Good tour for people who only have one day in Oslo. Entire loop takes one hour. Can hop off at each stop, select stops, or not at all. Only issue was that some ear pieces didn’t work at all seats.

NEVER BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.. they offer little services and then when you have to purchase from another company, and you have proof of that purchase, they refuse to refund.
Bus dirty, sound track scratchy and inaudible, multiple seat earplug sockets broken, windows dirty, driver grumpy. Other bus companies arrived twice as frequently. There are much better bus tour options than this one.
Be careful booking a 24 hour hop on hop off with only 2 hours left. We booked it on the cruise same day .Got off the ship by 2:30 pm on by 3pm when we got off, they said, be back by five p m. That's the last bus , hop on hop off ended at 5pm did not even do a whole loop and they will not refund our money.
The worst hop-on hop-off bus ever. The commentary didn’t work for the first stop. When we got to stop 3, the driver let us off only to find out the folk museum was closed on mondays. It catered primarily for people who cruise because we did laps of the cruise terminal. The commentary was very poorly timed - we went through a tunnel just as the guide was starting to say something interesting. The noise in the tunnel was so loud we heard virtually nothing.
Such a bad experience… no comments just static to first stop. Waited for a long time. Got on and we were really looking forward to the Norwegian folk museum and got dropped there by the driver… we got off and walked 50 meters to find its closed on Mondays. I really don’t know what I have to say about this…. Anyway we walked about 2km to next stop. Please can you get in touch about a refund. adamnjacks@gmail.com
Good tour of the city. It was nice there was a stop right at the cruise terminal As there were 7 of us we were able to get a paper copy of our tickets right there.
Great way to see Oslo. Audio worked off and on initially but eventually connected. First running 10 mins late but overall great activity.
There were 4 American professional adults in our group. It took us forever to figure out the WiFi and/or the plug-in ear pieces. Terrible poorly working audio. When we could hear them, they were at different stops than we were. They were describing different things!!! We had one day in Oslo and wasted this money on a really slow and crowded taxi. No guides at all. Suggestion for the owner operator, you should dump the pre-recorded messages and the Wi-Fi and just go back to Live guides like the big red bus company does.
Never again. Two out of four drivers were rude. I paid for 48 hour tickets and was only given 24 hour tickets. But after one day I didn't want to ride with them again. We were left at one stop and had to wait for the next coach. Cruise stops were long while all others were short. I will use Greyline Hop On Hop Off in the future.
Commentary seemed to omit some key places. We didn’t realise the bus was not electric and a very glad to hear you are moving to “green” buses. Some background music would help so you know your earphones are working. When we went past the church the recorded bells made it difficult to hear the commentary.
The monologue was difficult to hear and understand. Would be nice if your stops were marked with a number on the signs at each bus stop. Bus drivers never greeted anyone.
I don't know if there just isn't much to see in Oslo or if the tour was just lacking but it was really boring and I don't feel like I learned much. There was a lot of silence and gaps in the commentary. It wouldn't be hard to find something interesting to say I'm sure!
Convenient for transportation bc taxis and uber are expensive. Only a few minutes wait at the stop even if you just missed a bus.
Audio didn’t work and no announcements or information was given during ride, not even the stop number or attraction was announced as the bus stopped. Also, we were on the stairs going up to the top and the bus started making it treacherous to get to a seat. Very poor experience.
Easy to do from Holland America cruise dock in Oslo AND less expensive, especially on a rainy day! We did the HOHO bus on Day one of our stop here to get an overview.
Bus was clean and head sets supplied and worked. Easy pick up and drop off. Covered a large area in a 1.5 hours for the complete loop
Terrible Experience & Terrible company! Booked tickets online on a rainy day in Oslo last week and never received the online tickets until 2 hours later when I complained. They had no human representatives around to help us out in this confusing situation. Then 2 hours later, when I asked for a refund they sent the tickets! When pointed this out to them, they told me in a that they have a no refund policy. The two tickets totaled $108.76 USD - not much money to a worldwide company vs an individual who did nothing wrong in these circumstances. This Company is a Scam and I would not use them as they do not provide a professional service!
We bought tickets from bus company desk at cruise ship terminal. Paid 1000 NKr for mother and daughter. No commentary for first half of tour as plug-in site did not work. Bus crowded so could not move to another seat. Commentary did not synchronize with where we were, no commentary as we passed Palace and other points of interest.. complained to driver and attendant at end of tour but no apology or note taken regards faulty equipment. This company is fraudulent in its practice and I will not use again
Did not stop at some places we would have liked.
