Great way to cover areas of Osaka not in your typical travel guide’s top 10, on a bike, and having the knowledgeable guide (Peter and Momo in our case) pick great places to try traditional Osaka dishes but also getting to try things normally served in places like Korea. Loved it!

Meeting at our comfortable riverside shop, you’ll be greeted by your guide and set up with a quick bike fitting before heading out on a relaxed culinary ride through Osaka.
We begin with an easy cruise along the river, passing Osaka Castle for a quick picture, before venturing into the city’s more characterful neighborhoods to kick off our foodie adventure.
Get off your bike for a tour of Osaka's vibrant Tsuruhashi Koreatown and discover fascinating blend of Japanese and Korean cultures, people and most importantly food!
Along the rest of our trip, you’ll visit up to three other carefully selected food stops. Our guides will chose the exact neighbourhoods and restaurants based on what’s open, fresh, and most delicious! From street snacks to local favorites, each stop highlights the variety and energy that define Osaka’s food culture. Between tastings, you’ll cycle through a mix of lively streets, hidden back alleys, and some of our favorite local neighborhoods—places most visitors never get to see.

My family (2 adults, 2 teens) had a great time on the Cycle/Foodie tour. It was raining when we first arrived but we couldn’t pass up this experience! Lee was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, he answered all of my questions about the city, living in Japan, and restaurant etiquette. We had a beautiful view of Osaka Castle and went into Korea town, too. The bikes were great, easy to ride, and we never rode more than 15-20 minutes before stopping again. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
Wonderful guide and great food! Loved Peter’s commitment to make sure we were comfortable, well fed with delicious local food and a safe ride thru the big city.
We really enjoyed cycling around the city! All the food was excellent, and we tried some things we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Meiko was a great guide, very knowledgeable.
Moe was great and patient with us and our limited cycling experience. He took us to some great local spots
We had such a fun time. Mo was very patient with us not having the best bicycle skills. He made us feel safe and took us to some excellent food spots. We took some great pictures along the way. It was a completely different and fun way to see the city of Osaka!
We had such a lovely time! Lee was a spontaneous and funny guide. He told us a lot about Japanse culture and Osaka food. He brought us to a couple of amazing places with different kinds of food. Even with the hot temperature it was above expectations. We would recommend this experience.
Mayco was an excellent guide and she did a great job! Her directions while riding were very clear, and the spots where we stopped to eat were delicious! Highly recommend this excursion. FYI, I’m not a cyclist and I was able to make the ride with little effort. Mostly flat streets, except near the Osaka Castle—but still able to power through.
Great tour! We covered a lot of the city and had great food at several stops along the way. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to see more of Osaka than you can by foot. The guide was very informative and fun.
I went on this tour with my husband and teenage son and all of us loved it. Matt was a great guide - he really seems to love what he does. He was very knowledgeable and adapted the tour based on our specific group. We were a small group and were able to do an even longer route. The food stops were hand chosen by Matt and were all excellent. In addition to getting good exercise, we felt like we saw a lot of Osaka, including spots we wouldn’t have come across otherwise. This was a great way to see the city and get some great food while you’re at it. Highly recommend!
Joel was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and great with my 11 year old son’s questions. We saw so much and we were able to start our trip with key knowledge. He had great restaurants to recommend as well. A highlight of our trip was when an elderly Japanese women came over to say hello to us, she was curious about our family, and we had a lovely conversation.
This was a geat experience. Lee, was a fountain of information and no question went unanswered. I loved the ease of the bike and how easy they were to use. Loved the crumbed croquette and this was a great start, good advice about the bread shops across Japan. The stop in Korean town made our day and the food was outstanding. The last stop at Ponpocotel was amazing. Thankou for letting us taste new food and drinks. I would recommend this.
I went on this tour with three friends and was a simply wonderful tour and a highlight of our trip! Our incredible and intrepid tour guide Lee made it such a fantastic experience from start to finish. Easy, open, and full of humor, he made our day fun and flexible. It was such a great way to see the city, eat some truly fantastic food (we were stuffed by the end), and find scrumptious local spots. Thank you Cycle Osaka for such a fun day!
We love bike tours and we love food tours, so this combo was fantastic for our family! Great way to see several neighborhoods in Osaka along with the castle. The food tastings were all great, and there was a ton of food. Highly recommend.
Cruising Osaka and eating We had a great food cycle tour with Lee. An American who lives already for 30 years in Japan. After we are a nice pastry in the park we did a little stroll through the Korean Market. Small dishes in a small eatery. The to a restaurant that cook the meat on charcoles on your table. Very tasty. Lee knows a lot about Osaka and is entertaining. Very good bicycles! When in Osaka go cycle with Lee!
