Our guide Matt, a historian, was great in passing on his knowledge of Ōsaka in an informative and fun way. The tour itself was a little slow compared to other cycling tours we have taken but with larger groups (there were 8 of us in total) I understand that all people need to be catered for. I think personally a 3 hour tour seeing all the sights at a slightly faster pace without the coffee and lunch stop would have suited us better, as we only covered 18km in 5.5 hours. Most people won’t need an electric bike for this tour - we took one and wish we had not.

Our guide Peter was very knowledgable and we had such a fun afternoon exploring the many sites in Osaka by E-bike. Highly recommended if you want to see Osaka in a more relaxed and fun way.
We had a solid tour with Paul seeing the city on a bicycle and learning about the history of Osaka. Overall, this was a worthwhile experience, although I will note that some of the information we learned contradicted what we heard from other tour guides. We also biked quite a bit on the sidewalks, which was rather chaotic. (As a point of reference, we had an amazing bicycle tour in Kyoto where the guide took us through the streets and was really professional about calling out when cars or other bicycles were approaching.)
A great insight to Osaka’s ancient and modern places of interest in the city. Our tour guide Matt was absolutely brilliant, we saw the main places of interest whilst his engaging way of describing the history made it easy to understand and the whole experience very enjoyable and entertaining. Not forgetting the super tasty lunch where we will endeavour to visit again before we go home. Many thanks again Matt and Cycle Osaka. Sayonara!!🇯🇵🫶❤️
Our bike trip was amazing in Osaka! Matt is a very knowledgeable guide so we learned the history of the area as well as fun facts. We rode through areas we could never have seen on a bus! Do this trip!
Great tour. Momo was a fun and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended way to see the highlights of Osaka. Perfect weather was a bonus.
Fabulous way to see the city of Osaka while learning interesting facts along the way. Easy ride with plenty of breaks and a tasty lunch
Had a really lovely day out cycling around Osaka, seeing a lot in a short time. It’s relatively easy, with a comfortable bicycle and personable guide. Second tour with this company and they are professional and knowledgeable.
Excellent experience! Really recommend! Guide Manik was great and we had an amazing time!
Experience Osaka on a true bike tour. Matt is the perfect guide as a bike enthusiast and historian. He made the tour so interesting and fun. We learned a lot about the history of the city and the monuments. Even the kids found the tour to be one of our best experiences on our family vacation. Lunch was included and made the tour extra special. Kudos to Matt and Cycle Osaka! Definitely recommend this tour to everyone. Family of 5 from Toronto, Canada.
Our tour was very well planned. We saw major parts of the city and had a very delicious lunch! Our guide Lee was great. He was very friendly and welcoming. It felt like we were hanging out with a friend as opposed to a guide.
Excellent biking food tour of Osaka. Joel was great and showed the group some nice food spots. If you’re into biking and food then this tour is for you.
Amazing tour of the highlights of central Osaka. Always felt safe, even when transiting along some of the main roads. The 5-6 hours was well worth it, but didn’t even feel that long. Fairly flat ride in general so with a general level of fitness and cycling ability you’re sure to have a great time. Lunch at a local kitchen/restaurant was amazing and perfectly complimented the tour.
We had a lot of fun riding all over Osaka and learned some history along the way. Osaka is beautiful. Our guide was very patient with our speed. Make sure you are fit or you will be sore after the trip.
What a wonderful day! Mayco was a great guide. She kept us moving without rushing and had a really good knowledge of Osaka and its history. The bike riding was fun and easy as mostly flat and a good pace all day. Highly recommend!
Matt was an awesome guide- super knowledgeable and friendly with a touch of greatly appreciated snark ;) The bikes were in great shape - I opted to upgrade to the ebike. Osaka is mostly flat and easily bike-able but I found the ebike super helpful with my janky knee. I highly recommend this tour on your first day in Osaka - you will see so much more of the city including off the beaten path spots than you would on a walking tour. It was a really nice place with plenty of stops to take a break and take some photos. The lunch towards the end was delicious - it was a local spot away from all of the tourists. This tour was one of the highlights of our 2 week visit to Japan.
