We loved getting to do this food tour with our guide who also goes by “Auntie Osaka”. She was so fun and knowledgeable about the history of the area and locations. We did book this because we saw a previous review for gluten free, but to we do not recommend for those with allergies. Despite us asking for confirmation, many of the foods offered did contain soy sauce (a common gluten allergy trigger). Great tour for those who are allergy free! Very fun and insightful.

We had a great time eating Osaka with Chioye. She is a true local who takes special care to show visitors a good time.
We couldn’t have done, seen, or eaten as much as we did in our sunset to nighttime 4 hours with Ayako! She was a wonderful guide, giving heart and soul, with concern that we enjoyed ourselves every step of the way. Navigating alleys, streets and crossing neighborhoods - with our first Japanese metro train experience - this is a mind blowing feast for tastebuds and eyes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Chi, who was very accommodating food requests for a couple of fussy eaters! She was very knowledgeable on the local area and history. She was interesting to talk with and was happy to share stories. We visited places we simply would never have found on our own and ate so much delicious food! An unforgettable experience of Osaka. 😊
We had an amazing food walking tour in Osaka! Ayako our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the city's food culture and history. We visited several local spots that we never would have found on our own, and every dish we tried was delicious and authentic. The tour was well paced, with a great mix of sightseeing, cultural insights, and incredible food. We especially appreciated learning about the stories behind each neighborhood and the traditions behind the dishes. It felt like exploring Osaka with a local friend rather than being on a typical tourist tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Osaka. It's a fantastic way to discover the city, enjoy outstanding local cuisine, and gain a deeper appreciation for Osaka's unique culture. thank you Ayako for making us special.
Chiyoe was our tour guide and was very professional and fun to talk and walk with. She knows a lot about local foods and Michelin star in Osaka area. Gave us a lot of knowledge about Osaka and treated us so well on our trip.
Ayako was a wonderful food tour guide. She was very patient and accommodating to each of our requests. She also was great at communicating about the time and location. She knew exactly where to go and always ordered the perfect amount of food. We highly recommend her for this tour!
We had a wonderful time with Sue who led us to one delicious food treat after another! The places that we went were obviously personal favorites. The variety was great. And she is a lovely, friendly person!
Emiko was super friendly and welcoming throughout the whole tour! She shared a lot of interesting local food culture and stories that we probably would’ve never known by ourselves. The food we tried was really delicious too. The portions weren’t huge, but if you’re still hungry you can always order extra on your own. The route itself was pretty unique and off the beaten path, which made the experience feel much more local and special compared to typical touristy food tours. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it!
Ayako was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating to preferences and dietary needs. My wife is gluten free and Ayako tailored the tour perfectly to keep her happy and safe. We had delicious food and explored the city as a small group. I highly recommend this activity!
We did the walking food tour with Chiyoe. The directions the sent to us didn’t bring us to the meeting spot. They took us under the subway by the APA hotel. They should have specified exit 3 Ebisuchou station. We arrived an hour early so we had time to find correct spot thanks to Chiyoe. Once we were on the tour ,everything was great! We experienced several foods. Chiyoe was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend
We had the best time during our food tour! We came on a day trip from Kyoto during our trip to Japan and it was completely worth it. So many delicious bites and loved having a local show us around. Sue was amazing - so helpful and taught us so much about the city/food scene. We highly recommend!

Our guide, Chiyoe, was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable and hospitable. She went over and above to accommodate our requests and ensure we had a memorable experience. She showed us the back streets which we wouldn’t have ever thought to take on our own. We highly recommend this excursion.
A great tour tasting sushi, the best pork bun, delicious takoyaki and more with a delightful Osaka Auntie. Highly recommend this tour.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Day with Sue! We had such a fantastic day touring Osaka and Nara with Sue. She was friendly, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable, and she made the whole experience feel effortless. The food tour in Osaka was a total highlight—croquettes, manju, skewers, takoyaki, steamed buns… every stop was delicious. Sue knew all the best spots and shared great stories about Shinsekai, Dotonbori, and the local food culture. Ending at the Glico sign was perfect. In the afternoon, we headed to Nara, and visiting Todai‑ji with Sue’s explanations made the experience even more impressive. Standing in front of the giant Buddha was unforgettable. Overall, it was the perfect mix of amazing food, culture, and sightseeing. Sue made the day truly special. Highly recommend!

