A great experience to learn and make tea and enjoy some sweet cake, delicious!
History of tea and tea preparation experience was good. Sweet treats were cute and seasonal. Instructor was sweet.
This was a wonderful insight into the tea tradition in Japan. Masako was very informative and entertaining in leading the class. You get to make your own matcha and also get a delicious sweet. All very interactive. Small stools are available if you find sitting on the floor too uncomfortable. One of the highlights of our two week trip to Japan
The Matcha tea ceremony was a great experience to learn not only how to correctly prepare matcha but also the history of matcha in Japan. A very relaxing way to spend a rainy afternoon in Osaka
It was such a warm, relaxing, and fun tea ceremony experience, made even more special by a wonderful host.
Great experience! Eri was exceptionally informative and friendly. Highly recommend!!
We loved this experience. It was interesting and the treats and tea were delicious. The ceremony was lovely and we got to try making matcha ourselves too!
Very informative and peaceful experience. Relaxing snd serene after walking through Dotonbori. The Host was lovely.
Absolutely lovely experience. One of my favourite things we did in Japan. So much fun.
Lovely englishspeaking hostess Masako gave us an informative, fun and entertaining tea ceremony. Highly recommend it. We were a family of four with children aged 12 and 15.
We enjoyed a real authentic Japanese experience, right in the heart of Dotonbori. Learnt a lot about the history of the tea ceremony as well as the traditions behind it. Our hostess was lovely
It is clean, tidy. Friendly welcome. Easy to find on main road. Please wear long trousers and CLEAN SOCKS Excellent experience highly recommend
The ladies that took the session were both very lovely. Were provided with information about the correct was to make and drink macha and had the opportunity to make our own cup of tea.
Kozu was very knowledgeable and patient. The whole experience was wonderful. We learned how to make tea and enjoyed the rituals associated with it.
Such a great tea ceremony experience in Osaka near the Dotonbori canals!
An absolute highlight of our Japan trip! Informative, hands-on, fun, and yummy. Led by a wonderful instructor.
Kazu was brilliant with information regarding the history and demonstrating the steps for a tea ceremony.
Eri was amazing. I loved the tea ceremony and felt like I learned a lot of new things!
It was a wonderful and calming experience. Getting told about the history, experiencing the tea ceremony and making your own tea was part of this lovely class ! If it’s possible take some time in Osaka for this.
Nice experience. All was good. Very kind woman than explained anything in good engliish. Tea and sweets.
I considered doing the tea ceremony at a ‘big name hotel’ but it was booked and boy am I glad it was! I believe that fate allowed me to join this great group of diverse people for a very intimate and educational experience. My husband had zero interest in tea ceremonies so I went alone. I felt very safe and comfortable. I tend to get lost easily so my husband and I scouted out the location the night before. It is probably easy to find for normal people but as I said I get lost easily so I was glad we did the dry run. Our instructor was so gracious and did everything possible to ensure everyone was comfortable. I learned a lot and feel like I learned more in this smaller setting than I would have at the brand hotel ceremony. Our instructor talked a lot about the day to day life of people in her neighborhood and how the tea ceremony education starts very early. She also talked about how it is ever evolving. Her knowledge was vast and fascinating. The tea was delicious as were the treats. And there was opportunity to purchase some items to take with you. I loved this experience and would highly recommend it.
Fun to learn about the traditions of the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Well crafted class! Easy to find and didn't take too long!
Wonderful experience! We learned a lot about the beautiful tea ceremony and had a lovely time. Before our visit, I was a little concerned about having to sit in the traditional pose, but they have little stools for those who can't manage that. The tea was quite nice and the sweet treat was beautiful as well as tasty.
The tea ceremony was very nice. Our ceremony was held by Mayumi and Akiko who were both very polite and friendly. Overall an amazing experience.
yuki and mayumi were so nice and explained everything very well ! we had a good laugh all together, everything was very fun. a good experience for families
Absolutely wonderful! One of our favorite experiences in Japan. Wonderful history lesson on the art and history of the tea ceremony and we learned how to make a perfect cup of tea! They were so kind and such wonderful hosts!
