We had a fantastic time making Japanese curry with Yuka! She was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us a lovely tour of the local area before the class. We learned loads, had a lot of fun, and would highly recommend the experience!
Yuki’s Japanese Cooking Class was one of the best experiences of our 3 week trip to Japan. She was extremely accommodating and made herself available for our schedule. We really enjoyed the shops she showed us prior to starting the hands on class. The class itself was both informational and fun. We will definitely prepare the Osaka speciality dish we learned how to make for our foodie friends back home.
Had a wonderful morning on Yuka's okonomiyaki cooking class, first we explored shops in the area which would never have discovered without he local knowledge. She also took us to the BEST coffee shop in Osaka (possibly Japan). Then back to base to learn about okonomiyaki and start preparation, cooked and ate this delicious local meal! Yuka is an absolute treasure and I can't recommend her classes enough. We're planning to go back for Yuka's Ramen class!
Yuka and Erika are so lovely to learn from! It was an amazing cooking class! Would defend recommend
My Daughter: “Yuka was very warm and friendly. Very accommodating. Attending her cooking class made our Japan trip unforgettable. I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you so much, Yuka.” Me: “It was an honour to be invited inside Yuka’s kitchen. The classes and processes were methodical yet genial and straightforward. The tours were an eye-opener, the new information she gave us about Japan’s culture, the shrine, about miso, sesame seeds, Japanese plums, and even the ancient apothecary were extraordinary. Thank you very much, Yuka.”
Amazing experience!! Our host Yuka was so lovely and knowledgeable and even showed us round her favourite shops in the area! The Katsu curry we all made was sooo good, would recommend for solos or groups!!
Before the cooking class, our instructor Luka took us to some local shops and I bought plum wine, and different sesame seeds for cooking and flavor. The instructions for making ramen broth and gyoza were easy to follow and a lot of fun! If you want to do something chill and still learn about Japanese culture, then you should take a cooking class.

A fantastic cooking class, started with a tour of the local shops and shrine with samples from the local shopkeepers. Really well explained and lovely to see some authentic local business, we actually went back and did some shopping at some after! The cooking itself was easy to follow and Yuka-san was amazing, so lovely and helpful. We made delicious gyoza and ramen. Yuka is an excellent guide and the kitchen was clean and organized. Great for family with teens.
We had a great time cooking curry and katsu family style. We learned how to change the flavor profile using many different ingredients. Had no idea to add chocolate or coffee to curry before! We also got to checkout a temple and several local stores selling plums, sesame, and donuts stuffed with beans and among other things. Thank you for a great time in Osaka!
Really fun activity to get away from the heat and the big crowds, learn about Japanese culinary culture and get a great lunch out of it!

Yuka’s cooking class was so much fun. We started by meeting at the local shrine where she told us the history of the shrine and then the local area. She takes you to the local shops and shows you traditional ingredients used for Japanese cooking. Her kitchen is very homely, we made bento boxes and had a lot of fun making them looking really cute and decorative. We learned a lot. Yuka has a lot of recommendations for places to visit, see and eat which was also really helpful.