Our family of 5 with 3 adult children had an amazing time on this food tour. Our guide Keiko made it so special. We tried so many different foods from candy to octopus and Keiko gave us context and history about everything Osaka! If you are traveling to Osaka, book this tour and ask for Keiko as your guide. You won’t regret it!
An amazing food tour! Keiko was just fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly and an all round great guide. Would 100% recommend!
I had a fabulous time with Kaoru on our walking tour! She tailored our stops to my interests, and shared interesting history and cultural information along the way. We tried a variety of fabulous food that I would never have found on my own. She also knew the real local spots, rather than those with lines only because of influencers on Instagram. She was kind and funny and the time flew by. I highly recommend this tour!
Had a wonderful experience today with Keiko. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a true taste of local food while also learning about the culture and history of the area. Keiko is extremely knowledgeable, fluent in English, and explains everything in a clear and engaging way. She was very attentive, happy to answer questions, and shared many insights. We had the best time with Chiyoe! She was so sweet, funny, and knowledgeable! We loved hearing her perspective on Osaka’s history with her being Osaka native as well as every day life and culture of Japan. The tour itself was a perfect blend of various delicious foods, history and cheeky little facts about the area. Even considering our feet were in perpetual pain after days and days of walking, 3 hours on this tour just flew by! Would recommend!
We had a great experience with the lovely Ayako as our guide. The communication prior & throughout the tour was great. Ayako's passion for Osaka and the food we tasted was amazing. This tour did not disappoint!!
Ayako san was a great guide! Took us to really interesting parts of Osaka and shared some fun facts. The food was great and having her show us around the different spots was fun. Highly recommend!
If you want to feel at home in Osaka there’s no better tour. The kindness Ayako showed to myself and the knowledge she shared is a memory I will hold onto for a long time. This is a very laid back tour and that was the best part. You could ask any question, you could sit at a small table and share some of the best food I’ve had on my vacation. I’d encourage anyone who wants some good food and some even better company to do it.
This tour was fantastic! Keiko was informative, articulate, and genuinely friendly and approachable. Her deep love for Osaka was evident in the way she spoke about the city’s culture and traditions, as well as in the hidden food spots she shared with us. I loved that authentic Osaka snacks were included in the tour price—including the famed octopus balls! The experience was a great way to explore Osaka’s lively hotspots, complete with a fun local train ride that made us feel like true residents. Keiko also shared a thoughtful cultural insight I won’t forget: in Japan, it’s considered disrespectful to eat while walking. Her gentle reminder was both kind and educational. To top it off, she went above and beyond by recommending excellent restaurants and bars afterward—all of which were spot-on. Osaka is an unforgettable city, and Keiko’s tour made it even more memorable. Highly recommend!
Absolutely beautiful experience. Our guide Chiyoe was so knowledgeable and patient with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the choice of food, culture and history of Osaka. We spent a considerable time to together exploring the area. I highly recommended this food adventure.
Ayako was the best, such a good tour guide. Gave us a little of history and such incredible food to try. I recommend this a lot as Osaka can get overwhelming with the amount of food spots it has. Would love to come back and take another tour with Ayako
Chiyoe was the best tour guide we’ve ever had, she is such a sweet person and she made the trip very wholesome, we experienced new tastes and places we’ve never been before, she knew a lot of Osaka’s history and was a great guide
Tour was fab, got a real sense of Osaka from our local guide Chiyoe! She took us around Shinsekai Market we tried snacks and sake, then went to a conveyor belt sushi place which was amazing! Then went towards the Namba area, and had the famous takoyaki (octopus balls) and ended at the dotonburi running man. Tour was great, and Chiyoe put in such effort to ensure we enjoyed ourselves and learnt about Osaka! Also visited two shrines and learnt about the history. Was a great way to start our trip to Osaka!
We had an amazing personal tour from Ayako! Got lots of great info and history about Osaka, and of course, amazing food too. Definitely a knowledgeable and friendly guide, we couldn’t recommend enough!
This was a fantastic experience! Chiyoe was extremely knowledgeable and lovely to spend time with. She went out of her way to make sure we had a great day. Everything we tried was delicious and I learned a lot about Osaka at the same time. The food highlight for me was the pork bun I tried, it was very tasty. I highly recommend this experience, you will be pleased you did it!
Really informative (and delicious) food tour! We ate great food and heard lots of interesting details along the way. The highlight though was Chiyoe who was incredibly generous with her time and even took us through the Namba Yasaka shrine because we had mentioned we were planning on seeing it at some point. Definitely book!
I must have been blessed by Billiken, the god of luck, to have experienced such an amazing food tour in Osaka with Keiko! From the very first stop to the last bite, every dish told a story — rich with flavor, tradition, and warmth. I had the chance to try so many varieties of foods and tastes that truly showcased the city’s incredible culinary culture — from sizzling street snacks to hidden local favorites that I’d never have found on my own. Keiko is absolutely wonderful — knowledgeable, friendly, and full of passion for Osaka’s food and history. Her enthusiasm made every stop even more special, turning a simple tour into a memorable journey through taste and culture. By the end of the evening, my heart (and stomach) were full and happy. As they say in Osaka — “Kuidaore”! ❤️ -Adriana

Great tour with lots of Japanese food! Super nice guide, she has so much humor and information. Absolutely worthwhile the money.
I booked this tour after being advised that it was stroller friendly (which it was), we did take our daughter out of the stroller and carried it down a set of stairs once, but we could have very easily taken an elevator. The tour was a great introduction to Osaka! Our tour guide, Ayako, was so lovely, she provided a brief history of the city, was so personable, kind, and had great recommendations! She's very knowledgeable and added lots of fun facts along our stroll. The food was delicious and we got to try a lot of things we normally wouldn't have gone for. Would recommend this tour to anyone! Thank you, Ayako!
