Osaka In A Nutshell: Three Hour Bike Tour

Peter was a wonderful guide . Enjoyed seeing quieter, beautiful park areas, and learning some of the history of Osaka.

We arrived 15 minutes early. The guide was not prepared for us, did not have bikes out and ready and had taken on two more cyclists which made our group larger than expected. There should have been a lead guide and a guide at the end for safety purposes...no trail guide. Although we were asked heights and weights when booking, bikes were just put out and not specific to our sizes. This took time away from tour. Guide went over where we were going, we waited for two late cyclists, and then he went over everything again. More time away from tour. No instructions were given to two of us who were going to use ebikes and one participant fell at start and no first aid was available. This whole bike tour was through busy streets and lots of people and unfortunately, I did not enjoy the experience at all.

It was a Perfect Tour with a very nice Guide.

My husband booked this for our group of 4. We were excited to explore Osaka parks and the Osaka Castle by bike but were unprepared for how much biking on the streets was required. (One of our family members had trouble keeping up with the main group and felt some of the street crossings were hectic. The problem is the tour says a max of 8 people and there were 11 in our group. Having 11 bikers successfully cross all the stoplights together is impossible. Our guide was very personable and did have the group wait many times. He also provided a general pin for one of our park stops which was used by our stragglers. But perhaps having a second guide to bring up the rear if > 8 bikers would have made the experience better.

Peter was very insightful with the area of Osaka and giving us a historical background of areas that are less busy when cycling.

This was an excellent way to see a big part of Osaka with our kids. They had a great time on the bikes, we saw many things in a short time as well. Our guide Mayco was very knowledgeable and wonderful!

The Osaka in a Day Bike Ride Tour was an amazing experience! Peter was extremely accommodating, professional, and knowledgeable, making the entire tour fun and enjoyable. The history he shared along the way really brought the different attractions to life, and we had plenty of great stops for photos. There were only four of us on the tour, which made it feel personal and relaxed. Even though it was rainy and the roads were slippery, Peter handled everything professionally, and we still had an incredible time exploring Osaka. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun, active, and memorable way to experience Osaka! 🚲🇯🇵

I really enjoyed this biking tour led by Yuki. He was funny and educational. I love seeing his old maps of the city and hearing the history of Osaka. The bikes were top-notch and the route was very safe. The only thing that would’ve made it better was if my 11-year old son could’ve joined, sadly children under 13 cannot join the group tours

Super easy and fun trip bicycling around Osaka...even though it was so hot that day! Our guide, Matt, was very patient and took great care to make sure everyone stayed together and stayed safe. We had some younger kids in the tour so he had to make sure to accommodate them and their speed as well, which was I'm sure very reassuring to their parents. He was full of good information and stories and made the 3 hours fly by. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Lee was the best we guide ever!

We had a very enjoyable and relaxed bike ride with Leigh. It was quite hot and there was only 2 of us so he suited the ride to what we liked including gardens, river and coffee as well as including lots of info and sites. Much cooler with the breeze on the bike than walking. Bikes were comfy and well maintained, the riding was easy and mostly flat, a good way to still enjoy the outside, see and learn lots on a hot day.

This was a very enjoyable, engaging tour. Maurice was an excellent, helpful guide. The cycling was very easy; there were maybe one or two small hill to go up; otherwise, it was all flat or downhill. I definitely recommend wearing a hat and using much sunscreen, as you will be directly under the sun much of the time. Overall, this was a relaxing, enjoyable, worthwhile tour.

Joel was excellent at talking about the history of the various locations we went to, 3 hours was exactly the right amp by of time to explore Osaka on bike in hot weather, would definitely recommend it.

My Daughter and I had booked this tour and we actually ended up having a tour with just us and the tour guide. Im not sure what her name was but the email female name states Yuki? She was very nice and knowledgeable. She even had historic photos of the places we visited from the past. I loved being on the bike and riding around the city. The rose gardens were beautiful and the castle was breathtaking. The time went by so quickly. She also told us they do bike tours in Kyoto too. We just didn't have enough time. The bikes worked great, they gave us water and sunscreen. Loved this activity. Very very fun. Highly recommend Cycle Osaka!

Great fun and our guide had a lot of local knowledge and recommendations for food and other sightseeing . Also a simple yet comprehensive chat about the history of the places we visited.

Such a fun half day exploring the city with a local guide!! We loved Mayco and could’ve spent the whole day with her! It was the best way to see some of the highlights of Osaka. I’d love to do the full day if I’m back!