This tour gave us a very interesting bike ride through Osaka. We saw many things including Osaka Castle grounds, shrines and rose garden. Our group decided on soba for lunch and our guide took us to a local restaurant that we would never have found on our own. They made their own noodles on site and they were delicious. The biking through the city was intimidating at first, but the people and bikers coexist so well here, we were able to navigate it without too much difficulty. I would recommend this tour. Easier than walking, you see a lot with a lot of information from the guide. For older folks, the difficulty is mild to moderate.
This excursion on a bicycle was the highlight of my time in Osaka, I got to discover back alleys, serene environments (I did not expect that from a big city), historical places and modern ones. The pace is great.
It was a wonderful experience with Akira! He definitely made it fun and enjoyable while making sure we are comfortable. He made sure we are hydrated on a hot summer day and gave us tips on how to combat the heat. We recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Osaka in a nutshell while having fun going around in a bike.
Akira was wonderful and made this experience easy and fun. It was a great way to get a sense for the city at the start of my trip.
Great day and Matt was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommend a day tour with Cycle Osaka.
We had a fantastic day with Lee who was our tour guide, we saw lots of the city we would not have seen and learnt lots of interesting facts! It was a really relaxing way to see the city as we avoided lots of crowded areas- would thoroughly recommend !
Excellent day out, Matt was great, he told us lots about Japan that we didn’t know. The riding is easy. You don’t need an electric bike as everything is pretty flat. I felt completely safe throughout the day and would highly recommend for anyone wanting to see Osaka from a different angle.
Touring the city with Osaka Cycle was such a fun experience, and a great way to tour the local neighborhoods and to plan what else to see in more detail later. The bikes were in good condition, the pace was very relaxed and our guide, Mayco, kept things fun the whole day. A really well-run little company.
Our guide Matt was spectacular so passionate about Japanese history. The bike ride was awesome saw so much of the city. A must do for anyone!!
It was an exciting bike ride through the streets of Osaka. We saw a lot of the city & that was awesome.
My daughter and I did the one day Osaka on e-bikes with Matt. It was one of the highlights of our whole Japan trip. We can't recommend Matt enough. He is such a knowledgable and entertaining guide. We learned about ancient and modern history and culture with a little bit of trivia too.
Great day. Joel was excellent. Knowledgable & friendly. Highly recommended
Joel made our Cycle Osaka tour unforgettable. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and full of fun insights about the city’s history and hidden spots. Riding through quiet backstreets and scenic routes gave us a perspective we’d never get on foot, and his stories made each stop come alive. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an authentic and enjoyable Osaka experience!
This is a great way to see the sights of Osaka. Everything was well managed, the guide very knowlegable and just a fun day. It was easy riding on comfortable well maintained easy to ride bikes.
Great guide and nice tour! Good cycling tempo. Because of the bad weather forecast the tourcompany changed it in to a halfday tour. Great that they anticipated!
Within a small amount of precious vacation time we saw so much! Much more exhilarating than walking and so exciting! Danic was knowledgeable fun and provided history and context.
We did this tour on our first day in Osaka. It was a great introduction to the city, hitting many highlights! It was also a great way to get out and get some fresh air to combat jet lag. Our guide Sam was wonderful! Highly recommend!
We went on the full day bike tour with our guide, Mau. Such a great experience! We took in so much of the city that we never would have been able to on our own. Each pit stop on our biking journey was intentional; Mau taught us about the city — history, culture, and cuisine — from the perspective of a local. We ended the tour exhausted but so so satisfied. Thanks for the best day!
My wife and I had a wonderful time on the full day Asaka cycling adventure. Our guide Matt was entertaining, informative and great company. The bikes were excellent and route easy to achieve and very safe. All in all, a fantastic experience.
This was awesome!! We saw so many places in Osaka on very comfortable bikes with a great guide, Maurice. His explanations of the places we visited were very informative. We were given time to explore each place and had a delicious lunch. The directions to find our meeting point were spot on. Highly recommended.
