The scenery was absolutely spectacular. even though the round trip time was difficult. The cable car scared me to death! but I'm so glad it I went

Itinerary
Depart at 08:40 from the meeting point and begin your scenic journey toward the northern coast of Kyoto, where mountains, coastline, and traditional landscapes come together in one of Japan’s most iconic regions. As you leave the city behind, enjoy a peaceful drive through changing scenery that gradually opens into coastal views and countryside charm.
Depart at 09:50 from Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit, in front of the Station Sightseeing Bus Parking Area. Meet your guide and begin your scenic journey toward the northern coastal region of Kyoto, where the city gradually gives way to mountains, rivers, and coastal landscapes. Settle in and enjoy the changing scenery as you leave the urban area behind and head toward one of Japan’s most iconic coastal destinations.
Arrive at Amanohashidate around 11:20 and spend approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes exploring one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views. This extraordinary sandbar, covered with thousands of pine trees, stretches across the sea like a natural bridge between heaven and earth. A popular local tradition is to view the scenery upside down by bending forward and looking through your legs, creating a unique and playful perspective of this famous landscape. During your visit, you may take the ropeway or monorail up to Amanohashidate View Land (ticket not included, approx. JPY 1000) for a panoramic observation of the sandbar and surrounding bay, where the landscape resembles a dragon ascending into the sky. You will also have time to explore Chionji Temple nearby, known for its peaceful atmosphere and cultural significance. Lunch is at your own expense, allowing you to choose from local restaurants at your own pace.
Begin your visit with Chion-ji Temple, known for its connection to academic success and peaceful atmosphere. Admire the impressive temple gate and experience the unique fan-shaped omikuji (fortune-telling papers), a popular cultural highlight among visitors. You may also observe the nearby rotating bridge mechanism that allows large ships to pass through, adding an interesting engineering touch to the scenic area.
Continue your journey to Ine Fishing Village around 14:30, where you will spend approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes discovering one of Japan’s most unique coastal communities. This traditional village is famous for its “funaya” boathouses, built directly along the water, creating a rare and picturesque harmony between daily life and the sea. Stroll along the quiet waterfront and experience the calm, nostalgic atmosphere of this hidden gem, where wooden houses reflect beautifully on the bay. Optional ferry tickets are available (Adults JPY 1200 / Children JPY 600), offering a closer view of the boathouses from the water, along with seagull feeding experiences (JPY 100 per bag). If ferry operations are suspended due to weather conditions, a relaxed walking experience in the village will be provided instead, ensuring you still enjoy the scenery from land.
After a full day exploring Amanohashidate’s legendary views and Ine’s peaceful seaside village, begin your return journey around 18:00. Sit back and relax as you travel back through the scenic landscapes of Kyoto’s northern region, concluding a day filled with iconic views, cultural charm, and unforgettable coastal beauty. This activity ends back at the meeting points.

The trip itself is nice, and the view is splined. my low rate was about the tip organise. the departing time was very very very late, the bus came from Osaka to Kyoto where I book it. the pick up meant to be around 10 am. bus arrived around 11:07 and we depart around 11:30am. half the day got wasted. when we arrived to the fist location was around 12:30 waited in queue around 20min under the heat to catch the cable car. was so hot there. then running quickly to look photo then go down to explore the rest of the area. I think they know it's was a public holiday and was a hot day, they should start the trip at 7:30 if or 8 am to avoid the traffic. the rest of the schedule was rushed fast, and since the dropping point for me was to return back to Osaka we ended up returning late. I was very exhausted tried to find my new hotel and do a very late check in. the tour guide Jay was nice, but his voice was too low, he should've seated us according the the language speaking since more than half the bus was Chines, at leas he can talk in English so we can hear the information, then move to where the Chines people sitting and give them the information they need in there language. I saw this with other guide who place us according to the language. He put me in a seat where a lady with her baby who my place. so had no where to go except sitting at the very back. anyway I didn't find the tour organised. but the area and the view was very nice. could be way better organise if they get the timing right, at least we could've avoid the delay, heat, the queue and late arrival.
