Lovely day spent seeing Osaka, we had the luxury of a warm sunny day so our walking tour was very enjoyable. Our guide was great and I can’t fault anything we did, ate or saw, thanks!
We had an amazing private tour guided by your wonderful staff Kaori. She is very accommodating and very helpful. She gave us all the information we needed to know about all the significant places and she’s got the knowledge about the history of all the places we went to. I will definitely recommend her to other people who want to do the same tour we did. I also if we ever we come back here again in Osaka we would like to request her again as our private tour guide Kaori thank you so much spending the day with us and very well done on your first day as a tour guide. Very well done!👍🏼
The experience was great. Taku out guide was very knowledgeable on the visited sites. Fluent in English. He knows the best areas to get your food at the Fish Market. Ask for Taku he is great!!
We had an absolutely exceptional Castle and Food Tour with Kumiko and Kaori yesterday!!! They picked us up at out hotel and from the moment we started we instantly connected. Very fun, very personable. Kaori lived in Arizona for a time, Kumiko has a son who lived in the US for years and she has been many times. They were very easy to chat with and ask questions. Very casual and not buttoned up like we have experienced a lot in Japan. Not only did we learn a lot and do everything the tour said… learn some history, eat extraordinary food etc., which we expected…. The unexpected things came in when at the deliiiiiiicious sushi place, we casually asked Kaori how she made her pretty chopstick stand out of chopstick paper, not only did she do that, she also made a teeny paper crane for me (it’s my birthday) also out of the tiny square of chopstick paper. 🥹 That was the first time my friend and I teared up. The second time was when I asked Kumiko where we could go to buy a good japanese chef’s knife. She took us to a very reasonably-priced shop that not only had beautiful knives, but also engrave your name on it!!! Kumiko and Kaori went through all of the ways “Catherine” can look (and mean) in Kanji, and they picked characters for my name that meant “blooming in all its splendor, standing poised with inner strength”. I had those characters etched on the knife and it will have a profound impact on me everything I pick up that knife every day. I will think of these two extraordinary women, and the memorable time my husband and our friends shared with them. If I could give more stars than five, I would. We exchanged information and when we are back to Japan or we hear of friends making trips, we intend to recommend them highly. Thank you both for an extraordinary day. We will NEVER forget you!! ❤️❤️
Kumiko and Kaori were outstanding hosts and guides. Punctual, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, energetic, and most all galactically pleasant! The tour was tailored to our specific interests and was efficient and fun. We had four adults and one 12 year-old in our group, and they did a great job accommodating everyone's questions and needs. The best part for us was getting to know these two amazing women and hearing about their families and interests. There aren't enough stars to give these two.
Kumiko and Kaori were the best tour guides you can ask for. We spent an entire day touring Osaka from Osaka Castle to the food vendors downtown. They thought of everything including frozen towels in the 34 C heat. We had our food prepared on the street or at specific vendors. The sushi and sashimi were beyond spectacular. I would never have had this much fun without our guides. They helped us with shopping for cutlery and yukata which was an amazing bonus. Thank you Kumiko and Kaori.
Me and my wife had a wonderful time with Mie. She was so much fun and showed us around a lot of her favorite spots to eat and showed us around Osaka Castle. The tour was great all around and would definitely recommend to anyone interested.
