Perfect experience. The guides were hilarious, the food and drink was delicious, and we were even provided wool blankets for the cold wet weather. Absolutely lovely tour.

Itinerary
Oslo is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord (Oslofjorden in Norwegian) and is surrounded by forested hills. It’s a stunning city, and the best way to appreciate its beauty is on a relaxing sightseeing cruise. On this two-hour tour, discover the scenery from a sightseeing boat. You’ll sail past numerous islands, including Hovedøya and the Dyna Lighthouse, through narrow inlets and into sheltered bays so that you can capture the capital on camera from different angles. We will pass the Opera House in Oslo, housing The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet ensemble. The spot has been named Kirsten Flagstads place 1 after the opera's first director Kirsten Flagstad place 1 after the opera's first director Kirsten Flagstad. It was designed by the architectural firm Snøhetta AS, which won an architectural competition in 2000. A choice of seven departure times gives you excellent flexibility and allows you to easily fit this tour into your Oslo vacation. During winter season: A day at the Bygdøy Museums and Oslo Fjord Sightseeing: First join the 2 hour Fjord Sightseeing leaving 10.30, then we make a stop at 12:20 on Bygdøynes letting passengers off for a 2.5 hours visit to museums, at 14:50 we depart from Bygdøynes arriving 15:00 at City Hall. *1530 departure is only done when its daylight. During nov, des, jan and feb the sun sets earlier.

Lovely hostess Super sights Good deal Good idea to get off at fram museum
Fun couple of hours with entertaining commentary. Easy tour.
- Staff are friendly and really helpful. Agreed for me to move my booking to another day. - The boat is great with a bar onboard (that wasn't awfully priced) - My trip was relatively empty compared to the capacity. If the boat is full I suspect it could be quite a tight squeeze and force you to become friendly with those sharing a bench with you as it's 1 bench to 2 tables.
The trip was really well ran, all the staff made you feel very welcome. There was lots of seating and blankets and cushioned provided for the trip. You can get of when it stops at the fram museum and get the afternoon ferry back which was really great to do.The weather was lovely which added to the experience and the information provided on the tour was really interesting. Great value highly recommend.
A great trip to see the Fjords. Despite the wet and windy weather we really enjoyed the experience- heaters, throws and comfy rugs made the trip comfortable. Our guide was very informative and we would definitely recommend
It was pretty chilly but they did have heaters, blankets, and tarps over the top so it was very comfortable. The biggest disappointment was that we just went in circles and just saw the beginning of the fjords, the same view as on shore.
Very nice, informative, and fun! If you’re going during the fall do make sure to bring a jacket and hat as it gets brisk out on the water! Would definitely do again.
We had a wonderful time - the boat is beautiful, the journey was peaceful, and the fjord was stunning!
This was well worth the price! Loved the relaxing tour of the Fjords around Oslo. The audio guide was fantastic and easy to listen while enjoying the views. I would highly recommend and would be happy to do similar experiences in other cities.
Great experience, great sights.
Awesome little trip around the Oslofjord. Very enjoyable, a nice bar on board and most importantly, the scenery was magical. I would recommend this to Oslo visitors.
Absolutely fantastic. Would recommend to anybody as this was a highlight of our trip. Excellent commentary, excellent staff, and would very much recommend the aperol spritz!
Beautiful boat for a beautiful tour around the Oslo Fjord. The staff on this tour were very hospitable and made the journey even better! The only reason I rated it 4/5 is because recorded audio tours are not engaging in my opinion.
Absolutely incredible trip. Perfect size joat that gives you a real close feel and view of the surrounding culture and environment. Able to see the real beauty of the country side
It was lovely to get out on the water! Food and drinks were good, we shared a bottle of wine and had the goulash soup. Was a little chilly but they provided wool blankets for everybody and that really helped! Friendly crew and very informative. Was a great 2 hours to see some of the highlights of Oslo and still relax!
Beautiful scenery, if traveling in shoulder season pack layers. Great way to see the fjord and Oslo.
Prepare for rain and it dies get chilly. Great boat and informative trip. Beautiful views of the Fjord
This was a lovely cruise. Very peaceful. Plenty of room. Plenty of food to purchase. Nice music from time to time. Great views, nice pace.
Nice relaxing boat tour. Good views of fjord and harbor sites. Easy boarding and smooth sailing. Food and drink available.
Really nice relaxing boat trip on the fjord. Felt it was a good amount of time on the water. I recommend the boat ride.
Beautiful trip! The cruise goes around the Oslo fjord and has a narrator that talks about the history of surrounding buildings.
Great views of Oslo and surrounding areas but just be aware that they don’t use the sails. I suspect that the modern boats are more comfortable and move faster. I had picked this tour because I thought they would actually use the sails for part of the trip. Crew was very nice and boat was spotless clean.
Wanted to add some photos of our cabin E323 as we could only find 1 photo on a different website which did not show all that could be seen from the window. Cabin was great, clean and quiet and the ship was not the best it could have been which was a shame as Ventura is now showing her age..and there will be added surprises of crew suddenly being outside the window too !