This bike tour was perfect. The weather was good. The food was good. And even the people were good! hahaha
We appreciated the small group experience, with only one other group, it made for a pretty intimate, nice time and it was nice to get to know the other couple on the tour. Our tour guide and the food was great. We went on quite a few food tour groups while in Japan. We appreciated that we didn't leave 'uncomfortably stuffed' like some of the other groups we did. I was a bit disappointed that it was just an 'out and back' bike route, I was hoping to see more of the area on the bike. Also, the bikes weren't in the best shape. The brakes on mine needed servicing. Seemed like the rotor was bent or the pads needed replacing. The bike shook while braking.
We really enjoyed our bike tour with Peter. We had a nice, small group of 5 with us included, and had a lot of great food at I believe 5 different places in the end. Peter was knowledgeable and a fun guide, and he was well prepared with a first aid kit in case it was needed. We had a great day out and got to explore areas of Osaka we otherwise would not have visited. We highly recommend this tour on your first day(s) in the city, so you have a good baseline knowledge of what Osaka has to offer.
Really good value for money. Joel was an excellent guide, and we got to try a lot of different food and see plenty of parts of Osaka
A lovely tour around bustling Osaka which included two stops for food. I regretted not buying an Osaka Cycle T-shirt and contacted them from Tokyo. They had one sent to me at my Tokyo Hotel and it arrived the next day. Super friendly and helpful.
The Osaka cycle street food tour with Danek was a fantastic experience! He was friendly and informative, bringing the city’s history and landmarks to life between delicious food stops. I loved how the tour balanced tasty local eats with fascinating sightseeing—the perfect mix of culture and flavor. Cycling turned out to be an amazing way to explore this sprawling city beyond the usual crowds. Highly recommended!
Excellent biking tour through Osaka. The bikes were easy to use and they had multiple sizes available as well as helmets. Osaka is mostly flat so the ride was easy also. All the food was delicious and we received lots of recommendations from our guide Mako for other restaurants to eat at.
No was a great guide and it’s an easy way to get around Osaka well done! Interesting food stops especially the donuts. Well recommended
Eric’s afternoon tour of Osaka was an absolute blast. He introduced me to some of my new favorite treats, including curry doughnuts, and showed me around the city. Eric was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, answering all my questions and introducing me to new foods. He even recommended some great Japanese music artists, which filled my ears as I continued exploring the city after the tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about Japanese cuisine or simply looking for a fun afternoon adventure with a local expat. Don’t hesitate to ask Eric for recommendations of things to do after the tour!
We had a great time thanks to Cycle Osaka and Mayco. Mayco is very knowledgable and funny so great company. We were able to do some sightseeing and had fantastic food. We highly recommend booking a tour with Cycle Osaka!!!
Great trip with a friendly Guide Very pleased they ran this tour with only the 2 of us and didn’t cancel the trip Tasty Food with informative information and we saw a lot of sites we wouldn’t have naturally seen
Had an awesome time and Eric was a really fun tour guide. Thoroughly enjoyed this one and highly recommend.
Great tour of local eats and not the tourist traps! Guide is very knowledgeable and had great recommendations to share!
I loved this tour. Some of the best food we had in 2 weeks in Japan! Super friendly host who took pictures for us as well as providing lots of information on local culture and cuisine. The biking is a great way to get around and not too strenuous.
If you’re wondering about which bike tour to do, do this one. Joel was an incredible guide who has a profound way of telling stories. From the history and culture of Japan to his own experiences, the tour was a lovely mix of learning and eating. The bikes were also wonderful quality. Can’t recommend this experience enough.
Subject: Disappointment with Reservation Cancellation OSAKA STREET FOOD, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the cancellation of my reservation for the Osaka Street Food class. While I understand that cancellations can occur, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the service I received. Travel Commitment: As a customer who traveled halfway around the world, I had high expectations for my experience. However, the last-minute cancellation left me feeling unvalued and frustrated, particularly given the effort and planning that went into my trip. Lack of Alternatives: I was disappointed by the lack of commitment to offer a functional alternative or solution that would accommodate my situation. This lack of consideration for dedicated customers reflects poorly on your service standards. Reputation vs. Reality: While I have heard glowing reviews about your classes, my personal experience has not aligned with that reputation. It’s in the details of customer service that true quality is revealed, and I am afraid your establishment did not meet those expectations in my case. Given this experience, I will probably turn to platforms like YouTube to learn more about Osaka's street food culture and cooking techniques instead. Thank you for considering my feedback. Sincerely. Manuel J Colon Mendez, MD, MPH
Fun fun fun. Good way to see the highlights of Osaka. Make sure you have good bicycle skills as you will be navigating around cars and people. Will be back.
Had a great time with Erik our guide. My husband and I are older but love to bike, we requested e-bikes (because we weren’t sure about the terrain) and the tour was a breeze! We tried great food and had a relaxed day cycling thru Osaka!! He showed us hidden gems throughout the tour! Would definitively recommend this experience.
Joel was very easy company and the food he chose was delicious and plentiful. Biking between eating stops made the eating tour more interesting and it was very easy cycling that is suitable for anyone confident on a bike. Thanks Joel.
