You choose your own shellfish and use a butter knife to open it, so anyone from children to adults, regardless of age or gender, can easily extract and enjoy the pearls. Pearls have unique characteristics and come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. It is also possible to process the one-of-a-kind pearls into accessories! The pearl extraction experience was definitely one of a kind experience in Japan. Not only do you get to choose your clam and get your pearl but they can customize it to what kind of accessory you want.
Its one of the experiences that I would never think that I will do it. I also think it will take like more than an hour to extract it, but its turn out pretty fast. I got pink pearl which is so beautiful, I didn't turn it in to jewelry because I dont think I'm gonna use it and I dont think I'm gonna give it to somebody, so I just let it as it is. The store clerk is really nice person and fun to talk with. The store is also comfy and you can also buy some clothing in there. If you have a time and wanted a realy nice souvenir or jewelry specially in a pearl which you take it by your own hand, this store is recommended.

I had such a wonderful and memorable experience extracting my own pearl at Angel Pearl in Shinsaibashi! The activity was fun, interactive, and surprisingly exciting, especially when I finally opened the oyster and discovered my pearl inside. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout the entire experience, making everything easy and enjoyable. I also loved being able to turn the pearl into a personalized piece of jewelry that I could take home as a special souvenir. It’s a unique experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Shinsaibashi, especially couples, families, or friends looking for something different to do in Osaka. An absolutely wonderful and unique experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile by the shop's owner, who made us feel right at home with their kind, jolly personality. The entire process of shucking our own oysters and discovering the hidden pearls inside was incredibly fun and interactive. The atmosphere was so lively and welcoming! My cousin ended up getting a gorgeous ring set with the pearl she extracted, and I bought some beautiful jewelry accessories as well. Overall, it was a highly satisfying and memorable experience. Extracting our own pearls was such a special activity. Hajime-san was a fantastic staff who clearly explained the entire extraction process step-by-step. The absolute highlight was the mystery—you have no idea what color or shape your pearl will be until you open the oyster, which makes the reveal so exciting! Afterward, there were plenty of setting options to choose from depending on your style, including necklaces, rings, earrings, and keychains. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend it to everyone!

It was so fun that I got to do this pearl extraction experience! 🦪 Firstly, Ms. Honda, the shops staff, was so friendly and sweet. She explained to us how the quality of natural pearls from Mie which was retrieved by the famous Amma divers. It was so exciting finding the pearl in the oyster and knowing its size! Some are lucky to get the big ones and others not so with a small one, but all in all, the experience was so fun! You can turn your pearl into an accessory or a keychain so you can take it home with you as a precious and memorable souvenir from Japan!

So nice and adorable 🥰😂 We really enjoyed chatting with her and she made the whole experience feel even more fun and relaxed. I also really liked how smooth and quick everything was. Some workshops and activities in Japan can take half a day or even a whole day, but this was something we could easily fit into our trip while still having a fun and memorable experience. The pearl extraction itself was really exciting because you choose an Akoya pearl oyster without knowing what kind of pearl you'll find inside, and then you get to open it and discover the pearl yourself. Knowing that Akoya pearls are such a special part of Mie’s Ise-Shima area made the experience even more interesting. I also loved that you can turn your pearl into an actual accessory afterward, which makes it feel much more personal than just buying a souvenir. Overall, it was such a fun little experience and a unique way to enjoy a small piece of Mie’s pearl culture. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and different to do in Japan!
💍 Such a fun and unique experience in Osaka! We enjoyed extracting our own Akoya pearl and guessing what color and size we would get. I got an 8mm white pearl, which was a nice surprise! The store is beautiful, and the staff were very kind and patient with us. There are also many options to turn your pearl into jewelry. I personally think a bracelet or anklet would look really cool, especially for men. We also enjoyed coloring the oyster shells they gave us as omiyage. Definitely a fun experience that I’d recommend to family and friends! 🦪✨
This is a must visit store if you want to experience “harvesting” a pearl which you want to turn into a precious souvenir or memento of you trip to Japan in general or Osaka in particular. All the materials you need, such as the tweezers, knife, gloves, and plate where you put your pearl are ready. The staff’s instructions in English are also prepared in advance, in case you are not confident with your Japanese language skills. The most exciting part is when you get to experience first-hand opening the oyster shell, looking for your pearl from the oyster meat, and finally cleaning off your Akoya pearl before placing it on the shell-shaped plate. I got a yellowish pearl, which, according to the color guide, means “good luck”. The staff also measured the size of my pearl, which turned out to be around 7mm and costs about ¥7,000! You have the option to bring it home as is or have it turned into a pendant of an accessory such as necklace, earring, or bracelet for an additional cost. As a bonus souvenir, I also decorated one oyster shell with a coconut tree because I am craving coconut water and coconut meat! Angel Pearl is located approximately 5 minutes away from Shinsaibashi Station on foot. Nearby spots for both local and international tourists are American Village, Shinsaibashi shopping streets, and Dotonbori.

Went at 10:45am decided to go get something to eat came back at 11:17am and they were closed for the rest of the day. We checked back 4 separate times til 4pm.

This was a nice interlude for an extra day in Osaka. Located in shinsaibashi area, very close to the Shinsaibashi-suji shopping mall, this is a nice thing to do on a hot day ( or any day really). Small shop with friendly staff, we chose our oysters and were able to open with a plastic knife (so no danger for kids etc). Located our pearls and then were able to choose jewellery to mount it in if we wanted. My son loved doing this and the necklace and ring are really nice. If you want more pearls, you can just ask and open more oysters (cost extra per oyster)

Pretty unique experience we did on a lark, very last minute. I’m a metalsmith/jeweler and I thought this would be a great idea to bring home as a souvenir and then fashion as a jewelry piece for myself. If you don’t have those skills you can make something in the shop as an option for a bit extra. The hostess was very polite and friendly and the experience was quite fun for my husband and myself. Bonus: I get to keep his pearl too! Very fun!!