Picked us up right at cruise port. There are 2 different HOHO bus companies, so had to be sure of right bus. It was a Sunday and stop #1 was not where it was supposed to be. We had walked to where we thought it should be but not there. We never did find it, so at last call, we found the other company bus and bought a ticket for it so we could get back to the cruise ship.
Don't bother...poor audio guides and drivers are rude and worthless. We planned to use it for two days and gave up and only used it for 6 hours. We have used hop on/hop off in other towns and enjoyed our experience. Oslo? Not a bit of fun.
Very nice. Amy , our guide was pleasant, informative and accommodating. Easy walking conditions! Definitely recommend!
We have used hop on-hop off buses at several cities and they do help get you to more points of interest in less time. My only complaint is that they stop running too soon. It would be better if they ran later and more often rather than have 3 different bus lines running similarly operations. One thing to note about Oslo is that it is very walkable and not that large so if you are there more than 1 or 2 days, then you probably won’t need this service.
Absolutely no information from the audio “guide”, most of the time just about announcing stops. No history, no architecture description. No interesting facts, total waste of time that can be used to tell tourists a lot about the country and the city.
Good overview of Oslo. Stops near the port when cruise ships are in which was very handy and stops were close to attractions
Disorganized - stopped at some stops for 10 minutes whist trying to g to get people on and off Dirty bus - tired and can’t see through old plastic which has discolored and is no longer transparent Commentary non comprehensive as it is AI
Awful. Expensive. 2 stops at cruise liners. Waited at opera house for bus which arrived only 5 minutes later but we were denied entry and had to wait for next bus which took ages. Don’t waste your money or your time. Go by Uber or Bolt
Great route with all you want to see within steps of each designated bus stop. Super friendly drivers and always on time.
Beware! This company is not the only one that uses "Hop on Hop Off" bus. We got on the bus at stop 12; we got off at stop 2 at the museums. When we tried to get back on the bus to continue the bus tour, the driver said you have a different company ticket and would not let us on the bus. It's the same bus, not my problem it was a different company. Apparantly more than one bus of the exact same paint scheme. Well the viator version ends at 4pm, so there was no more buses.
A good way to see some of Oslo’s attractions. I bought a two-day ticket, but didn’t use it the second day. A few more stops in the city would have been better, including one by the City Hall/Nobel Peace Centre, and one near the Cathedral. Four stops by the cruise terminals is good for cruise passengers, but not for other tourists.
Easy to find start point. Downhill from there. Narration was off more than it was on. Could not see any of the sites we drove past-no stops for photos. BIGGEST waste of money and time. Have done HOHO trips in many cities across the globe and this was the worst ever. Very poor orientation to a big city.
Easy and smooth ride around Oslo. Do be mindful of the time as service ends 4pm and museums parks can take awhile. Audio worked well. Many language options.
Whilst the actual boat trip was okay, it was extremely stressful trying to locate the actual boat to go on. There were numerous queues for many different boats and all of the people who had bought tickets online were totally confused. In the end we all entered different queues and when one of our group found they were in the right one he let us know. Even then we only just boarded on time, having been in the general meeting area highlighted our ticket for the previous 45 minutes.
You can always get off if the driver is not to your liking. Stops are VERY short be ready and fast. They don’t slow down for any reason.
I went with a friend on a Fjords cruise that had to divert to Oslo due to adverse weather. We arrived in Oslo on Bank Holiday Monday and everything was closed, so we decided to go on the Hop-on Bus. We were asked by the salesman if we were together and we said yes, but we wanted to pay separately. He said ok and asked my friend to tap her card and gave her a ticket. He then turned to me and asked me to do the same. I had a travel money card but it wouldn't work, so I had to use my bank account. As we moved away I looked at my ticket and realised, my travel card wouldn't work because he had charged both of us 1000kr - double the ticket price. He apologised and said he had made a mistake but didn't know how to refund us. He had to make a phone call and we were told it would all be sorted and we would be refunded before we returned home. That didn't happen. I emailed them and they asked me to fill in a claim form and photo of the ticket, which I did. They confirmed receipt and said refund would be within 15 days. I emailed them again - no reply. I decided to re-send the claim form and ticket. Again I was told 15 days but still no refund. I finally sent a fourth email last week, and I am still waiting for a refund and a courtesy reply. I have told them that what they have done, having been told 4 times they owe me the money, is theft, but they clearly do not care. Norway is one of the most expensive places. They charged me £86 for what was supposed to be a one and a half hour trip. It didn't last that long and all the headphones on the bus didn't work, so an absolute waste of time. In desperation, I thought I would ring Hop-on in London to see if they could help. Their website says call us, we are ready to take your call. No they aren't. They will only take your call if you are booking a trip!! I was told I couldn't speak to customer services, and that I needed to email them. When I explained why I wanted to speak to someone, they just reiterated that they wouldn't speak to me, all I could do was email. What a farce. Over two months down the line and I have had nothing back. This company is an total disgrace. Catch a local bus and give these a miss!