Mie was absolutely incredible. We booked this tour for our first full day in Osaka after a long flight and honestly had no idea how much we needed it. She picked us up at the hotel, spent six hours showing us the city, and then walked us back at the end even though she didn’t have to. She helped us get comfortable with the trains and understand how the city is laid out, which paid dividends for the rest of our trip on days when we were on our own. Osaka Castle and the park were beautiful and her knowledge made it so much richer than just walking around and reading plaques. But honestly what stood out most was everything outside the “official” tour. She talked to us first to get a feel for what we liked, and then took us to restaurants we never would have walked into on our own. Not tourist spots either. Places where it felt like she genuinely had the insider scoop. Every meal was a hit. Shopping was the same way. We told her we wanted a Japanese kitchen knife and she took us straight to the right area and got the conversation going with the right people. She also helped us track down something as small as a coin organizer, going store to store with us until we found it. No impatience, just happy to help. Here’s the thing that might not be in the tour description but is maybe the most valuable part: if you’re at all intimidated by the language barrier or just not knowing how things work in Japan, Mie will fix that. By the end of the day we felt genuinely confident going into restaurants on our own, navigating the city, all of it. She doesn’t just show you Osaka, she sets you up to actually enjoy it after she’s gone. One of the best decisions we made the whole trip. Book her.
Mie.fave us a thorough tour of Osaka castle, Market, Dotonbori and a lunch with many Osaka delicacies. Helped us with our personal requests. Mie made it memorable.
Our tour guide Mie provided an exceptional experience during our time in Osaka. Her passion, kindness, flexibility, and local insight truly elevated our visit. We loved every moment, from exploring Osaka Castle, the crowds in Dotonburi, indulging in some serious shopping, and ending the evening with delicious Korean barbecue and Rikuro cheesecake.
We toured the grounds of Osaka Castle and sampled delicious food at the fish market with our guide, Taku. He was very attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating to our food requests and restrictions. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour with Taku!
We had an incredible first day in Osaka with Mie. The pacing was perfect and she tailored the tour to everything we wanted to see. She guided us through the castle and key neighborhoods, shared so much about the culture, and took amazing photos for us along the way. The food tastings were a highlight and she even treated us to the famous cheesecake. It was the perfect mix of history, sightseeing, and local flavor. We highly recommend this tour.
Mie was an incredible tour guide! She accommodated all the destinations we wanted, set an exceptional pace of touring and was so helpful in understanding the city and neighborhoods. She understood the best local food spots to take us to get an authentic taste of Osaka. I would absolutely recommend.
Enthusiastic and knowledgeable local guide Yuki San went above and beyond to provide unforgettable Osaka experience, complete with delicious marketplace treats and city’s major attractions. Very happy with the tour!
Taku was a fantastic guide! We did it on our first day in Osaka, and it was great way to break the ice and gain confidence for the next days of exploring on our own.
Taku was brilliant. He gave us great information about food and shopping. We had a great time. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.
Had an awesome day with Kumiko and learned a ton! She gave us great historical context to what we were seeing and overall Japanese history and even had visual aides. She was super friendly and funny. Osaka castle was beautiful and we had a great experience in Kuromon market eating at places we would not have been able to find without her. Def recommend for anyone wanting to learn about Osaka and have a delicious day!
We had an amazing day in Osaka, led by our very friendly, confident and caring tour guide Taku-san. We had told the travel company that we had scheduled a Michelin restaurant for dinner after our tour, so Taku-san arranged our itinerary so that we front-loaded the food portions of our tour at the start of the day. Not only that, but he called ahead to the restaurant to see if they would be able to take us a bit earlier than our reservation because there was about a 30 minute gap between the end of our tour and our dinner booking. At the end of the tour he also put us in a taxi and told the taxi driver exactly where to drop us off, as the restaurant was located in a very obscure location. As the temperatures were extremely hot, Taku-San also ensured that we constantly sought shady or air-conditioned areas to take breaks and he even brought frozen bottles of water for us kept cool with dry ice in his backpack. The tour itself was fantastic. Taku-san walked us through the Kuromon market where he took us to several of the food vendors to sample A5 wagyu, some Michelin-rated takoyaki (fried octopus balls), some very fresh sushi and sashimi, and a fun sake tasting. We then went to the Osaka Castle, where he took us to all of the locations to give us some great photo opportunities, and then we spent a lot of time walking around various markets and neighborhoods, including Dotonbori, as well as some off-the-path smaller streets with really good vibes.
