our cruise ship by Anastasia, and for the next 3 hours, we enjoyed a leisurely, deeply informative walk through the city and its sites. Anastasia possessed a keen knowledge of Norway's history, as well as the cultural influences of its neighbors. Moreover, we thoroughly enjoyed her insight and candor into daily life in response to our many questions. She truly made the tour exceptional. Our highest recommendation
We arrived by cruise ship. Mireia, our guide, met us at our ship, an easy link up. She is a licensed tour guide with the city and was very knowledgeable of the city and the country of Norway. Our primary interests are history and culture, and we buried her with questions (something you can never do in group tours). She answered them all. The walking tour covered about 3 miles. She covered the fort, the old town, the city and national government buildings, and the Royal palace. She was very flexible--several times she gave us options of what to see and adjusted her tour accordingly. If you are looking to get a personalized tour of Oslo, this is the one.
Emilie was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, and patient in answering our many questions. Would highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Sigrid was excellent. She did a great job of providing a history of Oslo. I would suggest her.
Very nice tour covered all major landmarks
Knowledgeable, personable guide! But, if winter, be ready for the cold. Would love to do it again, but next time, in the summer.
I appreciate that Tatiana set mild pace while we explored Oslo. While touring we like to learn about the culture of the city we are visiting. Our guide did a great job of sharing history and culture.
Eight adults had a wonderful three hour walking tour of Oslo with Anastasia. She provided much information about the history and current culture in Oslo and Norway. The pace was good and three hours was perfect to explore the city. Her recommendations of things to do and places to go were spot on to our interests. We highly recommend Nordiva Tours and Anastasia.
Fantastic walking tour with Emily. Very knowledgeable & she brought the city to life with her description & history of the buildings. She was wonderful. Had a great tour.
Guide did not show up. No signs anywhere. Guide claimed to have called me 10 times, no one call is on my call log
Great understanding of Oslo from many different aspects. Even tho the Oslo marathon was underway, we still saw all this sights.
Sigrid was very pleasant, knowledgeable, punctual, & willing to take the time to answer all our questions. We would highly recommend her to other travelers!
The walking tour was excellent. Lots of history and information about Oslo and Norway was given. The walking was easy enough without many hills or stairs. Our guide Olav was funny and entertaining while also being very knowledgeable. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Excellent tour! Oliver was extremely well informed and approachable. Not only did we see all the main sites but learnt about Norwegian politics, health service, penal system and economy. Fascinating insights into a delightful society and city. Thank you very much indeed! Highly recommended.
This is a terrific tour of central Oslo. Minji was knowledgeable and passionate about her chosen city. The pacing was easy, and she even worked in a rest/snack stop as well! She provided wonderful tips and ideas regarding other areas and experiences around Oslo for us to continue to explore after we parted company.
We had a lovey guide who walked us around the city center sharing the history of the buildings and people. We went inside several places . She was very knowledgeable and friendly.
My family and I really enjoyed our tour with Daniel. He is a very interesting and personable guide, with lots of interesting stories and information. It really was a wonderful way to learn about the city and the country. Thanks, Daniel!
Our guide, Angela, was excellent. We walked about 5 miles so it was a nice workout. The sites seen were great
Oliver was a great guide! We had a fabulous tour that we were able to customize. Highly recommend booking.
Maria is a wonderful guide. She is very knowledgeable and personable. Her presentation was relaxed and informal but she taught us much about Oslo and the history. It was nicely paced and very enjoyable.
Our guide, Sheila, was extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun. It was a great way to experience the city on our first day in Oslo
Our tour was at 10am on July 19th. Our guide was sitting at our hotel and I must have passed her 5/6 times going in and out of our hotel. One of my daughters heard her mention my last name which is how we eventually met with her. This was the only downside of our experience though. Sigrid was outstanding. She took us up the old fortress and explained how the nazis came in and took over Norway 🇳🇴. She took us to a spot where about 14 Norwegian soldiers were executed. We were as bout to buy water but sigrid mentioned to go inside a building which we did and the water was outstanding. One of my daughters said that sigrid didn’t want us wasting money on destroying the planet and I think she was correct. We spoke about Norwegian chocolade and she took us in to the freia store which was interesting. She took us into the library and explained about the opera house and also the parliament. We also went into an awesome park near the kings castle which was so interesting. I wish my son was able to join us as sigrid was an outstanding tour guide despite it being such a hot day. Afterwards, both of my daughters wished I had invited her to lunch as we thoroughly enjoyed her company. Her tour was fantastic!
