Osaka Dotombori Food & Local Izakaya Bar Crawl Tour

Was a great time and the tour guide was good

This bar and izakaya crawl through Dotonbori and Ura-Namba was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Aki took us to tiny local spots we would never have found or had the confidence to walk into on our own. Each stop had its own personality, and the food and drinks were excellent all night. Takoyaki was our favorite. Ali was fun, knowledgeable and made the whole group feel like friends. They explained what we were eating and drinking, helped us order, and shared stories about the neighborhood along the way. The pace was relaxed, and three hours flew by. If you want to experience Osaka's food and nightlife like a local, book this tour.

Kosuke is an excellent and entertaining host. I had a really great time meeting other tourists and leaning new phrases in Japanese. I really enjoyed the snacks and drinks I had on this excursion, it was only about ¥5000 total for the places we went to. I highly recommend, especially for solo travelers.

Grear experience, love the drinks

I had such a great night exploring Osaka Dotombori with our guide Seiya! The izakaya tour was a fantastic way to experience the local food and drink scene & discover hidden spots we most likely wouldn’t have found otherwise. Seiya was an amazing guide who made the whole experience fun, relaxed, and welcoming. We got to make our own takoyaki at one venue, taste a variety of sake at the next and ended the night with a game of darts and karaoke. It felt like spending a night out with friends rather than being on a tour. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Osaka who wants to explore the local culture, meet new people, and have a memorable night out!

We toured some of the hidden gems of Osaka with Kosuke. He was a fantastic guide and introduced us to 2 different izakayas and 1 bar. Entrance was about $35 and we spent ¥2000 at each of the stops. All together it was about $60 for 4-5 drinks, takoyaki, gyoza, and a few other treats. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for more information on Osaka from a local and the opportunity to meet other travelers.

Kosuke was the guide who was actually very knowledgeable and made it light hearted. However, as the night ended we were taken to a karaoke style bar ( nothing special). First he claimed that we all needed to pay a 1000yen fee for which he could not explain, then he handed us a bar menu with hyper inflated prices, at least double the price of any similar establishment in the area. After a couple of expensive drinks, he switched his tactics to outright bribery to get 5 star reviews for both the bar and himself. He pressurised everyone to make 5 star reviews in exchange for a shot at the bar, now of course the vague 1000yen made sense, to pay for the shot. The whole scam was obvious to me so I refused the shot and opted to write an honest review. What everyone needs to understand is that all of the reviews for this tour are the result of outright bribery. Everyone agreed after the tour that they felt ripped off and betrayed, besides this we all had a great time, but moved to another bar for normal priced drinks. I've been on plenty of tours but this is the first time I've felt genuinely ripped off. Kosuke, or Joe as he likes to be called is a fraud, and so is the tour. Stop ripping people off, everyone would have more respect if you just asked for a tip, and to be honest, most people including myself would be happy to pay. I'll be reporting you to klook too!