Kimiko was a delight as our guide. Her knowledge of Osaka and its history added to the wonderful experience that we had. The experience was 1/3 history, 1/3 food tour, and 1/3 shopping. If I had only one day in Osaka (which we did), I spend it on this tour. We started at Osaka Castle in all its glory, and its position in Japanese history. Then off to sample local culinary delights, like a local. Kimiko chose shops that had a long history in Osaka, run by generations of the same family. Then off to the shops, Kimiko took us to a shopping mall that stretched 2.4 kilometers, and no we didn't walk the whole stretch. We also learned about the Osaka subway system, easy once you know.
Kumiko was an excellent guide. She was very attentive to the needs of the whole group and customized the places we visited depending on our interests as we made our way around Osaka. The food stops were outstanding, everything was delicious and the portions were perfect. She even provided some follow up restaurant and shopping recommendations. Highly recommended.
Mr. Yuki was the best!! My kids and I truly enjoyed our day at Osaka Castle, the fish market and shopping . Lunch was delicious.
Mie was great! She took us to great places to taste a variety of foods. The were all delicious, fresh and savory. You also see how some of the plates are made. Highly recommend it.
There are many food experiences in Osaka, but having a great guide is like having a friend show you their home town and take you to their favorite spots. My friend had some mobility limitations and couldn’t walk for 6 hours, but our fabulous guide Mie was immediately flexible and switched us to taxis to take us between tour stops and taking the train at Osaka castle to help us get around on a super hot day! She chatted to us about Osaka and its history as we walked around and modified the tour food stops to suit our tastes. Everything was yummy and we found Kuromon market fascinating. Since I have been to Osaka before, we skipped Dotonbori and went off script to make a stop at some used Kimono places where we got beautiful pieces to remember our trip to Japan along with all the amazing food. Mie made the entire experience relaxing and fun, took pics for us along the way and I only wish we could take another tour with her.
Mie made sure that we could enjoy and taste foods even with our dietary restrictions. She made sure we got to do everything we wanted to do in Osaka & have a great insight into the bylanes of the city.
This was a fun way to explore Osaka Castle, Kuromon market, and Dotonbori street. Our guide Kumiko was very sweet and fun to chat with. She took us to try some excellent food in Kuromon market. Highly recommend the tour and Kumiko!
So blessed to have Mie with us. We travelled with our son (10 years) so her summary before entering Osaka castle was a nice intro before browsing. She brought us to castle photostops and her favourite stores run by locals in Kuromon market. The pace was perfect for families. We never would have figured out which ones are better without her. We struggled with our family Osaka Amazing Pass after the tour ended. She came back to save us from the situation. Thank you Mie!
Yuri is a natural, gifted guide and teacher. Her love and knowledge (and hand made pictorial guide booklet) shined at every stop. We learned essential Japanese history and the stories behind the castle, the markets and the local culture, while tasting delicious local Osaka delicacies that we would not have found otherwise. We had so much fun that we did not want the tour to end… and are so appreciative of the time, care and thoughtfulness that Yuri put into communicating our meeting location, our dietary preferences and favorite foods. If available, we would rate this tour with 6 stars…
Mie was a great guide. She made sure we got to castle and other sights fast and easy. We went to Osaka castle, what a great experience. Mie made sure we had handicap access ♿ to get to all the floors without taking the stairs. My wife has bad knees and feet. Then to the "Black Market and Dontonbori Street. We are Waygu steak, sushi and tuna. All was very delicious, we had options for other food but had enough. If you need someone to guide you around town, this is perfect tour. Domo Arigato to Mie for an excellent day and tour.
Mie picked us up from our hotel in kyoto and she made sure that we got back on the right train after the tour. We explored Osaka’s well known places and got a great sense of the beauty of the city. The cuisines we tried were all amazing, we just wish we had room in our stomachs to try more variety. Mie was even kind enough to loaned me her umbrella. Thank you Mie do much❤️
Kenny was great! We enjoyed it very much. We first stopped at a local coffee shop that has been around for over 40 years, then explored Osaka castle, kurumon market, and Dotonbori. Kenny showed us places we would’ve missed on our own.
