Biggest joke of a hotel, money hungry from the minute we arrive we had with lots of bags and 2 kids, they make you pay extra 4000 yen just to check in 30 mins before while they tell you the room is ready, they would rather let you wait in the lobby with 2 kids rather than letting you use a ready room! Other hotels would let you check in if the room is ready, but here they will let you wait for absolutely no reason! Will never book here or recommend just a low service hotel!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Oriental Hotel Universal City. Could not ask for a better located hotel for our Universal portion of our holiday. I didnt realise how close it was when I booked it so you can imagine my surprise when we first looked out our room window and saw Hogwarts to one side and the main entrance of Universal to the other.
The staff were all incredibly welcoming and helpful. Breakfast buffet was delicious, the eggs benedict with truffle on a croissant waffle was 10/10.
We were able to leave our luggage in the storage room when it was time to change hotels. Great to not have to carry our bags all day before we were ready to move.
Easy access to rest of Osaka, Universal City station a quick 3 minute walk.
Would definitely stay again.
We were a family with very young kids and requested them an early check-in in just one of our rooms so our babies could eat and rest after a long travel day. We were just 2 hours early. They told us that our rooms were ready and available but early check in would cost 2000 yen per hour. Very absurd. Most hotels empathise and allow early check ins as travelling with babies is already quite tiring. They wouldn’t budge and insisted on paying extra even for an extra hour of check in. Didn’t like the attitude of staff and hospitality provided. Would recommend avoiding this hotel and looking at many other hotels in this area.
Located steps away from the front gate of universal studios Japan, it has all the amenities you could want and with easy access to a 24 hour Lawson convenience store. Highly recommend if going to the park.
The best hotel to stay near Universal Studios Japan. The train station is a 5 minute walk and Universal is a 10 min walk. We love to be able to open and close the park and get so quickly to our Hote. The rooms were very nice and super comfortable and clean.
