Our stay at Sommerro exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful, luxurious, and incredibly welcoming. We honestly didn’t want to leave.
The design of the hotel is stunning, the service was exceptional, and every detail felt carefully considered. Breakfast each morning was one of the highlights of our stay, an amazing selection and such high quality.
After staying here, it’s easy to see why Sommerro is a Michelin-recommended hotel. It was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had, and we’ll absolutely be back the next time we’re in Oslo.
When we go on vacation, we're looking for an escape from our everyday lives, and this hotel delivered exactly that. Its stunning design transported me to a different time, something few hotels manage to pull off. Careful art deco details show up everywhere you look. If Wes Anderson were a hotelier, this is the hotel he'd design. Breakfast was fantastic, too. The royal eggs benedict and the waffles were highlights of the breakfast menu. I'd absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Oslo.
Here’s what I’ll say. It’s very elitist and maybe that’s good if you’re the elite but if you have a measly Superior King room, then you are actually a second class citizen. You want to use the cool kids pool? That’ll cost you. You want to use the cold plunge or infrared sauna? That’ll cost you. It’s a 5 star hotel but everything is an upcharge. The people across the hall from us cooked in their room and had the door propped open the entire time which made everything smell terrible. We mentioned it to the front desk. They did not care at all. Our sink did not drain, again did not care at all. I’m sorry, I expected better. Waste of a lot of $$$.
Visited from the states for a short stay and also ate at their restaurant. While the restaurant service could’ve been better, the food was delicious. The rooms were also very nice!! The pool and sauna was free for use near the gym location and I thoroughly enjoyed. The sauna on the rooftop is an extra fee which should’ve been relayed to us upon check in but was only just summarized. I would return again!
We stayed for 3 nights at the end of May 2026 in a junior suite. The room was gorgeous. Even though there is a relatively busy street right outside, it was quiet. The beds are great. The chocolate you get on arrival was so good, we ordered more. The location is excellent. My daughter loved the unlimited sparkling water available from taps located on every floor. The staff were amazingly warm, kind and helpful, from the cleaning staff to reception to room service to breakfast. It is one of the nicest hotel stays we have experienced and we would definitely recommend it.