This was an absolutely brilliant tour! Our guide, Yuri, was so enthusiastic and told us so much about the history of Osaka. The tour took us to many different places, some historic, some modern, some quiet and hidden, others bustling with life and excitement. If you ever want to visit Osaka I strongly recommend you book a tour with Yuri, you will not be disappointed!
My wife and I went on our tour with Yuri and that was one of the best decisions we ever made on a vacation. She was so kind and generous and engaging and simply put we had an amazing time but also learned a lot about all the places we visited . We are already making plans to go on a trip back and having another tour with Yuri is already on our list.
We did a 6 hour Osaka and Foodie Tour with Yuri. She did an amazing job taking us through the history and culture of Osaka. We ate a ton of amazing food. We had sushi, Wagyu beef, and a bunch of street foods and they were all amazing. Yuri even took the time to take us to a knife shop so I could shop for knives! She was very knowledgeable with her history of Osaka Castle. I would definitely recommend a tour with Yuri!
Yuri was a fantastic and accommodating tour guide! She picked us up at our Hotel and our first stop was Osaka castle. She was very knowledgeable about Osaka castle and Japanese history, but didn't overwhelm us with information. It was a great mix of interesting facts and walking around to see the beautiful sights during the peak of cherry blossom season. Next it was off to Kuromon Market where we were treated to a wide array of amazing food. Tasty chu-toro and o-toro that melted in your mouth from a stall specializing in tuna, two types of fantastic wagyu picked out and cooked in front of us, Michelin rated takoyaki prepared in 3 different ways, and some types of sushi that are local to Osaka! After the food we grabbed some nice Japanese beer and other drinks from a Kuromon super market before heading off to an alley filled with a variety of kitchen supply stores. Yuri told us all about the various types of kitchen and tea implements native to Japan, and we bought some very nice Japanese knives for a fraction of what they would have cost at home in Canada. Last we went and saw Osaka's "Times Square" as Yuri called it. We opted to cut the tour a bit short, not because of any issue or dissatisfaction, but because we had another walking tour booked later that night and some of our party really needed a rest. We would very highly recommend this tour to anyone else wanting to get to know Osaka. Thank you Yuri!
Our guide was a very sweet young lady. We enjoyed spending our last day in Japan with her. We had a lot of fun together, taking the subway, visiting the castle, and tasting the local food.
Absolutely perfect tour. Yoko was a superb guide, knowledgeable, sweet, very helpful. The tour of Osaka Castle was great, cherry blossoms in bloom. Loots of people. The tour of Nam a great! Sushi was a meat, I never had fatty tuna as good, then teppen. I strongly recommend this tour, made our trip.
Taku was an amazing guide who showed us how to do the Shinkasen train and subway as our ship changed ports and arrived in Kobe and not Osaka. The trains were incredible and an experience in itself. We visited Osaka Castle where the Cherry Blossoms and Plum trees were starting to bloom which were beautiful. We visited the Hokuku and Hozen Ji temples during our day. The highlight was the food tour part in Kuromon. We tried 2 different tunas, both excellent, and sushi before moving into Wagyu A5 beef and Octopus Balls. Taku was very knowledgeable in giving us historical facts and sharing his food knowledge along the way. All of his suggestions were spot on. For instance, Octopus Balls with salt and mayo is the way to go!!! We finished the tour in Dotonbori which although super crowded he was able to show us all the things we needed to see. It was a great experience. We highly recommend this tour and if you get Taku you are very lucky!!
We had a fantastic tour with Mie San. She showed us nice places , let us taste delicious food and explained a lot of the culture in Osaka.
Great tour with Ken. The food we had was high-quality, especially the beef . Ken pointed out interesting things that we would have missed if we had just wandered around on our own.
