They are very good at their job! the host are amazing
Very good teaching and experience. Recommended!
This was a fun and energetic experience. The staff was very friendly and have a lot of good energy that makes everything feel less intimidating. They have good safety measures in place and the process is very simple and forgiving. This is something everyone should do if you’re ever in Osaka
This was such a cool experience! Osaka is famous for its knives and it’s such a special experience to get to make your own. Lisa and the whole twam was very knowledgeable and friendly and guided us through every step of sharpening the knife and how to write our chosen phrases in kanji. I would recommend this to anyone going throigh Osaka.
Great experience to learn about history of Japanese Knifes and sharpening technique.
The guides were super friendly and very helpful. Instructions were very clear and all the materials were well laid out. You could tell they had prepared very well, and made the experience super fun.
I went with my wife and the process was very fun. It was a bit of a challenge to find that the location was on the 2nd floor. Our guide Arata was very personable and made the experience! We both upgraded our knives as we didn’t own a vegetable cleaver. There was a lot of good information that will be helpful for taking care of the knives and well as buying some more at a local shop. Note, the knives are carbon steel, not stainless steel, so they require a bit more care
Matt was great! We learned so much about the history of knives and Osaka. Awesome class and new skills learned! Thank you!
Highly recommended! Very intresting and fun.
Was fun. The instructors were great.
Great experience learnt the history behind the knives and the different variations and purposes they use each one for. Our guide has very good English and she made it fun would definitely recommend to everyone
The guides where very nice and helpful. They help you with the sharpening of the blade and engraving of the handle
Very enthusiastic guides, A very learn full interesting experience
Fantastic hands-on experience! The BAC knife-making class was a great introduction to Japanese craftsmanship. My instructor Nako was knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming, and the whole experience was both fun and rewarding. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique, authentic experience in Osaka!
If I could rate this experience higher than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Taking this knife sharpening course in Osaka was easily one of the highlights of my entire trip. The host was exceptionally friendly, patient, and welcoming from start to finish. I learned so much about traditional sharpening techniques, blade care, and proper angles—the hands-on guidance was top-tier. On top of all the amazing skills I picked up, I also walked away with an incredible, high-quality knife that I will cherish forever. Everything about this workshop was 10/10. I cannot recommend it enough to anyone visiting Osaka!
Really enjoyed the class. Matt was great, both learned about Japanese knives and sharpened and put a custom handle on our own knife. Definitely a fun workshop!
Such a fun and interesting way to spend a few hours and learn how much effort is needed to sharpen these special knives.
Was a fun experience and learnt how to sharpen a knife on a wet stone. Also got to engrave something on the handle.
Excellent class, thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone I know visiting the area
Outstanding experience, history on knife making was exceptional. Staff was friendly helpful and very engaged to make the whole process fun. Thx Jerry D. Houston, Texas

So much fun! Our instructor, Nako, was so sweet and very great at explaining the process to us. We also got a brief history on knife making in Japan. Highly recommend and an awesome souvenir to take home!
The guide was great, and we enjoyed so much!
A great activity to do with your significant other, especially if you love to cook! Very informative and fun
Amazing experience! Everything was excellent, and the staff were friendly and professional. The price is very reasonable for what they offer. Highly recommended!
Arata and Lisa were our guides. A great experience to learn about knives and Osaka. A beautiful handmade blade to take back home and remember this place daily. Thank You Very Much. ARIGATO GOZAIMASU
Overall, this was an okay experience, but I think it is important for future participants to understand exactly what they are signing up for. First, be prepared to put in some physical work! You will actually be sharpening the knife yourself, which requires repetitive arm movements and a bit of effort. Consider it a mild arm workout! Second, manage your expectations regarding the finished product. While you will leave with a knife you helped sharpen and personalize, it may not necessarily be the aesthetically beautiful, finely crafted Japanese knife you envision bringing home as a special souvenir. If you are looking for an elegant, high-quality Japanese knife to give as a gift or add to your collection, I would still recommend visiting a reputable knife shop while in Japan. That said, the instructors were absolutely wonderful! They were friendly, engaging, and made the experience enjoyable. Their enthusiasm and hospitality were definitely the highlights of the activity. Ultimately, this is better suited for someone interested in a hands-on cultural experience rather than someone expecting to create a beautifully finished Japanese knife. I appreciated the opportunity to participate, but I would encourage others to approach the experience with realistic expectations.
This place is awesome my wife and i had a blast!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We had a wonderful experience. Everyone is very kind, respectful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities are very clean and the location was easy to find. It was great that everyone spoke English. We learned a lot and look forward to taking our knives home for use.

Very friendly staff. Fun activity to do while visiting. Would recommend.
Great, personalised experience. Would recommend highly to other tourists that enjoy cooking and want to take home a memory and souvenir from Japan. They allowed me to engrave the knife handle myself. Matt and Lisa were great. I really enjoyed this.
