So much fun! Went with an 11 and 12 year old and they enjoyed it as well. There was history and trivia about mochi from the kind guides-- Aya, Pari and Haruna. They had us taste mochi rice before we pounded it. The pounding activity was fun with the cheering and of course there was eating. We couldn't finish all we made and wished we could've taken some home :)

So kind and friendly. Just the right amount of information without fluff. Beautiful experience, and our six and ten year olds had a wonderful time. So much fun for grown ups too!
Very interesting experience. We made both Nigiri sushi and Maki sushi during the class. Recommand to family visiters.

Sana and Haruna were incredibly kind and patient, guiding us ang making everything easy to follow, even with our kids joining in, and were always smiling and encouraging. 10/10 amazing staff and experience. And delicious food!
It was a really fun experience for all of us (4 adults, 5 kids ranging from age 5-11). The kids enjoyed eating the mochi they made with the various toppings and Misaki, Mayuko, and Pari were great!
Wonderful experience! Everything you ever wanted to know about mochi, including its history, its purpose, how it’s made, and what it tastes like. Including several surprisingly delicious flavours! Just a fun hands-on experience, and the team were made it even more special with their warm welcome and enlightening presence! Thank you!
My kids loved this activity- very interactive! The instructors were great! It was a huge snack at the end, eating all of the different types of mochi!
Great activity with the kids and included a little bit of history. Lots of different flavors to experience too.
Mao, Haruna, and Runa were great with explaining the history behind mochi and you could sense their passion and pride when talking through it. At the end of it all, tasting our own mochi with different flavors was the icing on the cake. I have a huge appreciation for how mochi is made. It’s a lot of hard work but you can taste it in the product.
We had so much fun making mochi. The staff was very friendly, which really made the experience so much better. I definitely recommend this activity.
This was an entertaining class that everyone enjoyed. The hosts were friendly and funny. Would highly recommend!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience! The hosts were friendly and provided a bit of history. You get to make mochi from cooked glutenous rice. It was hands on experience with everyone getting a chance to grind and pound the mochi. If you're in Osaka, this is definitely worth trying!
My family and I had alot of fun at this experience. The staff were awesome and made it very enjoyable. I highly recommend spending an hour of your day doing making mochi pounding. Seina, Mayuko and Kazu were all great hosts.
Joyful experience! Highly recommended to do as a family with kids. They loved making and eating the Mochi. The hosts were lovely!
Very fun experience making and then tasting traditional mochi! Location is also very convenient by dotonbori river
The ladies were so kind and energetic. First time making mochi and these ladies made it unforgettable! The mochi was so smooth snd delicious not to include the 8 flavors to try! Such a fun and unique experience.
We had fun making and eating mochi! Just enough education. Kids and adults both enjoyed
Incredibly fun interactive and enjoyable. From 8 to 40 something we had such a great time with the team. They are incredibly efficient and Informative we all had a wonderful time pounding the mochi but the truth is the experience is far more than just that. The opportunity to try to rice and mochi throughout the process and with the different tasting at the end was so well thought out. We all really enjoyed our experience and thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Osaka with an hour or so to spare
was fun and entertaining! I enjpyed the interactions and the mochi was delicious as well. Will recommend my friends to participate
We had a wonderful experience! The staff were fantastic—especially Rina, along with the rest of the team (sorry we missed your names!). Everyone was friendly, engaging, and made the experience truly enjoyable. They also took the time to explain the history behind mochi pounding, which made it even more meaningful. On top of that, everything was very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
Runa, Seina and Mao were fun and knowledgeable. The one hour was perfect to include history, activity, and tasting, without being too long a commitment. I recommend it for adults and kids 7 and over.
Mao, Mayflower, and Michi were very accommodating and informative of the entire mochi making process. They are all great! A must visit!
We had Aya, Grace and Runa for our Mochi Pounding Experience. The ladies were so great from giving us the history of mochi to chanting “Yo-i-sho” when pounding the mochi. The environment was lively especially when everyone chant together as if encouraging each other to pound HARDER and for the hard work. We were delighted to try 8 different flavors of mochi and concluded our session with quite a number of photos.
We were hosted by Rikuto, Mayu and Runa. They made the experience very interesting and fun for the kids and us. Great hospitality. The kiddos truly enjoyed the session. Sorry for the mess we made as the kids had the mochi rice and flour all over the floor and the staffs were so helpful to clear it off. Thank you and also all the best to your new adventure Rikuto!
This was a great activity for a rainy day. We already loved mochi, so we didn’t expect to learn so much. It was a fun and tasty activity! Come hungry!