My mom enjoys these busses when we travel to a new city. This one has only one route and a quarter of the stops are the cruise ship docks. Most of these busses typically have very interesting commentary but this one had a lot of dead air. The voice is a man's who apologized for their pronunciation because he is still learning English as it is powered by AI. What happened to the real people who recorded info? It's way better than whatever this was. The bus stops are also not marked like in other big cities. We just rode it around once and did not hop on/off.
It starts and finish at the cruise port in Oslo. It's a wonderful way of getting around the city and seeing the attractions. The audio was just so-so. But overall, we would do it again. Always ENJOY these bus tours!!
We were unable to take this tour for a couple of reasons: we were never able to download a map to determine the best place to find the bus. After walking around the entire Oslo station we found a hop on hop off bus station, only to find out it was the competition with the same name! By this time it was too late for us and we had to head back to the airport to catch our flight. We tried to ask for a refund but were declined. They were Not very organized and didn’t ever acknowledge that there are two companies running hop on hop off bus tours. We were not able to download a map to find our way. Disappointing!!!
After selling us our 2 tickets for $105 US in front fo the bus. He then told us that wasn’t the bus we would take. This was for display at cruise ship terminal. Our bus was 30 minutes away. The stops are poorly marked and the bus was jam packed. We ended up not being able to find the next stop (after hopping off) So one little segment for $105 and ended up taking a $50 Uber back to the ship. What a waste of money.
Joined first bus of the day from Stop 1 at 10:00, realising last bus departing 16:00 so short period to make use of the HOHO feature to visit three of the main attractions alo g the route. Pick up times reasonably accurate, but was a Sunday with light traffic! Audio and commentary poor and not a particularly exciting route, involving long tunnel and around the cruise ship docks. Not the best value for money.
Our experience with this company was excellent. They consistently strive to be punctual and provide high-quality service. Their staff is always very friendly, and we would like to specifically commend Aldofo. We greatly appreciated his assistance when we had questions; he was readily available to help us immediately. We were in Oslo, Norway when we first encountered Aldofo, one staff in that city. He helped as soon we had questions about how to get to our hotel. He educated us on how the Hop-on-Hop-off bus works and gave us practical tips on how to use the system. We are very grateful for the use of the Hop-on-Hop-off bus service for our city tours. It makes navigating the city much easier, especially when visiting various attractions. Your service is truly helpful in getting us to these places. Thank you very much for your services.
Whilst giving a quick overview of the city if Oslo with some historical facts, the bys stops were not at all well signposted.
We like to use these HO-HO tours to get the lie of the land in a new town, so we can decide where we might want to return to. This was as good as any. My only small complaint would be the headphones. I couldn’t work out if there was just a poor connection or gaps on the commentary, but that didn’t detract from the enjoyment.
Couldn’t find the bus stop. Walked walked and walked. No direction. Bus stop should be tracked the google map. Refund my amount.
The Bus driver did not wait for passenger to be seated. He took off aggressively when we were on the stairs to the upper deck. It was a frightening experience. The sound track in our seat was only partially working, so we shared our headphones. It was often out of sync and sometimes ended abruptly. I would not recommend this company if you have other options. I will report the drive to the company with details of our experience.
Good service. Accessible stop points. Cons: work time are limited till 4 pm. Pros: main points of the city are discoverebale
Stops are very near all must-see sights. We saw everything we planned to see, and it was not crowded on the day we toured. Although we chose to sit in the enclosed bottom level, there was open-air seating on the top level.
It was nice with the 48 hour pass. It allowed us to go back to each interesting site and get off. However, on stop 4 we waited almost an hour because one bus came early and we missed it and the other one was a little later. That was irritating because we left the exhibits early to meet the bus.
Decided to do Hop On Hop Off via cruise ship. We stood in line in the rain for 1.5 hrs before they could board us on an available bus. Once on the bus the plug in audio did not work for bus # 24, downstairs for several rows. I complained about it, they knew the issue and told me to use another bus or use my cell phone to listen. Her we are 2:45 on a new bus, have not seen a thing in Oslo yet. And the Hop On Hop Off winds down at 4:00 pm. I would not recommend. Go with the yellow competition. They run cheaper and empty bases. Shame on you Princess Cruises for recommending them.