This was a great combination of biking, touring, and eating! Ruben took us to several awesome eateries. Had time to wander around a shopping area. And still had energy to pedal back!
It was super cool learning about Osaka from a native. There were little tidbits that you would never get without that touch. The bikes were solid and well maintained and the route was easy.
We spent a lunch bike tour with Peter who was easy-going and patient while we adjusted our bikes for the ride. We visited a Korea Town to check out some Korean-influenced Japanese cuisine. We first tried a Korean grill where you cooked your meats and veggies at the table. There was no seafood for those who are pescatarian, but there were enough cut vegetables for non-meat eaters. We then went to a couple of street facing food stalls that sold savory pancakes where we could taste Korean and Japanese versions. We stopped by a Takoyaki vendor to watch him make the Tako balls, later we stopped by a micro park to snack on them. The foods were tasty and hit the spot for full lunch. We ended the tour by visiting the Osaka Castle park and enjoying the beautiful landscaping the park before returning to our starting point.
We booked this tour for our first full day in Osaka. What a great way to see part of the city and try so much food. Our guide, Mayco, was super friendly and welcoming, and showed us some great places to eat all while telling us some history and answering our questions about Osaka and Japan. The bikes were comfortable and the pace was great, as we could enjoy our surroundings but never felt like we were cycling slowly. Thanks again, Mayco!!
Our tour guide Peter was very friendly, informative and helpful. Would highly recommend this experience.
Our guide Peter had put together a great mix of sight seeing and local foods that absolutely did not disappoint. We were able to bike around Osaka Castle, stop by the Japanese Mint building and visit Korea town all while buring calories in persuit of the next delicious stomach stuffing stop. This tour had us sample many of the foods a local of Osaka would be likely to enjoy during day to day life in the city. Peter kept the mood calm and easy going which was very appreciated. He taught us a bit about biking in Japan and in the city of Osaka all while introducing us to foods we would never have thought to try while visiting. A cycling food tour is a great way to cover lots of ground and expel energy to combat the amount of food you'll enjoy in a 4 hour stretch. As for any food tour, come hungry!
I found the pacing and the energy of this tour to be perfect, and I appreciated the route Joel chose since we got to see some sights on the way to our food stops. He had lots of insider tips and recommendations for restaurants to try, so I would suggest doing a tour like this early in your stay so you can take advantage of his recommendations. My only critique would be that the price per person didn't totally feel represented by the food. Much of what we ate was street food which, although delicious, didn't seem to match the pricetag of the tour. Despite that, we still had a great time!
The Tour with Matt was awesome! We had a lot of delicious food, good conversations and some insider information. Absolute recommendation if you like cycling & food! We loved it :)
It was nice to see areas around Osaka castle. Tried many different foods, would have liked to have ended with a little dessert, but overall was fun! A bit pricey, but the other family we travelled with made our time great! Thank you Eric for taking us around!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This bike tour in Osaka was absolutely fantastic! Our guide was lively, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. She had such a great way of sharing Osaka’s history and culture while keeping the ride fun and relaxed. Since it was a hot day, she thoughtfully adjusted our route to keep us in the shade as much as possible, which made the ride very comfortable. The food stops were perfectly balanced — not too much, not too little — and each snack came with a story that added so much depth. From traditional bites to unique flavors, the variety gave us a real taste of Osaka’s culinary heritage. If you want to cover a lot of ground, see the city from a local perspective, and enjoy being treated to delicious snacks paired with history lessons, I couldn’t recommend this tour more. A must-do for anyone visiting Osaka!
Fun day! Peter was great. We learned a lot about Osaka and a lot about food beyond sushi! I was stuffed by the end!!
In spite of the incredible heat (and my great age!) we thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Mainly thanks to Yukji. He took us to local little food stops to sample the different types of food in Osaka and we almost felt like the locals. I was a little nervous about cycling on the roads but at every stage of the tour I felt very safe and comfortable. Yuki was fun to be with and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour and Yuki of course. Oh except maybe to have 'ladies' seats on the bicycle as it had been about 10 years since I had last ridden a bike and I sure felt it the next day,
We took this bike tour in the hottest month of the year but I would do it again. Our tour guide was absolutely wonderful. She was informative and patient. The spots we stopped to eat at and her recommendations were top notch. We were able to try melon bread and curry bread. I’m not sure which was my favorite. Then we were off to Korea town where we tried Korean pancake and sushi. This sushi was life changing for us. She had us try fatty tuna, baby onion, some pickle and crab combo (dynamite) and lastly a salmon and seared cheese delight. Days later we are still talking about this adventure. Highly recommend to anyone who will be in Osaka.
Joel was outstanding tour guide with indepth descriptions of Japanese culture provided in easy to understand English. And great food. Fun way to see Osaka.
So fun bicycling through downtown Osaka! Tour guide Yuki was knowledgeable and friendly. Delicious sushi, udon noodles and other goodies. First rate!
This is a great way to see the city in a very casual bike ride. The food was delicious and our guide was very knowledgeable and fun.