We had the most amazing experience in Osaka even though we were only there for a few hours to visit, all thanks to Mei-san, our tour guide!! We are visiting Japan for several days but are staying in Tokyo, but decided to see a bit of Osaka even for just a few hours hence we took this Osaka Tour package. I must say that Mei-san is an excellent tour guide! She guided us efficiently and proactively. We had a wonderful and memorable tour of Osaka. Highly recommended especially if you are pressed for time and want to experience some authentic Japanese food, culture and places in a short span of time! Thank you so much for being our tour guide Mei-san! 🙏🏻 Arigato gouzaimasu!
Kumiko was fantastic! My husband and I had the best time with her. She is so personable and wants to make sure you have a great time! She shows you some of the top places in Osaka as well as the top places to eat in one of the markets. Highly recommend her and her team! Look forward to working with her when we go to Japan again.
We were a group of 6 foodies that were treated to a truly amazing Food and Castle tour with Kumiko and Yuri as our guides. Kumiko was incredibly knowledgeable and so much fun to spend the day with!
Yoko was an energetic and wonderful guide. The Osaka Castle is not to be missed and we loved all the tasty bites and drinks along the way. Outstanding experience!
Absolutely amazing!! This walking tour covered everything we wanted to see in Osaka. Our tour guide, Taku, first walked us around the Osaka castle grounds. We got to see the castle from different view points, the gardens, and a Shinto shrine. Taku offered to take pictures throughout and gave knowledgeable explanations of everything we saw. Taku also brought a presentation book with interesting facts and history about Osaka castle and Osaka as a city. We learned how to respectfully enter and pray at the shrines. After Osaka Castle we went to Dotonbori and walked through the seafood market, kitchenware market, and shopping center. The sights were beautiful and we especially enjoyed the Wagyu beef bites and takoyaki. Something that we really appreciated throughout the tour is that Taku was very flexible and allowed time to stop at any shops/sights that we wanted along the walk and was very kind throughout. My husband and I are visiting from the United States and we only had one day available to explore Osaka. This was the perfect tour for such a tight timeframe! We highly recommend!
We took this tour with Taku as we had a free day in Osaka from our two week Tripadeal tour. Taku met us at our hotel and was flexible with his itinerary to take into account the experiences we had already seen. He brought historical fact sheets with him so we could refer to these along the way. We visited the Osaka Castle which was beautiful but we didn’t go in because we had already seen Himeji castle a couple of days before. Taku took us to the best photo spots away from the crowds. We then took the subway to the Kuromon food market where Taku helped us sample sashimi, sushi, wagyu, soy doughnuts and rice cakes. He paid for most of these for us. After that we went to the kitchen goods marketplace and Taku helped us buy some goods to take home. After that we walked through the tiny laneways to show us shrines and temples we would otherwise not have found as well as spots where Japanese puppetry used to take place and then finally finished up at the centre of Dotonbori. We enjoyed our day with Taku and would recommend.
We had a wonderful day exploring Osaka with Taku. He arrived at our hotel on time and led us off on our journey with confidence. Taku assisted us in buying our Metro tickets and led us to Osaka Castle where he shared his knowledge of this landmark. For more on what the rest of the day brought, we recommend you come to Osaka and book a tour with Taku and discover for yourself. Thank you Taku for making our stay in Osaka so memorable.
Hideki was very fun and full of personality. She was very honest in our conversations. She helped us find a souvenir we couldn't find anywhere! Thank you so much! Such a wonderful traveling companion! 😍
We really enjoyed our time with Kumiko as our guide. We would have never ridden the subway or found all the amazing food ourselves. With Kumiko’s help I was able to shop for souvenirs for the grandkids. Overall I would highly recommend this tour. Do keep in mind that there is a lot of walking. She also met us at the cruise docking port which was a huge plus.
Kumiko is a very knowledgeable guide and generously shared her local experiences. She shared with us her best tips and stalls to eat at the markets and other tips on how to get around and where to shop.
