Could not have imagined a better way to know about the city. I had booked a 4-hour private tour with City Unscripted. The booking process was seamless. Neil- my guide for the tour- was energetic and highly informative. He did not just show around, but narrated stories, legends and the history in an absolutely entertaining fashion! Highly recommended.

This isn’t just a tour; it’s a personalized experience shaped around your interests. Before your walk, your host will reach out with a short online Personalization Form to co-create your ideal day. From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, every stop is chosen just for you.
Begin your day surrounded by expressive sculptures in this lush, tree-lined park, home to over 200 works by Gustav Vigeland. Your host may guide you from here down Karl Johans gate, Oslo’s main boulevard, lined with cozy cafés and capped by the stately Royal Palace.
Tucked away and delightfully eccentric, this gallery showcases one of the world’s most curious collections—a local favorite few travelers know about.
Pass by the Neoclassical palace, and if your timing is right, witness the ceremonial changing of the guard at 13:30—an Oslo tradition.
Wander into this lesser-known street filled with pastel-hued buildings, quirky boutiques, and inviting coffee spots. Your host may point out a favorite local hangout to explore later.
Skirt the edges of this medieval stronghold and follow your host toward Oslo’s harbor—where modern design meets historical intrigue.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Marianne! Despite the rainy day, we covered a lot of ground and felt like we got a great glimpse of the Norway sights and culture. We especially appreciated the private aspect with our group of six. Highly recommend this tour!
So enjoyed the tour. Neil was fabulous! So knowledgeable and informative, adding so many interesting and entertaining anecdote’s. He went above and beyond to accolade our group. Highly recommend!!
Great tour with Sheena. She knew a lot of history and pace was perfect for us. She also gave good recommendations for dinner and made herself available to us during our stay in Oslo.
marianne was very chill. she was very knowledgeable & professional she knew her history
Sheena was a fun and knowledgeable guide. We walked to all highlights of the city and she gave me fun and interesting facts about each one. Oslo is a lovely and walkable city and Sheena really makes it shine. Thank you Sheena for sharing this beautiful city with me.
Neil was very knowledgeable and personable. We covered the very most important and interesting parts of Oslo. We were completely satisfied and would highly recommend this tour with Neil!
Husband and I had a day long layover in Oslo and this tour made the most of our time for sure, Marianne was great and tailored the tour to our interests, highly recommend!
Not very good. We spent most of the time at the public library, which was generally uninteresting. At the end of our 2hr tour, our guide bade us farewell and pointed us in the direction of the palace, which we went to on our own. The guide also did not have a deep knowledge of Oslo or Norway. A forgettable experience.
This tour was a great way to see the highlights of Oslo and allow us to circle back to places of interest. Sheena has only been there six years, but has clearly worked hard to learn the history, culture and architectural treasures of Oslo.
We had a wonderful tour of the city of Oslo given by Sheenam. She was very personable & informative. She showed us the city highlights & allowed for questions & picture taking. She gave us info & directions on how to see other attractions after our tour. It was a beautiful day with a very pleasant tour guide. I highly recommend Sheenam for your next tour to Oslo.
Marianne was great, she reached out weeks beforehand to see what our interests were. Then gave us an extremely informed and interesting tour of the main city highlights. If you want a good two hours in Oslo, this is for you.
Marianne was our guide in Oslo. She was very knowledgeable in Norwegian and Oslo history. We felt at home during our visit with her in Oslo. We loved the city train ride, walk through the city and the Royal Garden.
Excellent match with our desires and interests. Our guide took the time to understand our knowledge and prior experience.
We took the 3 hour tour with Neil! It was excellent. He gave a great overview of the history, architecture and culture of the city and a fun am entertaining manner. Highly recommend!!
Marianne was great. Met us at our hotel and tailored the tour to our interests. Just the right amount of history, political and some pictures for social media. She also kept the pace slow enough for us 60 year olds. Great job.
Wonderful, informative… we did a fairly short stroll around Oslo with lots of information. Sheena did a wonderful job of making the tour interesting for us. We loved the library, art and stories about life in Norway. She clearly loves Her country and made us love it too.
Marianne was our guide for a three-hour walking tour of Oslo, and she went above and beyond in providing an unforgettable experience. Marianne has an engaging personality that will keep you interested throughout, and (being an Oslo native) she is able to navigate across the city with amazing efficiency. I wanted to see any sites that dealt with Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, and Marianne came through with a couple of great stops. She knows Oslo as only a native can, and she passed her knowledge along to us. We are delighted to give Marianne our very highest recommendation!
Excellent tour. Sheena our guide was superb. Lots of communication before the tour meant she knew exact what we wanted to do and she. 100% felivered
Neil Howard was an excellent guide. Perfect English. Historical knowledge was amazing. Gave great tips for dining and drinks for after the tour.
The host had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. He really did focus on our areas of interest.
Sheenam was an awesome tour guide! The tour exceeded our expectations about learning about Oslo. Sheenam did an excellent job showing us around the city and telling us interesting stories and facts about the culture and history of Oslo. We very much enjoyed the tour!
This tour did not take place as the tour company could not secure a tour guide.
We enjoy walking tours with local guides who take us where we would normally not go. Our host Sheenan did just that with some sights of Oslo, both old and new, as city appears to be going through an exciting urban renewal.
It was a great tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the tour
Neil was fantastic! It was raining on our tour day, but it didn't stop Neil from having a very bright outlook and positive energy for our tour. We saw many highlights of the downtown area on our tour, and he was a wealth of knowledge. He focused on our interests and was very personable. We have some accessibility issues, and Neil easily accommodated. We were traveling on a holiday, and Neil came prepared with a list of attractions/museums/etc. which were open on the holiday. I would highly recommend him!