Great way to orientate yourself with the city. Bikes are super easy to use so you don’t have to be a biking pro and plenty of mini stops to take in the sites. Lee was a super knowledgeable host. Highly recommend

This is a great way to see Osaka, our guide Joe was excellent and we navigated through parks, pathways and a castle. Really enjoyed the day with our group, a very busy Saturday but it was great to see the locals out enjoying their parks and city. Wonderful day

Excellent in-depth knowledge and history of Osaka through the ages. Jeremy was our lead and was well versed in the rich landscape of Osaka. The tour was mostly flat and we covered a good part of the waterfront and island sites as well as the castle. Cherry blossoms were bountiful. Bikes have gears but not E-bikes.

Good quality bikes and informative and passionate guide. However we would have liked a little more information on Osaka today ie good areas to eat, places of interest etc. The History is important but for us, this was too much the focus. For us, too much talking and not enough cycling and visiting interesting places.

We were only in Osaka for a day trip while we were visiting Kyoto, but we loved this tour and Osaka so much we will be coming again. We wouldn’t have been able to see as much of Osaka if it weren’t for this tour, and our guide knew exactly how to navigate the roads safely with our big family. She was knowledgeable, welcoming and fun, and she showed us really great parts of the city.

Great experience. Pete was a great guide with plenty of knowledge around the tour. It was a great way to see the sights around the area. Most beginner cyclists would be easily able to handle the “riding.” Recommended. 👍🏻

This tour is great and I highly, highly recommend!! 3 hours was a perfect ride time, the spots we saw were great and our guide couldn’t have been better. He had great energy, was full of information about the places we saw as well as Osaka overall, and knew the best spot for pictures. He also gave us some great local recommendations for lunch and dinner. The bikes were in great condition and the ride was manageable for all ages. Their were a few tough hills, but doable :) Book this tour for a fun way to see and learn about Osaka. Thank for a great ride!!

This is the perfect way to see Osaka and learn history and religions. Our guide (Takuma) was absolutely fantastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Gave us some great recommendations for things to do beyond the tour. Highly recommend.

A great way to see the city. The E-bikes made it really easy and Mayco was an excellent tour guide. Bring gloves if it's cold weather!

Our guide Peter was fantastic, lots of information. Its an easy cycle, just under 14km, pretty flat - the slopes up to Osaka Castle are as steep as it gets

We had a fantastic half-day bike tour in Osaka with Peter. He is extremely knowledgeable about the city and shared lots of interesting history including Osaka castle and local insights along the way. Peter was also very patient and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe throughout the ride. The pace was relaxed, well organised, and a great way to see parts of Osaka we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Highly recommend this tour and Peter as a guide!

We did the half day Cycle Osaka tour (3 hours), a Mum (60) and my son (21). I booked an e-bike for myself but didn’t need it at all and in hindsight would have preferred a regular bike. The route is largely very flat and easy, picturesque riding. It was a sunny mid-December 13 degree day but riding I got cold hands and definitely needed a puffer jacket. The Castle and Rose Garden were my favourite parts of the route. Fantastic way to explore the city on only our first full day in Japan, Maurice our guide was very informative and rode at a very leisurely pace. Thanks

This was such fun tour. Joel was excellent and the city sights fabulous. Was tricky navigating around people at times but all part of the experience. Definitely recommend.

This bike tour has been the highlight of my trip to Osaka. Our guide, Matt, is hands down the best guide I've ever had in any tour. His style is the the perfect balance between interesting historical information, and light-hearted humour. He is very knowledgable and patiently answered my countless questions. I'm definitely doing the full day tour in the future when I come back to Osaka again and I'll make sure to book it with him.

A perfect introduction to Osaka - by bike. Our guide really knew his stuff with an in depth explanation of the history of Japan at each stop.

I had spent the previous week and a half with another tour company sightseeing in Japan and I honestly learned more about Japan in this three hour bike ride than I did with my previous operator. Cycling in Japan is so safe and it’s a great way to go sightseeing here. This operator has excellent bikes and the guides are exceptional. You will learn so much and enjoy while doing so. I highly recommend.

The tour guide, Peter, was great. He is Canadian but has lived in Japan for over 30 years. The bike ride takes you along the river, up to the castle, across town and around the island. Depending on where you are staying, you will get a different view of Osaka- the castle ,modern business district and green spaces. There are two or three very small hills. It was safe, excellent bikes and well organised.

A great 4hr guuded bike ride around Osaka. The bikes were easy to ride, guide extremely knowledgeable and we felt in safe hands as we navigated the streets and the crowds at Osaka Castle. This was our first visit to Osaka and it was a really good way to start our trip.

Joel was a great guide who was well versed in local culture . Pace was nut challenging. We saw interesting places. We enjoyed the 20 minutes after just talking about Osaka and more great places to see.