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Way to Experience the Oslo Fjord! We had a wonderful time on the 2-hour Oslo Fjord sightseeing cruise by sailing ship! It was such a relaxing and beautiful way to experience Oslo from the water and see a completely different side of the area. The audio guide played over the speakers throughout the cruise was excellent. It was very informative and explained the history of the fjord, the different islands and areas we passed, and what made each one significant. We saw more than 30 points of interest along the way, and having the commentary really added to the experience because we understood what we were looking at rather than simply sailing past it. The sailing ship itself made the experience even more enjoyable and gave the tour a special atmosphere. The two hours went by quickly, and there was always something interesting or beautiful to see. We really enjoyed this cruise and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Oslo. It’s a great combination of sightseeing, history, beautiful scenery, and a relaxing time on the water. A fantastic way to experience the Oslo Fjord! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our group had mixed reviews for this experience - the weather impacted it a lot, even though it was early August for our trip it was very windy and cold on the day we went. Not only our group but everyone onboard didn’t look very happy even though they did provide wool blankets for people to wrap up in. I wasn’t cold and did have a nice time riding around the Fjord, but the crew could definitely be more personable. The captain didn’t acknowledge anyone, only one of the crew members spoke very briefly and was available to serve drinks but the tour is prerecorded. The crew almost seemed annoyed to me, I understand the some is just cultural and personality differences but I definitely didn’t feel like they appreciated the business. I said I wouldn’t recommend it because there’s other boat tour options and I would probably try one of those instead if we did it again, but maybe give it a shot and you’ll have better weather and a better experience, I did like the boat and the views.
We did a very enjoyable 2 hour Oslo Fjord Cruise in a lovely older style boat. It wasnt busy and there was very comfortable seating and a small cafe with some limited food and drink options, Highly recommended!
Very smooth ride. Staff was friendly. The audio was in English, so that was very helpful for an American.
There was more and helpful information provided on the recorded presentation. Crew was helpful in answering my questions. The captain was secluded away from everyone. The recorded presentation could have been a little louder. Although I didn’t ask for them to do that.
Very pleasant and informative trip. The crew was nice and helpful
Tour is pleasant way to spend 2 hours on a good weather day. Would not want to be on it if cold and rainy. Narratives and sights were adequat3
Lovely experience. Staff were lovely. There weren’t too many people on our trip so plenty of room. Would recommend highly
This was an amazing tour through the Oslo fjords lots of Wonderful sightseeing Islands, great food and history
Beautiful trip. Boat is comfortable, with food and drinks available for purchase. Bathrooms, too. Nice intro to the city.
Wonderful and relaxing. Perfect for beginners and experienced. I would do this tour again, I am happy to leave a positive review.
This cruise is definitely worth both the time and money. Try to purchase in advance. Oslo’s architecture, climate and historical progress are definitely represented. We went in late July, and Oslo really comes alive in the warmer weather. Be sure to sample today’s catch in the various restaurants surrounding the cruise area as well.
What a delightful Oslo fjord cruise aboard the S/S Helena! The vessel itself is a wonderful old ship maintained in excellent order, the crew so competent, friendly and pleasant, the route so full of interest and helped by an appropriate recorded commentary which chips in from time to time with just the right amount of information. At times the engines-which are not really noisy or intrusive-are cut by the skipper and the Helena just drifts forward in blissful silence passing by these lovely peaceful scenes amongst the archipelago. How these people live! Refreshments are served by the purser at the bar; what can beat a cold beer or crisp glass of wine under the summer sun in this wonderful place? Overall an excellent, good value experience.
One needs to understand how Norwegians define a Fjord - especially their largest Fjord. I did not understand that the water entrance to Oslo was once filled with ice, and when that melted, it created the giant fjord leading to Oslo. Since we had just entered Oslo on a cruise ship most of the tour duplicates that which we had just seen. The first 30 minutes in the bay around Oslo was very helpful!
It was a lovely calming trip. Beautiful scenery. Loved the sauna rooms and summer homes. Good to buy a drink as you travel. Bring a sunhat
The sailing itself was good, but very windy and raining. Of note, on board there are snacks, beverages hot and cold, alcohol, souvenirs for sale mid-ship lower level, as well as bathrooms. The true star of this trip was the WONDERFUL crew on board and on land. Two of our passengers had limited mobility. One fell after exiting the gateway. Did I mention it was still raining?! The crew rushed to help, and ANGELS appeared from inside the building to assist! They offered us shelter, umbrellas, a dry place to wait, and arranged special transport back to our ship. They are the true picture of compassion and warm hearts! Choose this company for the BEST in Oslo!
Saw an advert for a fjord cruise which would take us nicely to lunchtime. We boarded the Christiana and had an interesting cruise around the fjord. The boat itself is an old sailing ship - below decks was worth a look to see the huge beams. Excellent, clear audio in English. The crew were lovely - hard to beat a beer on the high seas. Comfortable seating with blankets provided for the chilly folk.
The starting point was easy to find.
For those seeking a leisurely and calming afternoon experience lasting at least two hours, this tour is an excellent choice to consider.
We really enjoyed this small cruise around the fjord. The audio was clear and interesting
We really enjoyed the cruise, particularly the narrated guide over the tannoy. We learned some things we hadn’t yet learned and enjoyed stunning views around the Fjord. The toilets were clean and the bar had a great choice of drinks and a few snacks. Great value and a once in a lifetime experience!
The boat ride was beautiful, even with poor weather. We especially enjoyed the information given over the tannoy, lots of things we didn’t know already! The toilets were clean and the bar had a good selection of drinks as well as a few snacks,
Completely worth every penny. Gorgeous views and enough commentary to know what you are looking at without being overwhelmed with information. The drinks on board were reasonably priced as well.
I was a great boat ride even in the rain.
Thoroughly enjoyable, friendly, relaxing, scenic and informative cruise - highly recommend
This was such a lovely cruise! The rain and gloomy weather did not detract from the experience at all! I'm so happy I went. It's a good way to see the city of Oslo from the fjords.
