Hugo was a great guide. Picked us up at our hotel and took us to all the top spots in Osaka. He was knowledgeable and told us about daily life and traditions.
Yama did a terrific job guiding us through the amazing Himeji Castle! He was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about the history of the castle. Yama also showed us the Koko-en garden and some very interesting shrines. He helped recommend a delicious lunch for us and overall made the day memorable!

We went on a four hour Private walking tour with guide Ami in Osaka this morning. Ami was very knowledgeable in providing background, history and detailed information about the various sites we visited. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and was so much fun to spend the day with. She showed us many areas and local streets and neighborhoods that we never would have found on our own, which made the day so interesting. All around, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day with Ami which we would highly recommend!

The range of sights on our walking tour was impressive and Hugo gave us an excellent insight into the districts of Osaka we visited and historic facts about the city and famous figures. Hugo was immediately friendly, attentive and personable and gave us a memorable experience of this exciting city. We would recommend his services unreservedly! (There is just one aspect to the presentation of this tour that needs attention but it does not concern the tour guide. It is as follows. We sought a private tour for a half-day that we expected to be like the Viator full day private tour of Tokyo…which involved a private vehicle drive round the city. Unexpectedly, it proved to be a walking tour! There are 3 ways to find this Osaka tour - only 1 of them comes under the heading of “walking tours”. The tour description itself does not contain the word “walking” on the Viator website. The other 2 ways of finding the tour are: (i) via the search under ‘private tours’ on the Viator website, and (ii) on the Tripadvisor website …neither state this a “walking” tour. Please make sure this is clearer in future to help customers decide about choosing the tour?)

Hugo was fantastic. We’d told him that, rather than visit Osaka’s main tourist attractions, we wanted him to tell us about to the city and the people who live there, to learn about the culture and generally see beyond the main sites. And that is exactly what we did. One of the best tours we’ve ever done. Highly recommended.
We chose the 4 hour private tour (10am-2pm) which was the perfect amount of time, and means we had the flexibility to make tour choices on the go rather than being tied to a set route (worth the money!). Our guide, Arnaud, was friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and a pleasure to do the tour with - very convenient and much appreciated to be picked up at our hotel, as well! It was an excellent combination of traditional meets modern, including some lesser visited shrines and active temples, which we loved. The drop off at downtown was perfect to grab something to eat afterwards. Thank you to Arnaud for his guidance and recommendations that we followed up afterwards. Highly recommend!
We had the best time with our tour guide, Hugo! He knew the history of all the places we visited and asked us if there was any particular place we wanted to visit! It was a fun filled day and so worth while having a private tour guide, as there was no way we would have seen so many sites on our own. Hugo sent us a message exactly where and when he would meet us at the cruise terminal. He was flexible with the itinerary so we could fully experience Osaka. He was informative, fun and took great pictures!! Osaka Castle was a surprise in that the park was beautiful and he even taught us a few traditions that we were unaware of at the Shrine. We even saw a couple get engaged in front of the Castle! The Dotombori District is bustling with crowds, restaurants, shopping and history. A walk through the Shinsekai district was eye opening with honest conversations. The Kuromon Market was fun. Hugo was wonderful ordering for us and showing us what is delicious to try! Our final stop was the America Mura, a trendy and lively neighborhood. Hugo really showed us Osaka. His patience, flexibility and wonderful conversation truly made our tour a special day in Osaka.
This was me and my husband’s first time in Osaka and Hugo showed us some great neighborhoods. He took us to some nice historical sites and recommended some fun and quirky local restaurants and bars. He was super friendly and very easy to talk with. He was flexible and accommodating and changed the starting time as we requested and modified the tour to our needs. We loved it and would highly recommend him.

Our guide Arnaud was one of the best in our time in Japan. He answered lots of questions about local customs and history as he showed us around the top spots for our one day in Osaka. Arnaud was flexible and didn't rush us. He showed us some of the back streets and areas we never would have found ourselves. He also found a gluten free restaurant for me to eat at for lunch which was really appreciated. We did the 4 hour tour option.
We traveled by cruise ship and docked in Kobe then travelled to Osaka for the day. Private tour with Hugo for 4 people for the day. He was great. He provided us with an wonderful experience in Osaka taking us to places that we would never had known to go. including a great place in Dontonbori for an unforgettable lunch We to shrines both on and of he beaten path and down little nook and cranny streets that only a local would know ending up, of course, at the most beautiful Osaka castle. He hung with us to ensure or train ride back to Osaka in a somewhat confusing train station...especially so as it was Golden Week and crowds abounded. Great guide to tour Osaka that knows English
We had a great experience touring Osaka with Hugo. He sent an itinerary beforehand and we asked to modify it because we'd already seen some of it the day before. He was more than accommodating, took us to some really cool places we wouldn't have seen otherwise (especially Shinsekai), and enjoyed hearing his commentary about Osaka and Japanese culture. He took us to a great little restaurant too.
Our guide Antoine has been very helpful for us. He explain many things about the sites we visited, the history and culture of Osaka. I will recomand him to my friends when visiting Osaka.

Arnaud was fantastic! He is so sweet, and personable, and gave us a wonderful tour. We had already been to Osaka Castle so he changed the tour to take us to places we hadn't seen. His English is superb and he was careful to accommodate my friend with bad knees by finding elevators and escalators whenever possible. He took us to so many interesting places we would never have found on our own, including the fish market, temples, and shrines. I highly recommend this tour. This was a great tour! Ami was our tour guide and we enjoyed her presentation of sights as well as her flexibility with our schedule. She was very helpful tailoring the tour to our timeframe and interests, which we appreciated. In addition, Ami shared some interesting background information about the Shinto and Buddhist faith. Opted for the 4 hour Osaka Tour and really got a great familiarization with all that Osaka has to offer. Met by our guide Hugo who was amazing and knowledgeable. Great communication leading up to and throughout the tour; Hugo was waiting for us in the lobby and after a brief introduction we were off. We got a nice run down on Osaka’s history and some great recommendations for places to eat and visit. Honestly, 4 hours almost didn’t feel enough and we could have opted for a full day. Pace yourself because it is a lot of walking. We asked to end our tour at Don Quixote and spent the next hour shopping. It was a perfect way to kick off our time in Osaka. Highly recommended.