Great experience learning about mochi, how to make it and yummy ways to eat it! My son and I had the best time!! Hope to do it again on my next trip!!
Wonderful experience with family. The staff are incredibly friendly and happy to answer any questions, very patient. My family really enjoyed this unique experience learning some history too. Thanks for a brilliant day!
Fun learning to make Mochi as a family , learning Mochi history and then trying different flavours sweet and savoury. Thanks Mao and Seina!
Our hosts Ayumu, Mau and Runa were excellent. They took us through the history and tradition behind Mochi and then lead us in the process of pounding and making Mochi. The end product was delicious. All up a fun experience for the family.
Authentic experience . I love the part where we get to taste the mochi we made ourselves ! Will definitely recommend to friends and family !
My husband, two teenagers daughters and I really enjoyed our mochi pounding experience this morning. Mao and Seina were so friendly, engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. It was very hands-on and we got to make and eats heaps of different flavoured mochi. 10/10!!!!
This is a fun activity for a family with children. Our family had a lot of fun! Coming from Hawaii and knowing a little bit about mochi made the “hands on” experience more meaningful since we don’t see too many families pound mochi anymore.
This was a fun quick activity! Kids loved it and the mochi were delish! I would do this again for sure!
This was an incredibly fun experience. My partner and I were surprised that we were able to learn about the history of mochi, make it, and eat it all in just one hour! We signed up for the family friendly class expecting mostly kids to take part in the experience, but there was definitely fun to be had for all. Would highly recommend!
I visited with my 10-year-old daughter, and we had such a great time. The staff were cheerful, friendly, and made everyone feel welcome. My daughter especially enjoyed pounding the mochi with the “yoisho!” cheer and tasting it with a variety of toppings. The freshly made mochi was so soft and delicious!! It’s a wonderful activity for families, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and authentic mochi-making experience.
Family of 2 adults and 2 kids (2.5 yo and 4 yo) who have had mochi before many times. We enjoyed it as a fun experience and the staff were very friendly and kind. It was informative and our kids really enjoyed being able to participate in it all, even my 2.5 year old could have a go at everything. They have clothes and gloves for kids. They still remember it after the trip and saying "yoisho!" while pounding the mochi. Highly recommend as something interactive and fun that they can do.
We had a great time learning about mochi, making it, and eating it with all the different toppings. We got to wear a happy-coat and take lots of pictures. I know my 9 year old daughter will remember it forever. Just a tip to confirm you have the right address ahead of time because the event was automatically added to my calendar but the address in there didn’t come up right in Google Maps.
The hosts were really friendly and warm. Overall a fun experience especially for families and Mochi-lovers. Would recommend if you have the time or want to do something different.
This experience was engaging and fun. Learning about the history of mochi and how it is made was interesting. Making and eating the mochi was fun! The location of this experience is great as well and gives you the chance to explore Dotonbori.
We had such a special and exciting time making mochi! Everyone cheered each other on and it was awesome to eat what we worked so hard for! The staff welcomed us and were excellent guides through our mochi making adventure. It was a big “treat” to make something from my childhood with our 3 year old son and he was fully immersed in a fun part of our heritage ^_^ Thank you for helping us make some very special memories from our visit to Japan ❤️
What a treat and very reasonably priced. We were taught the history of mochi, and then the process begins. The instructors start prepping the mochi as it does take some effort and then we come in, to kind of make it pliable, and then the pounding starts. With each hit we yell yoi-sho. It is good fun. Afterwards we shape our mochi, we realize the artistry to make uniform mochi, we failed. Haha. Then they bring a tray of unique tastes to flavor your mochi. The instructors were fantastic, informative, and friendly. The fresh mochi was delicious. And the variety of flavors were a treat. Take advantage of this unique experience in Osaka right by the river.
Fun mochi making experience for the family. We participated in a few other good experiences while in Osaka (Udon, and family cooking), and they both remarked that mochi pounding was a very unique/special experience! We enjoyed trying all of the different toppings on our home made mochi!
Mochi making was fun for the entire family! My two teenage daughters and husband all say the experience was one of the highlights of our trip. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and shared all things mochi with us. At the end you get to taste the fruits of your labor.
This was a great experience to do with your family. My family and I really enjoyed our Mochi Making experience. I have young kids (6 and 5) and they loved participating and trying all the flavors of mochi. We were very impressed.
Such a fun experience to mix and pound mochi. The staff shared a short history of mochi, we pounded yelling yo shoi and then enjoyed the mochi with 8 options. Staff was great!