Remember to Wear Comfortable shoes. Bring water. Our guide Minji was amazing. We had a terrific time.
Olav gave an excellent tour! He has tons of information, interesting insights, and is so funny! We had a great time!
Our walking tour guide, Olaf, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the city of Oslo, including the history of the city, which contributed to a great tour experience.
We had a great walking tour with Minji! She was very knowledgeable and made our tour very comfortable! She met us on time at the cruise boat.
Our guide Marija was wonderful. We learned so much about the history of Oslo. It was very hot and she guided us at our own pace. Marija also gave us many more suggestions on what else to see in Oslo. An informative and enjoyable tour.
She was very informative and nice! We had a nice long walk in the city and she showed us everything. 10/10
Something happened with the reservation and no guide showed up. When I called the local tour office they said the tour had been cancelled and I was sent a e-mail which was never received. Odd because I kept getting messages from Trip Advisor about payment and tickets which I downloaded several weeks ago. I called the provided office phone of the local tour service. The woman who answered was very apologetic and very helpful. She found us an English speaking guide, Olav, who was terrific! Not sure who dropped the ball but in the future I will book directly with the company that runs the tour. My five star review is for the local company and especially for the guide. Sorry Trip Advisor, while you reviews are usually helpful your booking service was not. No stars. WJB
With her upbeat attitude, Maria blended history, culture, food and funny stories to bring Oslo alive for us. We had a wonderful tour and can't recommend it enough.
Absolutely not recommended. Booked because of the great reviews. The private tour covered the bare basics, but the guide was not a local and didn’t offer much beyond surface-level facts. 70% silence as we walk. She might as well be standing at a concierge desk. I was standing next to another small group - the guide was energetically sharing history. I kept prompting her at the beginning to give more background, then I gave up. I resorted to taking photo of the place and getting more information on the internet. We were hoping for more storytelling and enthusiasm to bring Oslo to life. Could be a great tour with more engagement. I’m just left extremely frustrated.
Maria met us at our hotel in Oslo City Center. She had good information to share regarding the history of the city and Norway in general. The tour was a good overview of the city center. We had our tour on a Sunday in July and there was not a lot going on.
Very informative! Excellent introduction to the Norwegian culture and history. Very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable guide.
A really good tour which helped to orientate us on the layout of Oslo but also Ragnhild, who was fabulous, gave us a great insight into the history of Oslo. It's a private tour, so it was just the four of us, lasted 3hrs and started at our hotel. Amongst other sights we visited the City Hall (the inside is excellent), Akershus Castle & Fortress, National Theatre as well as the Aker Brygge where there are numerous shops / restaurants. For some reason we didn't visit the Royal Palace and if I could be a little critical the tour didn't need 3 hours as we seemed to be wasting time in the final 30mins - it wasn't helped in that the city was very busy as it was Pride weekend. The cost was £215 for the four us - I would recommend the tour but feel you codlin see the main sights in 2hrs - 2.5hrs.
A wonderful cultural journey on foot through Oslo with the delightful snd highly knowlegeanle Siegrid. The pace of the tour was perfect snd adapted to my interests. Highly recommended
Maria was the best! She was extremely knowledgeable, gave us great information about the buildings, the culture, the history of Oslo. We highly recommend her for any tour she is doing!
Very knowledgeable guide with an excellent command of the English language. A Very easy walking tour.
Our tour guide, Judit, took us on a wonderful 3hr walking tour. She was very knowledgeable of the history, buildings and the people of Oslo. She kept her speed to ours as we had a few in our group that walk a bit slower. We did a big circle of the city hitting all the highlights. She also gave us food and museum recommendations. I would definitely do another tour with Judit. Beware of the bicyclists, they are crazy.
Oliver was a great guide and host! He was very knowledgeable and made our walking tour come alive with both history and contemporary aspects. Highly recommend doing this if your time in Oslo is limited.
Great walking tour of the city of Oslo. Maria was a wonderful guide. We saw the old and new sides of the city, heard the history of th city, and stopped at a bakery for a local treat.
Very comprehensive walking tour of the center of Oslo. Our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly, and she had many interesting stories about the sites we visited. The tour was mostly history focused, some art, some culture, which suited our interests quite well!
Maria is a fabulous tour guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. We high recommend this tour and Maria as your guide.
Emelie was a friendly, knowledgable, accommodating guide. The tour was informative and interesting. Oslo is a beautiful city.