Matt the man from Alaska who guided us was an absolute hoot as well as full of facts about the history of Osaka which we loved particularly during WW2. He knows his stuff studying Japanese history in depth, being married and living in Japan for many years, he is passionate about the place. We loved that. Make sure you can ride a bike and have a bit of fitness, not too much but it helps. We thoroughly enjoyed this bike ride. If its Winter dress warm people, over 6 hrs, the temp varies and you need to keep warm, and the bikes are really good quality touring bikes . Happy NY Bike Osaka.
I joined a cycling tour around Osaka led by Peter and it delivered exactly what I wanted. Access to backstreets most visitors miss and a mix of local snacks that added some welcome variety. The route balanced major sights with smaller historical spots, temples, shrines, and Peter’s explanations made the city’s history easy to grasp without turning the tour into a lecture. He gave me plenty of time to tour around the spots we visited. The pacing was steady and the bikes were in good condition. If you want a way to see a broad cross-section of Osaka in a single tour this tour is a solid choice.
Had a great day riding around Osaka with Takuma. Saw many different areas completing a loop of about 20km, riding at a leisurely pace. The sushi lunch that was included was delicious.
While this tour aimed to hit highlights of the city, we made some stops that likely could have been removed to spend more time at others. The main reason Id say this tour was average was due to our guide. We biked through some congested areas, and our guide was zipping through so quickly that we often had guests fall way behind as theyd get stuck behind traffic lights. While it was interesting to hear about Japan's history, it became a bit awkward with the amount of times the guide mentioned America brainwashed the locals post WWII. Given the number of Americans in the group, it made for an uncomfortable environment when it kept coming up. Though our guide would ask if there were any questions, when questions were asked he could be a bit dismissive, which resulted in no one asking anything by the end. By the time we hit the end of the tour, I was ready to be done and out of that environment. I do a lot of bike tours when I travel, and I have to say this one was disappointing. Its likely that since our guide is only a part time employee he isnt as "aware," but overall it felt more like a chore trying to keep up with the guide than it did exploring the city.
Great day in Osaka - a day trip on bikes, visiting the major sites, pedaling through the back streets, stopping for lunch at Kura 5 with the food train. Our guide Mayco was terrific, solid knowledge of sites and kept us safe We steered clear of big crowds and areas not suited to bikes. Around 23 km all up - very safe and easy route.
The route we took was very interesting especially the small back streets but also some.historical sites. Matt, our guide, was very knowledgeable & easy to get along with .
I love doing bike tours the first day or so in a city. Its a great way to get a lay of the land for the rest of the trip and this one is no different. Our tour guide was very informative and took us to many of the key areas of the city. Would highly recommend
Matt was a terrific tour guide. He’s an American who has lived in Japan for at least 15 years. He’s a Historian and a theatre guy- a perfect combination for this. He was great at accommodating bikers at different skill and strength levels. Also he’s pretty funny and just a bit irreverent.
Could not have been a better introduction to Osaka. Guide Matt combines long experience in Osaka with deep historical knowledge. The mechanics of the tour were flawless. Although the tour lasted about 5 hours, it was much less in actual biking, and much more in getting entertaining stories and history lessons from Matt.
Great way to see Osaka in one day! Tour guide Matt was informative about local culture and history and biking was a fun way to cover and get a feel for the whole city quickly. Lunch place was fantastic (one of the highlights) and biking was a perfect pace and hit all of the city highlights. Would highly recommend!
Great way to see some of the city highlights. Excellent guide, fun route and well planned stops. Loved every minute of it
It was a wet and gloomy day in Osaka but my bike tour went ahead regardless and it was so much fun! Grabbed a cheap waterproof poncho from 7-11 and that was all I needed to enjoy this tour regardless of the weather. Our guide was knowledgeable and great company. She clearly loves this city and enjoys sharing her local knowledge with guests. Thankyou!! 25km clocked up over the day but lots of breaks for snacks, drinks and lunch fueled me perfectly!
Very pleasant and interesting bike tour of Osaka. Mayco was a very knowledgeable and funny guide. The tour includes all the best spots and views, and the lunch break was very good. Would definitely recommend!
Joel was awesome! It was extremely hot, and he was very attentive to the group's welfare. The tour was thorough and interesting. The bike ride was mostly flat and easy. 100% recommend!