Neil was a fabulous host and made our trip very enjoyable with his knowledge, wit and entertainment would highly recommend
Overall, we really enjoyed this tour. It was well organised and the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The places we visited were interesting and well chosen. At times, we needed to ask questions, as the descriptions of some locations weren’t very detailed. When we did ask, the guide was happy to explain and share more information, which we appreciated. A very enjoyable experience overall and one we’d recommend, with a little more commentary making it even better. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
We only had one night in Oslo and booked this experience to get a taste of the city. Mary was fantastic, warm, welcoming, and shared so much about the city. It definitely left us wanting to come back in the future! Would recommend to anyone.
We visited Oslo on a day trip from Stockholm. Our time was limited and the 2 hr tour was worth it! Our guide Sheenam was amazing and really helped us understand the history and details of the city.
We had an excellent tour with Sheenam on October 1st. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and took great pains to explain the history of the city, the significance of various buildings and places, and even introduced us to some delicious local food. I would rate our tour as "Excellent" and wish Sheenam all the very best for the future.
We had a wonderful time touring the city of Oslo. So much beautiful architecture and history. So glad we had the individual guide to share details on each monument and museum.
It was a nice solo tour with Sheenam. She knows every history and was very patient with all my questions.
Sheenam was our walking tour guide. She was a good communicator before the tour, prompt to meet us, and gave interesting history and facts about Oslo and its art and architecture. She also very kindly offered ideas for shopping and dining, and was super hospitality focused on helping us make the most of our short trip. Highly recommend this generous overview of Oslo city center sights!
A very nice overview of Oslo! We visited many of the hot spots and a few off the beaten path and learned a lot along the way. Sheenam was very knowledgeable and took the time to share with us what life in Oslo is like. We also loved that she is a wonderful photographer.
Sheanam was on time, well prepared, and very enthusiastic. You could tell she had researched the sites we visited. She was very helpful on shopping tips from souvenirs to curling irons. She even exceeded the tour time because we had so many questions and we visited so many things.
Our guide Sheeman was very knowledgeable and shared a wonderful blend of Oslo highlights and local culture (the library near the Opera House was an unexpected but amazing place to see). It was a perfect first day in this lovely city.
Sheenam, our guide for this tour, helped us understand how Oslo has developed into the vibrant city it is today. We walked all over the city, visiting the most important and popular sites, sampled some street food, and saw the changing of the guard. It was a magical tour-Sheenam thank you so much !!!
Neil was the best tour guide we ever had. He made the tour so interesting and so fun, full of fun fact and laughs. 100% recommended
Marianne, our guide is excellent. She is friendly and knowledgeable. We have walking difficulty and our pace is slow. She skillfully modified our itinerary but covered all the important and interesting places.
Excellent. Very flexible with what I wanted to do and see. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Would hire her again
I had the pleasure of touring Oslo with Sheenam, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide! From the moment we met, she made me feel comfortable, even though I was a little nervous about navigating a new city on my own. She was patient, kind, and incredibly helpful, making sure I never felt rushed while still covering an impressive number of sights. In just four hours, Sheenam guided me through Oslo’s highlights, including the Central Station, Deichman Library, Opera House, Munch Museum, She Lies floating sculpture, Bjørvika waterfront, and Vigeland Sculpture Park. Along the way, she shared fascinating insights that deepened my appreciation of each place. She also made sure I experienced local flavors—moose hotdogs and burgers, creamy fish soup, and Ringnes beer—all of which I loved! Even better, she gave me clear directions for landmarks we didn’t have time to visit, like the Royal Palace, Stortinget, and Oslo Cathedral. What impressed me most was how approachable and attentive she was. As someone who’s directionally challenged, I could have easily felt overwhelmed, but with her guidance everything was seamless and stress-free. She balanced being informative with giving me space to simply enjoy the city. She even went above and beyond—giving me detailed instructions for navigating Oslo’s public transport, and personally taking me to a burger spot a bit out of the way so I wouldn’t miss the moose burger I’d been hoping to try. If you’re visiting Oslo, I can’t recommend Sheenam enough. She’s knowledgeable, thoughtful, and considerate—and she makes the whole experience feel like exploring the city with a friend. I left with wonderful memories of Oslo, and that’s largely thanks to her!
Neil was a wonderful guide who used his acting skills to enhance our experience. He shared much history with added stories and especially shared his opinions on various architecture and art works. He made multiple suggestions for our remaining time in Oslo.
Mary was wonderful to connect with prior to our tour. She stayed in touch with us and was very informative about the area we explored
Very nice tour of the city. Informative as well. A great way to start your trip. Highly recommended.
Sheenam was one of the kindest and friendliest people I’ve ever met. She knows all the landmarks in the city well, and she took a beautiful picture of me. By the end of the trip, we had become good friends. I highly recommend her! Hope to see you again soon.
A lot of walking, but that was our choice. Marie reached out and asked what our goals were before the tour and even during the tour gave us options of next steps and choices. We saw the opera house, the palace, the main square and the fortress. A lot of history and knowledge.
Neil gave us a nice overview of Oslo in the short time we had available. We asked for a focus on history, and he delivered! He also took the time to help us figure out the transit system. A terrific experience.
Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. She knew the history and cultural highlights. She answered every question.
The process of asking us in advance what we hoped to get out of the tour was a good idea. The tour covered off the things we hope to see in Oslo at a fairly casual pace. It was a good way to learn about Oslo and get our bearings.