Was very long drive and the views were great but there wasn’t much to do at each stop. The guide spoke fluent chinese but his english was very hard to understand Would suit couples rather than families
Jay our tour guide was very knowledgable and funny, he was sure everyone understood timings and meeting places. Both places we visited were incredibly picturesque and beautiful. I fully recommend this tour
Waited over a hour tour bus still didnt come. Very disappointing with no communication or reply to emails or calls.
We picked the tour up in Kyoto. Coach was very comfortable. All but four of us were Asian and the guide spoke to them in Mandarin, however, an English speaking guide was provided for us. Stephen was great and looked after us for the journey. Tour was worth the price and I recommend choosing the option with boat and chairlift included as we found this much easier. I would have liked a little more time in Amanohashidat as we didn’t get to walk on the sandbar. It’s a long day but all in all we enjoyed it.
Long travel time from Osaka and back otherwise very nice destinations. Staff provided some insight to the destinations
Had a wonderful time exploring. Our giude continously checking us and updates Thank you and surely recommend this tour.
Liu was a great guide and the trip was great. He was very knowledgeable about where we were going and where to go and gave clear directions about meeting times etc. He made the trip even better
It was super fun, and our tour guide Naomi was amazing. She is a great photographer too. A tour you don’t have to pass!
Great tour. Nice bus, cool location, fishing village was interesting, boat tour was really cool, espeically all the birds we saw. You should book this!
This was a great day out, stunning scenery and beautiful places to visit, both Amanohashidate and Ine. Jay our tour guide was both informative and comical. Would recommend this day trip to anyone. A must see area of Japan.
Mr Jay is very professional, acknowledgeable and humorous tour guide. Very friendly and gives alot of tips regarding the tour.
This trip is actually organised by Gogoday Travel. We went on this day trip a day before the end of our stay in Japan. So glad we did ! Jay was so funny without trying all while telling us what we are about to see and more. It was our most enjoyable day in Japan. The scenery was breathtaking and tranquil. The time at each sight was just right. Great levels of engagement - taking the chair lift, riding the bike, walking the sand bar, feeding gulls.
A long day filled with interesting scenery and experiences. Frederick was a sweet and funny guide. The stops were very beautiful and the birds (especially the hawks) was awesome. Its a long time spent on a bus is the only downside.
Horrible excursión. The microphone on the bus did not work. The tour guide didn’t speak English very well. And the tour consist of just being dropped off at each stop and no explanation of the area or history. Tour guides are supposed explain to you about the temple and the history of it especially since everything is in Japanese. I will never book with this company again. Angie B
Our guide was Andrew and he was excellent! Andrew was informative, personable, spoke good English and extremely positive and happy! He gave us information about Japan and the places we were going while on the bus, he gave us specific instructions about where to meet and what time, and he gave us recommendations about where to go and what to do at each stop. He also made sure we knew how long we would be on the bus and when we would have restrooms available. It was a bit confusing to find the correct bus at the beginning of the tour because he had communicated with me through WhatsApp and I had failed to look at that. I will now remember to look at messages on WhatsApp for future tours.
It was great experience with LU she is ausome guide .. also she guided us well for food and pics and all the things
The tour ran efficiently, though the initial meetup was a little confusing as there are two pickup points, Osaka and Kyoto. I was in Kyoto, but received a message from the tour operator about the Osaka meetup. The sites were beautiful, but I had trouble understanding the guide’s English. He had an offbeat sense of humor, which was fun. Feeding the birds from the boat wasn’t appealing, and I would have liked to learn more about the local flora and fauna and history. Overall, however, it was a good outing.
We certainly saw a lot on this tour and Jae our guide, was GREAT. Very informative and had a lot of historical background to the locations we stopped at. Amanohashidate stop was worth the trip. Expect about 40-50% of your time in the bus.
This trip was made really memorable as it covered 2 of the most scenic areas of Japan.Amanohashidate is really beautiful and the cable ride was cool.Ine Funaya is a picturesque village and the ferry ride with pigeons and kites hovering around was a unique experience. What however made the trip great was our tour Guide Andrew who was so enthusiastic and regaled and entertained us through out. Thanks Andrew for the great time we had on this tour
A great day trip. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the trip lived up to our expectations. Was also great to meet other travellers. Our guide was very efficient and gave clear instructions about timing and where to go.