Fine experience of Matca history and tea making - great host Haruta who was very kind and hospitable
Fantastic experience- hostess did an excellent job explaining the history of the tea ceremony and the process of it with patience and thoughtfulness. Highly recommended!
Beautiful ceremony. The history and demonstration were eye opening. 🍵 AND the tea cups were absolutely fantastic. Definitely recommend doing while you’re in Japan.
Masako was a wonderful host and very informative! We all loved the experience and highly recommend this beautiful tradition.
Very informative and friendly. We learned about the importance of tea ceremonies in history and culture. Recommend the tour.
My family enjoyed this introduction to a Japanese tea ceremony. The location was easy to find, and our 2 hosts were very friendly and informative, teaching us the history and procedures, answering questions, and instructing us on how to make our own matcha tea. My children, ages 17, 13, and 8, were engaged the entire 45 minutes we spent for this activity. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a cultural experience while visiting Osaka.
Yuko was our tea master for the tea ceremony. She was wonderful, kind, and patient. Learning about the history of tea and the proper rituals and tea room etiquette was very interesting. Paying attention and using all 5 senses during the ceremony made for a peaceful, mindful break from the busy day. The sweets were enjoyable and the tea delicious. Highly recommend!
Lovely and informative experience for a reasonable price. Would definitely squeeze this in on your trip!
Eri was so nice and give us a very nice ceremony
Had an unforgettable experience at the Osaka tea ceremony. The hosts were kind, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic which made for a welcoming atmosphere. We started off our experience with a quick segway into the history of traditional Japanese tea ceremonies which touched on both the origins, and the spiritual elements, allowing for a deeper appreciation for the culture. After this, our gracious host provided the instructions and a quick demonstration of the traditional way to make matcha tea which was both informative and impressive. We ended off with a humorous attempt to replicate the craft of tea making, which was a lot harder than it looked. Overall an 11/10 experience in Osaka, and guaranteed fun for families and individuals of all ages.
A fantastic experience from start to finish. The host was kind, knowledgeable, and easy to understand. The atmosphere was authentic and the matcha was delicious. We learned a lot about Japanese culture and tradition. I would highly recommended this to anyone living in or visiting Osaka. 11/10!
A very nice ceremony. The hosts were friendly and it was nice to partake in the tea ceremony about which we have heard so much.
Loved it! So glad we did it. Learned a lot about the tea ceremony. We prepared matcha tea at the end. Really enjoyed it.
Got to say Noriko is the best host. Very polite, very patient and very observant. She shared the history of tea ceremony and also demonstrated it in details. Patiently taught us the steps and guide us to do it for ourselves. she handled the Q&A portion amazingly, very knowledgeable.
We loved watching and participating in a tea ceremony! Her matcha was lovely and she was very kind and informative.
Cool tea ceremony close to Dotonburi. You are served sweet mochi and learn/ experience Japanese tea ceremony. Then you do the matcha whisking yourself after. A con would just be that the activity next door was pretty loud, so it kinda disrupted the tranquility of the ceremony, but I'll still give it 5 stars.
This was a must do experience in Japan and better prices than in Kyoto with four people. I took my two adult kids and teen and they loved it.
It was a wonderful experience. Our host was lovely.
Great experience!! Learned about the history of the tea ceremony, made matcha tea & had sweets. Highly recommend!!
We had Mio for our exoerirnce, it was wonderful to learn about the origins of the tea ceremony and learn that it is not simply just about drinking tea. Mio was wonderful and made us feel very welcome, if you have her for the experience you are very lucky. Arigato Gozaimasu Mio!!!
Our small group visited this tea ceremony place by at the beginning of May based on recommendations. Eri was our tea master. She gently shared the story during the ceremony, guided us through the entire tea-making experience and gave us a warm feeling of a traditional Japanese home. Matcha is quite a specific type of tea, so not everyone in our group actually liked it, BUT everyone really enjoyed the experience.
A very intimate experience learning about the history of matcha and how to make it. Our instructor was very friendly and knowledgable
Our group of 6 was joined by another couple, so there were only 8 of us, which made the ceremony intimate. Mayumi was wonderful, we learned a lot about the history of tea ceremonies and it was so peaceful watching her perform the ceremony. It was so fun getting the chance to make matcha ourselves as well. Both the tea and sweets were delicious!
